Auto stop start sometimes doesn't work even though battery was just replaced. Sitting at stoplight and when the car turns off with auto stop it does not turn on automatically when trying to move the car. Have to cycle the ignition and sometimes does not start.

LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
The front camera has failed so all of my forward driving safety features no longer work such as lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control and collision mitigation. Every time I turn on the engine I have multiple warning lights that appear every time that have to manually acknowledge to clear them from my dashboard.

2025 Honda Odyssey experienced an Auto Idle Stop no-restart condition. While stopped at a traffic light, the Auto Idle Stop system shut the engine off, but the engine failed to restart when attempting to proceed. The vehicle was disabled at an intersection, creating a potential safety hazard.

I was driving forward in the left lane, no cars in front of me. A garbage truck parked in the middle yellow lane to my left, a moving city bus on my right lane, but they were a bit further back, not driving next to me. There was a cae behind me. Was going at 25mph, then suddenly the automatic brake stopped my car. I didn’t understand why. It happened for a good 3 seconds. Then I was able to continue forward. So scary!!! No one close to my left or right or in front of me. The car behind me almost hit me because of the automatic brake.

9/22/2026- the car idle stop failed to restart at a intersection. 9/23/2026- the car did not start after stopping to get gas. I have not taken it to the dealer yet. Will do it as soon as I get a chance. When the idle stop fails the car shift into parking and only the accessories are on.

Problem with the idle auto off feature failing in traffic. Will be driving fine, come up to a stop (at a stoplight, stop sign, etc) and the engine will shut off as intended with auto off, but engine will then fail to restart/stall. Have to push the start button on/off several times before the engine will restart and we can continue driving, the delay leads to safety concerns and possibility of an accident with traffic behind us accelerating expecting our vehicle to be moving or other drivers not being able to predict our actions due to erratic start/stop. There is no option to permanently disable the auto start/stop. No warning or maintenance lights indicating there's a problem. This issue has happened 5-10 times since we purchased the vehicle late 2024. We have not taken the vehicle in to the dealer yet.

The contact owns a 2020 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while driving 45 MPH, the contact heard a knocking sound coming from the engine, and the vehicle went into LIMP Mode with the low oil warning light illuminated. The contact became aware of a burning odor coming from under the hood, and the vehicle needed to be towed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the connecting rod bearings had failed and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

when trying to accelerate from a stop or slow roll velocity (e.g. at a yield sign), there is a hesitation between the time I press on the accelerator and when the vehicle moves. This becomes a hazard because if there is a delay in acceleration, I could be hit by oncoming traffic. The fuel pump had been previously recalled because of an impeller issue. At that time, the same thing would happen. Hesitation in acceleration. After the fuel pump was replaced (done early 2025 on my vehicle), that symptom was better but in the last few months, it has returned and is increasing in frequency. It happened today as I was driving 9/22/2026 but it was not the first time. It has been ongoing for months now so I decided to finally report it. I feel that this is related to previous NHTSA recall campaign ID number 23V858000

AIR BAGS, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:ACCELERATOR PEDAL, SERVICE BRAKES
The contact owns a 2026 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while pulling halfway into a parking spot with her foot on the brake pedal, the vehicle suddenly accelerated, turning slightly right to miss a handicapped spot, crashed into a palm tree, and drove over rocks before the vehicle stopped. The vehicle went from 0 to 30 MPH within seconds. The ignition was turned off during the failure. The driver’s side seat and top air bags deployed and struck the contact in the face, causing a burning of the face. There was smoke inside the vehicle. The driver was able to exit the vehicle. The contact sustained bruises. The driver's son was seated in the driver's side rear seat. The air pressure warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer for an oil change the day before the failure. The vehicle was towed to the residence and then later towed to a Geico lot. The insurance company had inspected the vehicle. The vehicle was scheduled to go to a body shop for further inspection. A Police report was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 6,338.

The Fuel Injectors are failing which is causing a safety concern with regards to moving the vehicle. There was a warranty extension on these items that does not go far enough to remedy the issue. The components have been inspected and confirmed by the Burns Honda Dealership in Marlton, NJ. Because the vehicle does not consistently accelerate, it is a safety risk.

TIRES
XXXX purchased BFS weather peak tires from Costco Tire Center in [XXX]. Tires have 70,000 mile [XXX]. Took my Honda Odyssey Touring into get and oil change and have the tires rotated: Honda of [XXX] stated they could not rotate the tires because it was not safe to do so. LF tire and RF tire measure at 3/32 back measure at 4/32. They said it would not be safe to rotate the tires do to the depth of the tread on the front tires. I took the tires back to Costco to have a warranty claim filed and to get them replace. 70,000 mile tires on lasting 34010 miles. Tires 70,000 Miles tread wear breakdown. My Van had 35,746 miles on it when I got the tires. Then at 69,756 the 15 point inspection deemed the tires requiring immediate attention and in need of replacement after only 34,010 miles. 1. The tailgate of Honda Odyssey started opening and closing on its own. 2. There was water damage on the electronic tailgate control unit that short circuited it making it misbehave. 3. The unit started opening and closing on its own mid drive and caused a minor fender bender. 3. Honda dealership could not find any source of water intrusion.

This car has on multiple occasions now just turned off the Enginee when stop at a stop light and the Enginee idle feature is on. It makes you restart the car when you are trying to go from a stop light this is dangerous and causes angry driver behind you. I took my one year old car to the Honda dealership and they said they couldn’t help. This is a safety issue. It’s happening more and more frequently

We have had several incidences occur with the auto idle stop system. It has failed to restart at stop lights/signs, car turns off and you must restart it. It happens unexpectedly without warning and you do not realize it until you press on the gas pedal. It causes panic and anxiety due to traffic behind you. It has also occurred in parking lots and in our driveway. One incident occurred on a trip, driving for a long distance and then pulling off the road to stop, the car turned off and took several tries to restart it. We thought we were going to have call a tow truck. Luckily we were off the road and it did finally restart. Scary rest of the long drive home. We have not noticed any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms prior to failure. We are extremely worried we will cause an accident if we leave the auto idle stop system on. We try to remember to always turn it off. This has been happening since we bought the car brand new. The auto dealership has checked it and cannot find a problem and are of no help. We noticed a forum on the internet where there is an ongoing investigation into the problem. Hopefully, something will be remedied to be able to fix it. Until then we have to remember to press the system off button.

When traveling to multiple destinations, upon attempting to start the van, it will not start. This is also the case with the auto start/stop program. The van's engine will stop at dangerous locations, such as a busy traffic light, or at any other stop where the engine turns off. There were no warning lights, but the van would only start if tried multiple times. This is incredibly dangerous and nerve-wracking.
