When the vehicle was approximately 6 months old with approximately 5,000 miles (it only has approximately 6,200 miles now) I noticed an issue with the steering tending to "stick." At first it was subtle, like the steering was trying to follow a groove in the road surface, but it has become more pronounced with time. It is most noticeable when the steering is nearly centered and at highway speeds. The steering takes a "set" in a direction and you must overcome some slight resistance to correct. This constant "set and correct" is annoying and could pose a risk if the driver overcorrects, especially if the road surface is slippery. I don't want my wife driving the vehicle at freeway speeds.

We have reported a “sticky” or “locking” issue with our car since a month after purchase, when the steering wheel is top dead center it forces itself to the left or right, in slight turning motions during vehicle operation it isn’t free flowing and locks up in either direction for a split second causing constant jerking motions trying to keep the car in the lane. We have took the car in but are now told the part is 4 months out, got told to drive vehicle until then. It is a HUGE safety concern that really does need immediate attention. Our local Honda has replaced one part but claims the part we are waiting on is back ordered.

I am taking this vehicle on a trip and am concerned that it will stop running due to the faulty fuel pump. I have contacted my dealer and Honda. I was told there is nothing they can do. I am [XXX] and I am not comfortable taking this vehicle on a trip. I may get stranded in a remote location or in bad weather. Please help. I am leaving this Friday. I have tried to resolve this with Honda and the dealer. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

When I am driving on a straight road, the steering wheel sticks and I have to exert more and more force to turn the steering wheel. As i adjust the steering to stay within the lines, when I attempt to turn the steering wheel ever so slightly, it will not allow me to turn it easily. It requires more force and it will seem like it is turning gears or like little noiseless clicks. The car steering becomes a constant effort of trying to compensate for the steering stickiness. It is like it will not turn the wheel slightly, it's more of a jerky situation.

The steering became very "sticky" making it difficult to drive straight. This started when the vehicle had around 6000 miles on it and was worse on highways and interstates. It became dangerous due to "oversteering" through the stickiness. As a result, the driver would turn more than desired while driving. This definitely causes safety issues with normal driving. There's no telling what would happen if you had to react quickly to something on the road. There were no warning lights or messages. We took it to our local Honda dealership in December 2023 and they confirmed that is was a defective steering column. The part will not be in until April. Although our local dealer approved a rental vehicle after asking, how many dealerships are willing to do this?

While travelling on a straight highway (60 - 70mph). The steering sticks and a greater effort is required to do slight steering corrections. This causes overcorrection and potential lane departure. I have reported this at both my 2 previous services and was told they could not duplicate the issue. At the last appointment we took in information regarding the problem from various sources and were told if they could not duplicate it they could not fix it, leaving us hoping for an eventual recall. In the meantime we question how serious the issue is and how safe the vehicle is to drive.

The vehicle only has 6000 miles on it and suddenly for apparently no reason, the steering seems "sticky" while traveling on a straight path. Larger steering movements, such as turning left or right seems fine. It only "sticks" while traveling straight.

While driving at 35-40 MPH the Automatic Braking System engaged randomly with no other vehicles or obstacles in front of or to the sides of vehicle. The 2018 Honda CR-V brakes engaged forcefully bringing the vehicle to a complete stop.

In August my 2017 Honda CRV started losing acceleration and felt like it was stalling. Every light on the dashboard came on. I brought it to herb chambers in Westborough and they fixed the turbo charger, the vehicle was still under warranty so I expected to get the issue fixed. In early December the newly 'fixed' honda CR-V started losing acceleration, similar to the previous time. I got the car to the dealership and they fixed the same issue again but charging around 3000$ because now the car wasn’t under warranty. On Saturday January 6th I started up the 2017 Honda CRV with the intentions of going to Herb Chambers in Westborough. (10-15 miles). The CRV again loses acceleration and check engine light comes on along with every other light in the book. Realizing I was not going to make it to Herb Chambers, I pulled into a lot to call for AAA (thankfully our 3 year daughter wasn't with me). AAA Tows the car to Herb Chambers. This time they said it was the spark plugs and Herb Chambers Honda charged close to ANOTHER $1,000 for the SAME issue that should have been fixed in August of 2023. Please see attached Honda documents for your reference. Three times in the span of 4-5 months where the car suddenly goes ‘limp’, on busy highways no mind you, I had to put my hazards on and pray no one hit me, it’s gotten to a point of where there is a known issue and these Honda service departments know this, but still ‘work on your car’, for outrageous sums.

The supposedly “LED Headlights on this vehicle is very dim and very unsafe to drive. I have contacted Honda of Marysville Wa state about the headlights inability to provide light on the roads but was ignored. We almost had an accident because the headlights are so dim we almost hit another vehicle. This needs to be addressed by honda before something bad happens.

We bought this 2024 CRV EXL just a few months ago and have less than 5000 miles. The steering catches and sticks at times. We have owned 5 new CRVS over the many years and this is NOT normal. Honda dealers want to say it’s “normal”. I am on a private Facebook 2023-2024 CRV site, and many have reported this issue. Some say it’s a steering rack. I don’t know but asking for your help as my wife doesn’t feel safe and we know it’s a manufactured issue. I've noticed that sometimes the steering gets "stuck" when turning the wheel. This happens when I bring turning the wheel. It's like I'm trying to push the steering wheel past a notch.

This issue became readily apparent in the last two months of driving on state roads up towards the thumb. These trips were approximately 50 miles, one way, at 50 to 60 mph. The issue is only noticeable when driving on a straight section of road. Problem is at its worst at speeds between 30 and 60 mph after driving approximately 20 miles. The steering feels as thought there are magnets opposing the steering wheel. When making small corrections, it feels like you have to break the magnets loose to move the steering wheel. This causes the vehicle to oversteer in the direction of correction, resulting in the need to correct in the opposite direction, resulting in a constant struggle to maintain lane position. NOTE; Over 60 mph, the effort to "unstick" the steering seems to dissipate as 70+ mph is approached.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair for NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to a dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V158000 (Seat Belts) and the contact was informed by the dealer the work was completed; however, the contact checked online, and the recall remained open. The contact stated that he had taken the vehicle to the dealer in March of 2023. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VTC failed July 2018. Honda stated I must pay for the repair costing $662. According to Honda receipt the R5A new VTC was installed. Now it's January 2024 and car VTC failing again. Note: When I changed the valve cover gasket I looked at the VTC and noticed that it says R44. Basically they lied about the repair and put another of the defective VTC. Obviously a much more expensive repair this time due to Honda negligence and dishonesty.
