I believe the dealer/manufacturer has failed to remedy the fuel pump module improperly molded impeller in a timely manner. On [XXX] and [XXX] I had incidents of my vehicle's engine being prevented from starting. An independent mechanic stated that this was likely related to my vehicle's fuel pump recall. I contacted Honda customer service shortly after the [XXX] incident by telephone and I was told that unless a Honda mechanic diagnosed my issue as definitively related to the fuel pump, there was no recourse to expedite the repair. I was not assured that there would be no diagnostic charge associated with the inspection by a Honda repair person. Following the [XXX] incident, I contacted Nucar Honda in Norwood, MA to attempt to expedite the repair for my vehicle. I was told to bring in the vehicle several days later. The week of April 16 I brought the vehicle in and was told I would need to pay a diagnostic charge if they did not find a fuel pump issue in my vehicle, which is not what the recall specialist had said. I left and following consultation with the recall specialist the next day, I returned with my vehicle in hopes of expediting the recall repair for my vehicle. At that point and following my additional calls on [XXX] and in the following days, I was told that the safety recall repair parts were still not readily available and would likely be ready "at the end of the summer" or "best case scenario at the end of July." As I have contacted Honda and the local dealership since the end of January/beginning of February 2024 for a safety recall repair that is estimated to be available only half a year later, this is outside what is noted by the NHTSA as a reasonable amount of time. When driving at highway speed, the steering wheel will not continuously go straight it gets stuck a little the to the left or right and I have to constantly adjust the feeling is like a sticky feeling, it has nothing to do with alignment it is the steering wheel, it is almost as if the lane control sensor is on but it is not I have turned it off, it causes me to overcompensate and overcorrect the steering, dealership of course says they cannot replicate problem. Also when at a complete stop there is a grinding sound in the steering column.

Steering wheel sticks while driving typically notice it driving on interstate so likely only when at higher speeds. Becomes difficult to maintain vehicle in straight line. There is recall on other civics for similar issue but none on my VIN. Bit of a safety concern having the vehicle difficult to steer

On January 23, I first noticed a severe alignment problem, as the car felt unstable and was veering in one direction. I took the vehicle to Mavis Tire Shop, where an alignment was performed. Initially, the car felt fine, but the same issue reoccurred on February 6. I then took the vehicle to DCH Paramus Honda for a recall inspection and explained the alignment problem, mentioning my prior visit to Mavis. They informed me that Mavis did not perform the alignment correctly but assured me that everything was fixed. However, the alignment issue returned, and I brought the car back to DCH Paramus on March 12. Despite my frustration and concern, they performed another alignment and multi-point inspection at no charge. Yet, they inaccurately documented that the issue might be due to my driving habits and tints, which is not true. I don’t drive at night, nor do I drive recklessly or through potholes. On March 26, the alignment issue led to a minor accident. I attempted to stop near the highway divider as I felt the car veering uncontrollably, which caused damage to the side skirt. I had it repaired at an auto shop as I need the car for my daily 50-mile commute. On April 16, I spoke to a Honda representative and explained my ongoing safety concerns. Despite my detailed explanation, the representative's response made me feel undervalued as a customer. I was told I would be assigned a case manager, but as of today, May 27, I have not received any follow-up communication. This lack of response leads me to believe Honda is waiting for my warranty to expire, which is unacceptable.

The steering becomes sticky or stuck in position at higher speeds causing me to have to jerk the wheel back and forth to keep the car in the lane. It's very unsafe at highway speeds.

Car suffers from sticky steering like the other newer civics and it is a very scary issue. My car does not drive straight and as it is getting hotter in Louisiana my car is acting up more. I am constantly swerving to keep it straight. Almost hit car in another lane and I have to fight against the wheel to make it stay straight. There are no warning lights. I have regular maintenance done. It also tried to turn another way when I go from a slow to fast speed, making merging or turning into an interstate feel dangerous. Honda dealership checked it and found “no issues” they just did an alignment and said that was it. Well the sticky steering still exists and is getting worse. Please make a recall I do not feel safe.

Steering wheel has become very "sticky". Minor steering adjustments are now very hard to make, causing a jerking motion of the wheel while just trying to maintain a straight lane. These kinds of motions can cause safety concerns for those driving the car as well as others on the road as jerky movements can result in crash. I have found several other accounts of this same issue with a very simple internet search. Seems like something Honda needs to fix.

“Sticky steering” The steering wheel will “stick” while driving causing the driver to over compensate to “unstick” it. I have owned the vehicle since new from dealer and it has always been a problem to some degree. In the beginning it would happen very sporadically maybe 1 or 2 times a year for very short periods. The longer it has gone the worse it has gotten and is now to the point of happening every time it is driven. It will starting pulling slightly in one direction and then when you jerk it to pull it back it wants to pull in the other direction. It’s a constant fight to keep it on the road and I have had many close calls so much that I am not comfortable driving it and took it to the Honda dealership for diagnosis. They came back stating that the steering gearbox had an internal fault and needed to be replaced. Honda is aware of the issue with this make and model but is not willing to correct the it. This, needs to be addressed as it is truly a safety hazard not only for the driver of the vehicle but also other drivers on the road.

Honda dealership "test drove and verified steering sticking at times." Dealership stated "steering gearbox has internal issue and needs replacement at this time. EPS rack and pinion ordered, currently backorder with no ETA." Part #: 53620-T22-A08 This VIN is not covered under the "23V704000" recall, but the replacement is covered under the Honda 3/36 warranty.

- #11591020May 28, 2024LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING, STEERING
Issue Description: -While traveling in a straight line, particularly at speeds above 45 mph, the steering wheel exhibits a sticky behavior. If left untouched for a few seconds, the wheel becomes difficult to turn, requiring significant force to break it free from the straight line. This resistance is felt both while driving straight and during turns, resulting in noticeable sticking and jerking. Details: -Lane keep assist and driver assist features are turned off. -When driving straight and not touching the wheel for a few seconds, attempting to make a minor correction causes the wheel to stick. This requires applying considerable pressure to free the wheel, often leading to over-correction. -In turns, if the wheel is held in a steady position for more than a second, it sticks and must be forcibly moved out of the turn. Once unstuck, the steering feels normal again. -The issue is most prominent at speeds above 45 mph affecting both slight left and right adjustments. -Potential causes include the steering rack/pinion assembly (EPS gearbox) and the possible need for additional lubricant/grease. Symptoms: -Sticking and jerking of the steering wheel during slight adjustments. -Increased resistance when attempting to correct the wheel after it remains in one position for a few seconds. -Inspection and repair of the steering rack/pinion assembly, with consideration for additional lubrication or grease application. -Further evaluation of steering wheel, steering column, column lock, steering rack/box, linkages, hydraulic power steering pumps and hoses, electrical power steering motors, actuators, wiring and related sensors, electronic control units and software needed to determine if other components contribute to the sticky steering issue.
