Transmission indicator lights are not functioning and vehicle doesn’t go into gear properly. I read there was a recall on certain 2011 F150s for this problem but mine does not appear to be included. I can’t tell what gear my vehicle is in now so it is obviously dangerous to drive.

I was stopped at a stop sign and then proceeded to press the gas and turn into the far lane. A quarter to halfway through the turn the engine shut off and I got the message “ Auto StartStop Shift to P, then Restart Engine”. Had to put the vehicle in park in the middle of the road and restart the engine. Luckily no one was coming but if there had been I could have been hit.

Vehicle changes gear from 10-1 at highway speeds, transmission begins to overheat, looses power when going from 1st gear to third gear after a stop at a light or stop 🛑 sign. I’ve had several near miss accidents in the past month. Ford will not offer any assistance or fix the problem for a vehicle with 104,000

POWER TRAIN
Transmission error codes P0706 and P0707. Causes vehicle to be non operational. Cause is due to a bad sensor the lead frame in the valve body of the 6R80 transmission. On the 2011-2014 model years there was a recall issued, but the problem still exists I. The 2015-2017 model years. In my case, the module is failing at 8yrs/92750 miles.

AIR BAGS
The passenger air bag light indicates OFF even when I am in the seat. I am a 5’8’’ 125 lb person. This is frequently what happens when I am sitting. I have tried undoing and reattaching the seat belt but often it does nothing or reverts back to off in a short time. The picture below is right now while my husband is driving.

BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS
My rear view camera freezes up when reversing, I think there is no one behind my truck because there is a still picture of the 1st image. It's hard enough backing up full size trucks without a camera, but it's even worse when the camera shows no one is behind me and at times there have been. I've asked the dealer where I bought the vehicle, but they always say "There's no recall on your year for this problem".

POWER TRAIN
Was driving down highway going about 60/65 mph. Then the transmission shifted from 6th gear to 1st gear very rapidly. Was able to pull over to side of road and truck repeatedly jerked while shifting back into 3rd then back to 6th. Truck drove normally for a while afterward and then it happened again when driving roughly 40 mph. This seems like a major safety issue considering downshifting 5 gears suddenly reduces speed quickly and can cause an accident or loss of control. It seems something with the transmission is the issue. It is available for inspection if requested. There’s been issues with the gears shifting incorrectly and when taken to ford they just say they don’t know what I’m talking about and give the truck back but it’s pretty obvious when driving that there’s a transmission issue. However this is the first instance where it shifted significantly when driving at a high speed. The check engine and wrench lights popped on when the incident occurred as well.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Rear tail light/bar was recalled a couple of years ago for small micro cracks that water got in. My truck tail light had water in it and was replaced under recall. Less than 2 years later it has happened again. Ford denied covering it under warranty per the dealer who replaced it originally. . Others have posted that their tail light has failed and the leds stay on. Mine as far as I know, has not failed yet. No warning lamps. I feel ford should replace it again since they have had it recalled previously.

POWER TRAIN
My transmission started shifting erratically. It would go from 8th to 10th gear down to 1st or 2nd gear then go back to 5th while trying to merge into oncoming traffic. People had to lock up there brakes or swerve around me to avoid a collision. There were no lights on the dash. I had a transmission shop take a look and there were no failure codes for the transmission. I have had to park the truck due to safety concerns and not drive it. This happened on several occasions during that trip.

POWER TRAIN, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
Have had issues with transmission for years and was checked previously and dealer said no problems. Seems like it was down shifting for no reason. No recalls. In 2024 while driving I experienced sudden loss of power and seemed like down shifting from transmission on major highway and almost came to a stop in the middle of the lane. This was frightening! This continued to happen. Took to dealer and they said I had to replace the transmission.

The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to properly shift into gear as needed. The vehicle would downshift to 3rd or 4th gear intermittently. The contact stated that the transmission was shifting roughly, causing the body of the vehicle to shake abnormally. Additionally, the vehicle hesitated before accelerating as needed. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed the vehicle with transmission failure. The dealer reprogrammed the TCM; however, the failure persisted. The dealer determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 149,873.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
This letter serves as formal notification of a persistent and unresolvable defect in my 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning. The defect concerns the tailgate light, which continues to leak water despite multiple repair attempts. I purchased/leased this vehicle on [XXX] from Galpin Ford on 15505 Roscoe Blvd, North Hills, CA 91343. The vehicle is currently under the original manufacturer's warranty. The tailgate light has exhibited a recurring issue of water intrusion, leading to condensation, malfunction, potential for electrical damage. This problem significantly impairs the vehicle's safety due to Inoperative reverse lamps. This may reduce the awareness of other motorists or road users of the driver’s intention to operate the vehicle in reverse gear, increasing the risk of injury or crash. It has also in the past caused electrical shorting that caused other lamps to fail, potentially resulting in the risk of injury or crash due to failed communication with other drivers. The following repair attempts have been made to address this defect, once under the recall: 1. March 14, 2023: Autonation Ford performed the repair for the first time. 2. March 18, 2024: Autonation Ford performed the repair for the second time. 3. March 24, 2025: Autonation Ford performed the repair for the third time. Despite these attempts, the defect persists. I have also become aware that numerous other Ford F-150 Lightning owners across the country are experiencing the same or a similar tailgate light issue. This is evidenced by discussions on the Ford Lightning Owners Forum, reports on social media platforms such as Facebook. This widespread problem indicates a potential design or manufacturing defect that Ford has failed to adequately address. EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Under recall 23S30 in 2023 my rear light bar assembly which included brake light, back up camera, and white reverse lights for illumination the area behind the vehicle when backing up. There was a new rear lightbar part issued as part of that recall. After almost 2 years the same issue has occurred again to my vehicle. I'm concerned the new part # has not resolved this original issue and a new recall needs to be put in place.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while attempting to research the vehicle online, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 93,600; it was discovered that the mileage was 200,000.
