F150 transmission randomly disengages during acceleration causing truck to quickly decelerate instead of accelerating. The loss of transmission engagement is for a period of time just when you need the most control. Our problem started approximately a month ago intermittently and has become a daily though unpredictable event. When the transmission does engage it bangs into gear or shifts erratically into different gears not related to application of foot pressure on accelerator. I took our F150 to a Ford dealer ($145 to diagnose) and an independent transmission repair shop and both called out the problem as a CDF clutch failure and that it is a known design defect by Ford that they are ignoring. Worst of all, the only fix is a replacement transmission at a cost of $9K and because the dealer has so many in line of our vehicle they said despite a redesigned transmission being available, they could not actually perform the replacement for about a month. Ford should be accountable for knowing of a design defect that results in high consequence safety risks of its vehicle occupants. This Ford transmission defect introduces a manufacture's defect safety hazard to drivers and because it last up to 30 or more seconds, it needs to be called out by NHTSA to Ford as a real safety issue with high potential negative safety consequences they should proactively address. The first time it happened to my wife it was in a true near miss with my wife turning right and accelerating onto the highway. Another vehicle did not recognize she had lost power and was heading into her flank as her vehicle went lame almost hitting her. Ford should be directed by NSHTA issue a recall. I have also attached Ford Safety Bulletin 24-2436 but note it does not raise this to the safety urgency it needs to have.

All of a sudden I lost almost all braking. Brake light came on and a message saying low brake fluid prompted on screen. I see this was recalled for the 3.5l ecoboost. Why wouldn’t this be recalled for the 2.7l eco boost? Reading online it seems I had the same problem other people had.

The transmission shifts erratically in lower gears. The transmission shifts erratically at highway speeds between gears 8,9, and 10. The transmission shifts suddenly into first gear at any speed. When transmission begins to shift erratically at highway speeds it causes sudden loss of power. I bought the truck from the Ford dealership in Franklin North Carolina on [XXX]. It was taken to the dealership on 22, June, 2023 for these transmission issues. It was taken to the Ford dealership again on 19, October, 2023 for the same transmission issues. It was taken to the Ford dealership again this morning on 21, April, 2025 for the same transmission issues. This time the dealership told me they wouldn’t do anything about it even though it is under warranty. They are referring it back to the third party transmission repair shop that they sent it to the first two times. The owner of the transmission repair shop told me that he doesn’t know what is wrong with the transmission therefore he doesn’t know how to fix it. He told me that Ford doesn’t know what’s wrong with it and that is the reason they won’t issue a recall. The Ford dealership AND the transmission repair shop both told me that Ford issued a technical service bulletin on the problem stating there are three steps to attempt the repair. Step 1; update the software in the truck computer system. Step 2; replace the valve body in the transmission. Step 3; replace the transmission. My truck has been through the first two steps but when it came to the third step, the warranty company chose to rebuild the transmission instead of replacing it. while installing new shocks my mechanic saw that the frame is rusted to the point of being unsafe to drive, some of the connections of the truck bed and cab we so rusted they were disconnected. there were holes 1-2" in diameter in the main frame. took the truck to local dealer which inspected it ask said the frame needed to be changed, when I asked if the truck was safe to drive the service rep did not want to answer the question, only said "frame has to be changed" I left the truck there as I did not want to sign any release of liability as felt unsafe driving the truck. I am first owner, bought the truck brand new and always maintained it and took good care of it.

The grab handle on drivers side that is put there to assist the driver to enter the vehicle is the issue. On 4/17/2025 I was attempting to enter my truck. I am severely disabled. I grabbed the handle that is attached to the A pillar as I have hundreds of times since I bought the truck in 2008. I am the original owner. Vehicle only has about 36,000 miles on it. As I was pulling myself in the entire handle detached from the A pillar sending me into a bad fall onto my driveway. Luckily I was not seriously injured. I'm 6'4 190 pounds, so its not like I'm terribly heavy. The next day I went to see just what happened and removed the the handle assembly. I was shocked to find that it is not attached to the steel A pillar. A steel plate is attached to the pillar under the handle but the handle is anchored to that plate only by two plastic wells that the screws go through. Both of the bottoms of those wells broke clean off which then allowed the entire assembly to pull away from the A pillar. I did some research and there is like a 5 year period of this being a known issue. I found dozens of examples of the exact same failure online. There is no "better" replacement part available either. I'm shocked that Ford would not secure this handle into the frame. Something thats meant to assist people entering the vehicle that will be pulled on anchored with PLASTC?? Ford needs issue a recall for this and provide a fix. If i had been 4 inches closer to my brick wall corner of my house I would not be here now to report this. I have included pics. the red circled parts are the plastic that hold the handle to the pillar that broke.

When driving the truck under normal conditions, truck will randomly shift unintentionally from gear to gear (ie. 3-8-1) not following typical shifting pattern, causing loss of power temporarily to the truck and sometimes the rear tires lock up due to the transmission shifting issue. I have had the rear tires lock up momentarily at speeds at approximately 50km/h. Truck has 10-speed transmission.

Due to a defective door (cheap plastic pin), the check engine light comes on with associated warnings on the fuel door not being shut. It is shut but not locked due to the defective pin (I believe plastic) that interacts with the warning light and warning message.

2022 Ford F-150. The vehicle displays a warning message that reads, "Trailer Disconnected" continuously. It comes on as soon as the engine is started and comes back on as quickly as I can press the "OK" button to make it go away. I have taken the truck to the dealer for repairs four times so far and it still comes back. I have paid to have the trailer break control module reprogrammed as well as having a new one installed. The Ford web site lists this as a recall for the '22 F-150 but not for my specific VIN so it would appear the problem is larger than they know. Here is the link to Ford's description of the recall: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Issue: Some 2021-2023 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.3L engine may exhibit an illuminated MIL in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) with OTC P0171 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to the software level of the PCM. Description: 2021-2023 F-150 3.3L: Reprogram The Appropriate Modules As Required By The Software Update And Service Procedure (Do Not Use With Any Other Labbr Operations) Ford has current recalls for this issue but my vehicle was not included.

Still no remedy from Ford regarding NHTSA Recall Number 23V896. They had stated the resolution would be in place by Q1 2025, and I have still not received any documentation with the fix. They already pushed it back once and looks like they are doing it again as I have waited nearly 2.5 years for a fix since the first bolt broke. This vehicle is not dependable and has no resale value due to this recall not being resolved. Thank you
