The vehicle has had its automatic transmission replaced twice by a ford dealership within a one year period due to mechanical failures within the transmission. The dealership confirmed the same issue both times. Each transmission replacement was new from the manufacturer. The transmission failures caused hard shifting and stalling, which has posed a safety risk. An indicator that the transmission was failing had been the presence of a loud banging/clunking noise when shifting gears.

I leased this vehicle as new a couple of months ago. The rear view camera was not working. The dealership in West Branch Michigan assured me that they would fix it. Subsequent visits and followup with dealership have been unsuccessful in the fix. During this time I almost ran over my grand daughter when backing up with no rear view camera. Very dangerous. Also any components relying on the rear view camera are also disabled. I beleive Ford has a concern in fixing this problem. It could result in a serious accident with pedistrian.

Bought a 2019 Ford F150 with 32,000 miles. A year later, I noticed a rattling sound coming from engine. Dealership said I had very little oil. No leaks anywhere. Dealership said I had started an oil consumption test at 10,000 miles. I informed Dealership I did not own car at those miles. Went to Dealership I bought vehicle from to inform them that they knowingly sold me a truck with known issues. Using about 1 quart every 1000 miles. Also, after Fords band-aid they put on, seems to be hesitant on acceleration. Dangerous in busy intersections. Ford refuse to fix a known issue with this vehicle.

Truck rapidly shifted from fifth to third gear, causing the truck to jolt and lock the rear tires. This has occurred at least three times since a recall was performed on the truck’s computer several months ago. After it happened today, the truck produced the following codes: P0720 and U0102. This could be detrimental when driving at high speeds on the highway. Truck can be inspected if requested. A local Ford dealer has been informed about the issue and stated that the recall would not have caused it. No inspections have been performed due to the inconsistent occurrence of this issue.

My 2020 Ford F-150 EcoBoost with the 10-speed automatic transmission (10R80) is experiencing the same transmission shifting issue covered under NHTSA Recall 22V188 (Ford Recall 22S71). My truck intermittently shifts erratically, including hard downshifts, delayed upshifts, and occasionally feels like it jumps to a lower gear unexpectedly. This creates a noticeable jolt and could potentially cause loss of vehicle control in traffic or inclement weather. I contacted Ford and was told my VIN is not included in the recall, even though my symptoms match those described. There is also a known TSB (22-2225) for this issue, but the dealer won’t cover it under warranty since no recall appears for my truck. I am requesting that the recall and/or investigation be expanded to include more affected VINs from this model year, as this is clearly not an isolated issue.

Vehicle experienced a flat tire on the side of a busy highway. The factory installed wheel rim was impossble to remove from the hub because it was corroded to the hub. Teo people had to stand in the traffic lane on an interstate highway to use mechanical leverage to remove the wheel. This vehicle is only 2 months old.

Transmission completely failed while driving. Fortunately I was at a stoplight and was able to coast to the side of the road to a stop before getting hit. Transmission previously was taken to Ford for transmission jerking and randomly shifting issues. They first appeared at about 35000 miles of service. Complete failure ocurred at 130,000 miles.

The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle suddenly failed to accelerate and shift gear as needed. The contact coasted to the side of the road and waited for the transmission to shift into gear before being able to continue driving. There were no warning lights illuminated. The failure became more persistent over time. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who confirmed the failure with the year, make, and model vehicle. The dealer diagnosed a failure inside the transmission with an incorrect size gear, causing the gear failure while shifting gear. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was inspected by a certified mechanic, and it was confirmed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not under recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

Transmission failed. Specifically the CDF drum which is a known issue and Ford has a TSB for it. Truck would not move or shift gears periodically. Would also slip into neutral and would not engage any gear which is extremely dangerous on the road. Dealer confirmed that the CDF drum is shot and the truck needs a new transmission, $8800. My truck only has 53k miles on it, it is a 2018 model year. There were no visual indications of a problem, no CEL. You could tell just by driving the truck, it got so bad that it was virtually undriveable. I put the TSB below. This really needs to be a RECALL as it is super dangerous. My engine failed. They recalled this engine but mine wasn't recalled. My engine did the same thing as the recalled engine did. Excessive oil consumption. When I first took it to Ford dealership it was under 60K. I have had problems with my truck since Easter have taken it to them a few times. The problem was never fixed and now Ford will only cover 4,950. The engine is 12k. I feel since the engine in my truck was a recall on alot of engines. Mine should be covered under recall or warranty up to 60,000 miles. I have nothing but problems since I bought the truck. I started taking the truck to have it looked at since March to other places they couldn't help me so they told me to take it to the dealership. They keep fixing something on the truck but never the part that was broken. They told me it would be ok to drive it and so now I am over the mileage for my warranty. I don't think I should have to pay to replace my engine when it only has 61K miles on it. so they told me to drive it and then it started knocking and the engine failed. The service manger told me it was a failed bearing. certanily no lack of maintenance so why am I stuck paying for this when it wasn't my fault. they found some damge on one of the rod bearings on the bottom. 2021 Ford F-150 V8 that engine had a recall on it. Not sure why mine wasn't recalled. Can you please help me. My truck is at Larry H Miller Ford in Draper Utah. It has been there for 5 weeks this time. Still no engine in it.

Three of my four doors sporadically fail to close and latch. When I open the door the latch does not fully open, so when I try to close the door the latch prevents it from closing. Maybe it is just normal wear and tear, but I understand there was a recall for something with latches on this era of f-150s, and my VIN is not part of that. I'm reporting this in case it's useful information and in case it indicates the recall should be expanded. So far I have been able to use a screwdriver to push the latch open, and the door will close and latch after that. I can not replicate this consistently.
