When you turn ignition off, pull key out of ignition and open driver door. The doors unlock but the tailgate will not. It won't even make the sound of it unlocking or locking. Its stuck shut, handle won't do anything.

While proceeding through a four-way stop, my vehicle unexpectedly lost driveline engagement. The engine began free-spinning while still in "Drive," and the truck stopped accelerating, leaving me stranded in the middle of the intersection. I had to shift repeatedly between Park and Drive before the vehicle would respond and move again. This is not an isolated incident. The same failure occurred previously in early 2024. The vehicle has also exhibited persistent transmission issues, including gear hunting and harsh downshifts, particularly a hard clunk during the 4–3 shift on deceleration. The dealer has dismissed these symptoms in the past, stating it was due to the transmission being "cold." However, the intermittent loss of driveline engagement presents a serious safety risk to myself and others, especially when it occurs in active traffic situations. This is the second time the vehicle has left me stranded without warning. I’m extremely concerned that Ford has not addressed this recurring safety issue. The condition is unpredictable and dangerous. Immediate investigation and corrective action are needed.

Have contacted 2 different Ford dealers starting from November 2024, when I bought the truck, to get this recall repaired. Dealers tell me they'll order the parts and get back to me, but never call me back. When I call them they tell me there's nothing they can do. This recall was issued in August of 2023. I've recieved 4 different recall letters since November of 2024 for different probmems related to my truck. It's been 2 years that have gone by with no remedy to repair this recall of the axle bolts breaking...I guess they're waiting until I'm in an accident and sue them before they'll do anything....This is BS...!

The 2024 F150 3.5 Ecoboost engine in my truck will surge when accelerating after a cold start. The issue always happens when you first get going and it goes away after the truck has driven off. It feels as if it is starving of fuel and has never thrown a code.

The 2024 F150 10R80 transmission in my truck has an issue where on cold starts it will hesitate and then clunk going into 5th gear. You can avoid this by shifting into reverse first and then shift into drive. This does not throw a code and seems to go away after the transmission warms up.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while reversing, the rearview camera image was black. Additionally, the contact stated while driving 5-8 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart, and the contact drove to the residence. The contact also stated that while driving from a complete stop, the vehicle sputtered. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 25V315000 (Back Over Prevention) and 25V455000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 32,899.

Spontaneous shatter of the entire rear glass, outward, when shutting the rear door. There was no crack in the glass. The truck is still under full warranty but Ford will not even respond at this point. As you can see from the photos, the glass blew out backwards. A google search and forum search indicates there could be a recurrent issue with the Ford vehicle.

- #11678166August 4, 2025FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
We were told, our truck had a loss of fuel pressure and flow from the fuel tank due to fuel pump failure. This can cause a lack of fuel delivery to the engine and result in an engine stall while driving. That’s what happened to us. Prior to fuel pump failure, we experienced poor engine performance (misfiring or running rough), a check engine light, and a reduction in engine power. The engine stalled while driving on the highway and increased the risk of a crash being stuck on the side of the road up a hill like we were. I was reaching out to see if we are able to get a refund.

The transmission is hard shifting and staying in 6th gear most of the time. And when I pulled into my driveway the transmission was shifting back down to first and rolling backwards before shifting back to 6th gear allowing me to make a couple feet of forward progress at a time...

Transmission abruptly downshifts without warning. Cluster displays wrench icon and see manual but does not store a code in OBDII. Truck runs in “limp mode” restarting seems to clear the issue. Ford states no code no problem. I have video of issue happening.

Our truck has been switching gears while driving. It jumps from 2nd to 5th or 1st while in use. There are a few times we end up “stuck” making a turn at an intersection with vehicles coming towards us, almost hitting us due to the truck not switching gears fast enough. It has been happening frequently with the last incident today.

My vehicle (2018 Ford F150) is presenting with the same issues the 2021- 2023 ford an Lincoln models regarding the fuel system with my truck sputtering in 7th and 8th gears and stalling. It has stalled a few times in the past few months. The spark plugs have been changed, purple fuel styrene cleaner has been used regularly, filters changed, basically all trouble shooting has been done with no significant change. Maybe there are others who are experiencing the same out there. My vehicle is well maintained, in fact I just put upwards to $8k into it this year.

Transmission failure. Transmission problems began with the having a significant delay in shifting when cold. This resulted in a safety concern when pulling out into traffic and the vehicle would stop moving. As the problem worsened shift points got harder and the truck computer would show that it was shifting from a high gear to first gear at highway speeds. A reputable transmission shop inspected the vehicle and removed the transmission. They confirmed that a sleeve or bushing in the CDF drum had moved and disrupted oil flow to the clutch packs.

NHTSA Safety Complaint Draft Vehicle Information: Make: Ford Model: F-150 Year: 2018 VIN: [XXX] Incident Summary: While driving my 2018 Ford F-150, the vehicle suddenly displayed a warning on the dashboard: “Steering Assist Fault – Service Required.” Within moments of this warning, I lost all power steering assist and was unable to control the vehicle, resulting in the truck veering off the road and into a ditch. This was a sudden and dangerous failure of the Electric Power Steering (EPS) system. I was fortunate not to have been injured, and no other vehicles were involved. However, this type of failure represents a major safety risk to me and to others on the road. I contacted Ford Motor Company and was assigned Case Number: [XXX]. Despite reporting the issue and explaining that the vehicle ran off the road, Ford refused to offer any assistance or goodwill repair. I was told the vehicle is outside of recall 24S45, even though it displays the exact same failure symptoms as recalled vehicles from later years. This failure could have resulted in serious injury or death. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this steering system failure and expand any related recall coverage to include affected 2018 F-150 models like mine. On [XXX] with an empty vehicle besides I myself the driver, going south bound on [XXX] just north of twin falls Idaho I had cruise control set to 81 MPH when I felt a slow to the vehicle then noticed an uncontrolled/unprompted shift and loss of power indicated on the dash cluster jumping from 10-9-7-10-5-3-8-9 gears then transmission temperature went from 176 degrees to 205 degrees for the remainder of the trip. I proceeded to pull over and let the transmission rest for 45 mins then proceeded with my trip after not seeing any exterior damage or leaks. And it did not shift higher than 9th gear while cruise control was engaged even at lower speeds. The transmission then began to experience harder shifting, and gained a shutter like a clutch pack not engaging properly form 1-3rd gear, and sporadic shifting under light normal driving conditions at random intervals and remains to now have a normal operating temp of 204 degrees under normal driving conditions. Took it to be diagnosed at a ford dealer and it was the CDF drum that lead to a a cascade of issues leading to the transmission needing replacement.
