My sun visor detatched and fell on my head while driving causing me to swerve into the median. I took it in and was told it's a common issue for RAMs, The dealership called MOPAR to file a clain, MOPAR insists the sun visor is a trim and not a safety related vehicle component designed to keep the driver from being blinded by the sun.

- #11629091December 5, 2024ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION
Rear Tail light assembly is faulty and allows water intrusion which affects the blind spot alert to send alert that service is needed. When this happens it causes the entire infotainment area and dash to begin flashing and going haywire. Nothing works. Windows will not respond or go up or down. Speedometer is not present at all. This happened to us while on a highway which was quite alarming. The blind spot alert is tied to the whole computer system for the truck so when this fails it affects everything else. Upon taking to dealership we were told Ram is aware of this issue and has changed the design of the newer tail light assemblies including better weather stripping to keep water out. So they admit there is an issue but will not cover replacement of the faulty part and instead quotes almost $2000 to fix this. We called Ram directly at 800-334-9200 to lodge a complaint and inform them that this is a serious safety issue. Case #[XXX] was opened. This problem is not limited to just us as a simple google search of “blind spot alert ram truck “ yields hundreds of people who have and are experiencing this same issue. It seems a recall should be issued to address this problem. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

While driving on a busy highway, facing early morning sun, I lowered the driver side sun visor to help keep the sun out of my eyes. A few minutes later, the sun visor came loose at the left-hand side and fell onto my hands as they were positioned on the steering wheel. This startled me, caused me to be blinded momentarily by the sun in my eyes, and caused me to have to move the visor out of my way (it was partially blocking my vision as it was hanging there from the clip on the right-hand side of the visor). It didn't cause an accident, but it certainly could have. The visor came loose from the pivot point near the driver's side A-pillar, upper left-hand corner of the windshield. I visited a Ram dealer on the way home from work, to see about getting the issue fixed. This was in October. It's now December and the dealer is still waiting on the part. The technician that looked at it did not explicitly state that it was a common issue, but his reaction to it seemed to indicate that to me. I should also note that this vehicle is a company vehicle, and not my personal vehicle.

I was approaching a 4 way stop when the engine lost power and shutoff. The vehicle auto shifted to park before i was able to come to a complete stop and the steering wheel locked up. I was the only passenger, all doors were closed and i was the only vehicle at the intersection. I was able to powerback on and continue on my way, but i have lost all trust in the vehicle and will be taking it in to the dealership tomorrow morning.

- #11628178December 1, 2024FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM, AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
From day one when entering a roadway it would start to move putting me into traffic then just refuse to go leaving stranded for about ten seconds then move again, the whole time it would shudder and shake by engine and the transmission and it was like the system were all fighting for control. Next when entering a freeway I pulled on to the on ramp and immediately got up to 50mph and started to merge and it bogged down like it lost fuel and again I was almost hit by traffic but they avoided me. There are numerous problems with the infotainment system to the point of distraction, most of these problems are transient but on going, they fixed some of them with software updates but then a new crop will pop up. I have not been able to trust the truck since I’ve owned it so I have had to cancel all the plans I made when I bought it. I think two years is long enough to wait to use what I paid for.

- #11628174December 1, 2024ENGINE, POWER TRAIN, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
While towing, the cluster presented "Service Electronic Throttle" warning, lost the ability to accelerate (limp mode), and also lost electronic skid control. Code P00AF was stored. The turbocharger is now being replaced. This is a serious safety issue that is being reported by hundreds of owners of FCA products with this engine across their brands. The same repair is being applied regardless if it is Ram or Jeep, replacing the turbocharger. There is clearly a safety issue and it seems that nobody is doing anything about this widespread safety issue. It is far from isolated and someone will inevitably become seriously injured as a result of this no known flaw if it remains unaddressed by the NHTSA and FCA.

In addition, the steering was inoperable and very hard to steer. The contact stated that snow was on the ground and due to the failure, the contact's vehicle crashed into a concrete curve. The vehicle was damaged on the front driver's side rim, however, the vehicle was undrivable. The vehicle was being towed to the local tow yard. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. No injuries were sustained. A Police report was filed. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V653000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic, Electronic Stability Control) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 75,327. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

- #11627919November 29, 2024EXTERIOR LIGHTING
when the vehicle is put in reverse when it is dark outside the screen goes to full bright blinding the driver no matter what the brightness settings are. This makes it almost impossible to see when backing up. This more than negates any saferty gains made by having the backup camera in the first place. I have contacted ram concerning this issue with no response. There are multiple threads on the internet going back years complaining about this issue with no fix in sight.

On 3 separate occasions, each involving a stop light that changes from red to green as the vehicle has come to nearly a complete stop, I pressed the accelerator and the engine died. The vehicle responds by automatically shifting the transmission into park and setting the emergency brake. Two of these times there has been a car behind me who narrowly avoided rear ending me. The vehicle has restarted each of these times but auto start/stop does not seem to work for a while afterward. I now disengage auto start/stop each time I start the vehicle and have not experienced the problem with it disengaged.
