While driving at roadway speeds, the vehicle experienced a sudden loss of the instrument cluster and infotainment display, immediately followed by an engine shutdown. Steering and braking assistance were reduced during the event, requiring immediate driver intervention to safely maneuver the vehicle. The failure occurred without warning. No prior warning messages or indicators were visible before the loss of power and instrumentation. After the vehicle coasted and was restarted, all systems appeared to return to normal operation. This condition has occurred more than once and presents a serious safety risk, especially at highway speeds, due to loss of engine power and driver information. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership and remained there for over three weeks for inspection. The manufacturer was consulted, but the condition could not be duplicated during testing. No repairs were performed, and the vehicle is being released back to the owner with instructions to drive it until the condition occurs again. The issue has not been resolved, and the vehicle remains susceptible to an unexpected shutdown while driving, which could result in a crash or loss of vehicle control.

The issue started with power steering failure warning light flashed and then went of a couple times. I could also hear the fan kick on high, then the power steering warning light came on and stay on. When it stayed on, I lost power steering and barely could make a u turn on a 2 lane divided high way. This problem went on randomly for approximately 2+ weeks. The fact that all power steering is lost with little to no notice is a very dangerous situation depending on what and where the vehicle is traveling at the time. I took it to Peters in Longview the dealership, and they said that the Electronic Power Steering needed to be replaced. This situation, symptoms, and diagnosis all are just like the current numerous issues with EPS on Dodge rams including the open investigation. I am very concerned about the failures of these EPS's on Rams,

My 2022 Ram 1500 is experiencing a "lurching" or "bumping" forward and backwards when moving from park to drive or reverse. The issue is most apparent after coming to a stop and releasing the brake to accelerate. You can feel a "Bump" sensation as the drivetain re-engages. Have taken to dealer and been told this is "normal operation" but I refuse to accept it. Have been researching this a lot lately and have found many instances of other trucks experiencing the same issue with no fix. Links to examples of others in the same situation below. [XXX] [XXX] The problem lies in the binding of drive shaft slip yoke. Either in the 2 piece driveshaft splines OR at the transfer case. Many are temporarily remedying the issue by applying grease to the splines and this prevents the binding for a temporary amount of time. I was trying to park my vehicle in my garage, where I need to get within 1-2" from the wall for the garage door to close. When I try to release the brake to creep towards the wall, the truck lurches as the binding releases and bumps into the wall. No damage/injury occured but if Ram doesn't address this with a repair or some sort of remedy, someone may be injured. Two occurrences where the vehicle stalls when accelerating from a stop, shifts into park, and applies the parking brake. I believe this is the same issue as the PE24018 investigation.

The same issues related to NHTSA Preliminary Evaluation PE24018. Engine stall while stopped at a red light on, battery warning light on, vehicle voltage gauge extreme low, auto start light came on. It took several tries to get the truck started again. This has happened SEVERAL times since purchasing the vehicle in early 2022. Sometimes the check engine light comes on. Once it took several hours for the vehicle to restart.

I bought this truck used from a dealer in 2022. From the start the resting voltage of the car was a problem getting 12.7v and when I was driving it would often only get up to 13.4v. I took it to the dealer and they replaced it completely in 2023. It still shows low resting voltage and driving voltage. I told them and they said it was fine and not to worry. Now for the past 6 months it has been making a whirring sound that gets louder as I accelerate. I took it back to them and they said they didn't hear anything wrong, which is an outright lie. It still hasn't gotten better so I took it to a different mechanic and they said its a bad alternator and that they are very expensive and on back order. I tried setting up an appointment with the dealer to look at it again and they said I am now out of warranty and will charge me a diagnostic fee and if it is the alternator it again isn't covered by the warranty. I have been searching online and this is something thousands of other customers have been experiencing and there is a class action lawsuit about this as well. I am kindly asking that you look into this and if appropriate issue a recall for this. I shouldn't have to pay thousands of dollars to fix an alternator for a truck that only has 60k miles on it. My truck is only worth $29k so having to pay for a repair that is about 7% of my vehicle value is ridiculous.

Purchase Vehicle, Was told everything was top notch, I started noticing that the dash lights would be on as I approached my vehicle, Having never owned a vehicle with all the electrical. I didn't know if this was just a response of me approaching with key fob. I noticed one night they were still on. I notified the dealership on Jan.10 th. I have an appointment on Tuesday the 14 th. Jan.2026. I drove home the next County over. Nothing electrical works as of Jan 11, 2026. I believe. I ask upon purchase asked about prior problems.

Vehicle has experienced multiple incidents of sudden loss of propulsion, including at highway speeds. Engine revs when accelerator is applied but vehicle does not accelerate, as if in neutral. Multiple warning lights illuminate, including “Service Transmission.” I narrowly avoided a rear-end collision. Diagnostic codes recorded include U0402 (invalid data from transmission control module) and U1003 (CAN communication fault). Vehicle has required towing for one incident and multiple service visits with no permanent fix. This is a safety concern 11/3/25 Loss of propulsion at highways speeds 11/28/25 Loss of propulsion 1/10/26 loss of propulsion at highway speeds

The contact owns a 2025 Ram 1500. The contact had experienced several electrical failures since purchasing the vehicle brand new. The contact stated that there was a sudden loss of power steering functionality, and the Lane Keep Assist would engage and normally vibrated the steering wheel; however, the vehicle and steering wheel continued to vibrate after the vehicle was centered. Additionally, the vehicle lost the instrument cluster image and power window functionality. The master window lock switch on the driver's side console had never worked since purchasing the vehicle. The failures were intermittent. The contact stated that occasionally, several warning lights were illuminated during the failures. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed, and determined that the TFT module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer and was still being diagnosed. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and referred the contact back to the dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.

While operating the vehicle, the engine shut off unexpectedly and without warning while the vehicle was in traffic. In one incident, the vehicle was stopped at a traffic light and, when the accelerator was pressed after the light turned green, the engine cut off and the transmission automatically shifted into PARK. The vehicle became disabled in active traffic with other vehicles behind it. A similar incident occurred previously in a parking lot. The vehicle began sputtering and then shut off when shifted into reverse, again forcing the transmission into PARK. These events occurred after the vehicle had recently been returned from an authorized dealership where it was reported that all issues were repaired. The malfunction appears to involve the engine, electrical system, and powertrain, specifically a loss of engine power combined with an unintended automatic shift into PARK. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request and is currently back at an authorized dealership for service. These failures placed my safety and the safety of others at risk by leaving the vehicle suddenly disabled in traffic, blocking lanes, and creating a risk of rear-end collision. One incident occurred during morning rush hour with surrounding vehicles, increasing the risk to other motorists. The problem has occurred multiple times and has been reported to and inspected by authorized dealerships on several occasions. Diagnostic testing, software/system updates, electrical inspections, and component replacements have been performed. Despite these inspections and repair attempts, the problem continues and has not been resolved. Prior to and during the failures, warning messages and alerts appeared on the dashboard, including repeated ParkSense warnings and other system alerts. In some instances, additional warning messages appeared at the time of the shutdown. These warnings have occurred intermittently since earlier service visits. The vehicle has been inspected by authorized dealers

On multiple occasions with outside temperatures below 30-degree F the rear drivers side door would not open or unlock. The door lock knob was in the unlocked position but the door would not open using either the outside or the inside door handles. The handles moved but did not do anything. The door handle was not frozen and it only happened to that door. I believe this had something to do with the door lock actuator or electronics and it may be related to the outside temperatures. Once I turned off the vehicle and restarted the vehicle the door would open and work. This issue is hard to replicate and I am concerned that it will happen again and I will not be able to get my child out of the vehicle in case of an accident or fire.

The rear backup camera on my vehicle intermittently fails while the vehicle is in reverse. During today's drive, the backup camera screen repeatedly flashed blue and lost the camera image multiple times while reversing. This issue occurred without warning and required me to stop and reattempt reversing without a reliable rear camera image. The malfunction happened more than once on the same drive, indicating an ongoing and repeatable failure rather than an isolated incident. The vehicle has a history of electrical and infotainment-related issues, and the backup camera malfunction began after prior repairs and continued use. I have video documentation showing the backup camera flashing blue and failing to display the rear image. Because the backup camera is a required rear-visibility safety system, this failure creates a safety concern when reversing, particularly in areas where pedestrians, vehicles, or obstacles may be present. This issue has been reported to the dealer, but the vehicle has not yet been re-inspected.

Rear window glass crumbled/shattered around frame causing leaks around the window and glass fragments to fall out onto roadway. There was a extended warranty issued for this reason on my make and model year of truck due to the frame cracking and allowing water to get into the frame but was told my vehicle wasn't included. I live in Ohio so and water in the frame with fluctuations in temps especially extreme would cause this situation.

I was merging onto Interstate 20 with my 7x16 enclosed trailer properly hitched to my 2026 RAM 1500 with factory four corner air suspension. Upon reaching 63MPH the truck lowered from normal ride height to aerodynamic ride height. This caused a sudden and significant shift in ride stability and introduced sway that normally would not exist. The owners manual states that when in tow/haul mode and with a trailer connected to the truck with an integrated trailer brake controller module the truck will remain at normal ride height regardless of speed. Local dealership is clueless on remedy and this ride height shift continued throughout my towing experience that weekend. This is completely unsafe and will endanger not only the operator of trucks doing this but other drivers on the road. As it shifts the load of the trailer, increases hitch weight, and ultimately impacts the payload of the vehicle as well.

The MGU on my Ram 1500 failed while driving down a main road in my town. A rattling noise started and the check engine light turned on and I called the dealership that same day to have it serviced. The dealership could not get me in for a few days so I did not drive the truck again until the day I could take it in. On my way to the dealership I got a half mile down the road from my house and all sorts of warning lights started flashing and the truck turned the emergency brake on itself as I was driving down the road. This put in a lot of danger because I was stuck and couldn’t get the car to start or even shift anymore and was stuck in the roadway. I had the truck towed to the dealership and they said this has been a common issue with the Ram Etorque engines, so the part is on back order and will take 7 months to get replacement. I feel if Ram knows this is a common issue for such a major component leading to such potential danger, they should recall this vehicle.

The contact owns a 2023 Ram 1500. The contact stated that when he started the vehicle and shifted to reverse (R), the camera image appeared blue on the display screen. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle and shifted into reverse (R), and the rear-view image appeared for a second and then turned blue. The contact stated that no warning light was illuminated. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V654000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.
