POWER TRAIN
2024 Nissan Titan PRO-4X with less than 1,000 miles. When braking to make a complete stop the 9 speed transmission surges and the truck uncontrollably lurches forward almost causing rear end crash into another vehicle. Nissan dealer where purchased said its a software problem and Nissan is working on a fix soon. Online owner forums indicate this is a known issue and Nissan has been promising a fixed since 2021!!!

Driving down the interstate at roughly 80mph. Truck started to shake violently almost causing me to loose control of truck and an enclosed trailer. Truck then shut down. No check engine lights or warnings. I coasted to a stop to find small fire in the engine bay. Got it towed to a mechanic, he drained the oil and found the oil pan was full of metal fragments. Suspected crank failure.

Vehicle began shutting down on the freeway. I hooked up an OBDII sensor and it detected a turbo code. Took my vehicle for warranty work on 12/23/23. Dealer Refuses to fix warranty issues. Trying to add on additional repairs that aren't needed. I have pictures of my own OBD2 sensor showing DTC P00AF, indicating turbo actuator or high pressure turbo charger that is specifically detailed in Quality action campaign bulletins issued [XXX]. Reference: PC919, PC920. [XXX] claims no such codes detected. But he wants me to replace fuel pump and fuel sending unit. This guy also wants me to pay $250 for a full diagnostics and add other issues that are not covered by warranty. Per Nissan warranty process, "Warranty repairs will be made at no charge for parts and/or labor, INCLUDING DIAGNOSIS AND TAX." Now they say the catalytic converter is damaged and needs to be replaced with costs in excess of $15,000. However, the vehicle was passed smog check in september. In addition they are saying to begin work, I need to pay 70% of the cost by wednesday or they begin charging storage fee of $50 a day. And still have not addressed warranty issues. While driving down the highway it started to feel like the pavement was warped so we changed lanes and the shaking got violently worse. Put the truck into neutral and drifted down the shoulder hoping to get to a safe place and prevent any further damage. Who knows what kind of pileup could have happened if the engine had seized like it has done to others. There were no engine codes to warn us. Ended up being stranded around a sharp bend with vehicles and tractor trailers scarily flying by us. Truck is currently sitting at Montgomeryville Nissan in PA. They want $2200 to tear down the engine and diagnose. There are metal chunks in the oil pan so it clearly needs a new engine. I don’t trust Nissan to inspect their own equipment especially with the known failures with this engine. Diesels are supposed to be the strongest engines you can buy. This truck only has 43,000 miles on it. PLEASE HELP. The contact stated the vehicle has a broken crank and Nissan Corporate should be held responsible for the new engine. The extended warranty has not been approved as of yet.

Traveling home from working nightshift. I fueled up my truck with diesel and started my commute home which is 85 miles to my residence from work. 60 miles into my commute without warning and no alerts my truck suddenly lost power to everything… engine, steering, acceleration, and electrical. Final able to pull off the road with difficulty steering. Came to a stop and everything shuts off. All the warning lights lit up but no exact detail to what caused it. Had it towed to service shop after failure to start and the sound it made trying to start wasn’t normal. Technicians ran my codes and found nothing that could diagnose the problem.

Hello my truck exhaust manifold had a crack and was leaking exhaust fumes, the good thing there was a recall and Nissan dealership replaced it but now the other manifold is leaking carbon monoxide into my cabin making it on save to drive. I call the dealership but the recall is over and my truck dose not have warranty.

My fuel gauge on my truck does not work properly. When my gauge shows a quarter tank full its completely empty. The reason i know it doesn't is because it died on me in the middle of an intersection and blocked traffic. The gauge still showed a quarter tank of gas. I had it towed to an auto repair shop and they ended up putting a few gallons of fuel in it and then it started. I do see that there is a recall for this exact issue ( campaign # R1010 and NHTSA # 10v-074 )and i would like to have it repaired before any serious accident happens.

While driving to work on hwy 19 in new port richey fl. Motor started shaking and knocking really bad. Towed home and parked almost two months trying to get someone who could work on it. Dealership said needs new engine that cost as much as the truck is worth. Finally found a deisel mechanic that took it apart and said crankshaft was broken. It’s still at the shop til I can afford to repair/replace motor

Driving down I40 between exit 57 and exit 47 when my truck started making a bad vibration and horrible noise. it was dark so I could not see if it was smoking or anything coming from the exhaust. Had the truck towed to my dad's house which was closer to mine. Once there we did an initial investigation on what was wrong. After pulling the dip stick and noticing there was metal material on the dip stick, we knew that something had failed in the motor. We then loaded the truck on a trailer and took to my house 50 miles away. I reached out to the dealer ship that I purchased the truck from, "Nelson Nissan" in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. They told me the truck was out of warranty by 1 month on the 5-year warranty but it only has around 98,000 miles. Since purchasing this truck from them I have only done simple maintenance. I have not even changed the tires at this point. I have changed the engine oil and filter, fuel filters, and serviced the truck more than recommended. I reached out to my local dealership and they would not help either without me paying in full. I am a mechanic so I started looking into the problem. I was going to buy a motor to replace, but with them costing over $20,000 and still paying on the truck i have not. I did start to take the motor out, but after seeing all the other trucks failing on forms i am hoping and praying the NHTSA helps with this horrible problem that is affecting several people that have chose to buy these crappy trucks. thank you for your help

Driving down interstate the reduced engine light came on then engine turned off , no signs of issues prior. Luckily I was able to controlmthe vehicle to pull off the road into the grass. Had towed to Nissan in Vissalia, California and they have to replace engine due to crankshaft issue and bearings found in oil pan. Currently awaiting warranty approval as it will cost over $21,000 to be fixed

When coming to a stop(rolling stop) the truck will jerk ROUGH. Which causes the truck to lunge forward. Multiple times have I almost hit the car in front of me causing an accident. Took vehicle to Nissan 2 times. First time I was informed. “ It’s the characteristics of the truck” which blew my mind. Second time I took it the mechanic was able to replicate the issue. It’s now been 2 weeks since the second visit and nothing has been done. A brand new truck. And already with problems with 4,800 miles ONLY!!

I was driving with the vehicle operating perfectly normal. I turned onto a highway and was accelerating when all of the sudden without any warning lights or alarms the vehicle began to shake vigorously and lose power. I was almost rear-ended by a 18 wheeler trying to get to the shoulder. I had the vehicle towed to a nissan dealership that had it from 8/25/23 through 10/24/23 where they found that the engine crankshaft had failed. Due to this being a common issue the engine was replaced under warranty. The vehicle operated fine upon receiving it but now has check engine lights on. I have also lost all confidence in this truck as I was almost in a accident because of the failure. My resale value has completely diminished as with these nissan titans in general because of the known issues. This was also a pickup used to get back and forth to work and was expensed through my company I work for, so when it was in the shop for 2 months with no loaner I had to buy another vehicle as well as get a company vehicle and lose the expense amount I was receiving from my company for using my vehicle as transportation. This vehicle failure has made me lose all faith in this truck that I can safely get from point A to point B.

Multiple Occasions of Driving on Road and the Engine shuts off. I have had to safely coast the truck off the road, after several minutes the truck starts again and drives fine. This is occurring Regularly. I may go a week with the Truck driving fine, then all of a sudden it powers down and shuts off.
