The transmission has been having problems since 2019 with shift delays and shuttering or jumping that pulses and surges. I’ve taken it to Nissan several times prior to warranty going out but they say they have not been able to reproduce it. Now that the warranty is expired they have been able to reproduce all of my complaints related to the transmission at $6000 price tag.

The transmission quit working in rush our traffic in St. Louis, Missouri. The incident nearly caused a severe accident, if it hadn't been for two alert drivers during rush hour. After sitting for approximate sixty minutes waiting for a tow truck. Just before the the tow truck arrive another tow driver was going to pick up another vehicle "he stop to help." The tow driver was going to tow the vehicle. He was testing to see what the problem. As he started the vehicle he put it in drive and nothing happen. After a few minutes it jump in gear. The vehicle was driven home with loosing power, surging, and RPM going up without acceleration. This happen in late November. The car continued to jerk, stall, and loose power over long trips. The car was taken to the dealership but they could do nothing until they put a device on it to read codes. This was completed December 20, 2021, I was notified to drive the vehicle for several days up to a week and bring it back to them. The vehicle was picked up and drove per dealership instruction. The car was returned after Christmas. The tech perform a TCM update. They tested and drove the vehicle with myself in the car. The manager concluded the car had transmission problems that pointed to the transmission but it would not reveal a code. Until they get a code or approval from Nissan there was nothing they could. On about January 28, 2022, I was instructed to pick up the car. Also, I was instructed the car was unsafe to drive. It was bitter cold (12 degree) fifteen minutes into the drive home the service manger call (note after hours). The vehicle stalled/loss power and a multiple of problems. Approximately twenty miles away the vehicle caused an accident in which I suffer frostbite and damaged to my left hip. With the assistant of the State Trooper I was safe until the tow truck from D and K arrived. The vehicle was towed back to the dealership and remain until present date, [XXX]. Car would shake and stutter in the middle of acceleration. After a stop, my car would hold back and jump before it accelerated again. The RPM meter would also shoot up and the car would begin to pull in the middle of the freeway. Very unsafe.

CVT transmission. We bought the car February 2021 at approximately 95,000 miles I have 106,000 miles & the CVT transmission needs replaced. I saw there were class action lawsuits against them I California but I'm the Texas. I called Nissan headquarters & was told there was nothing they could do to help me. I stalled in traffic, it jerked & rattled & I thought the tires were going to fall off. I was then scared to drive. I took it to a transmission shop in my town & they said it was the CVT transmission. Nissan told us to take it to a Nissan dealer. They said it was the CVT transmission. Over $4,500.00 to replace it. Please help me.

The FCW and the AEB lights come on periodically stating that the system is malfunctioning. Took it to the dealer and they said it was the sensor for the FCW and AEB that has failed. Other vehicles around my mileage and year and model have had the same issues. Nissan needs to take care of this.

Going at a speed of 65 mph+ the transmission or what ever it seems to be cutting in and out, I have to either lay off the gas or pullover and let it sit for a bit for it to stop acting up and it'll stop for a while and it acts back up again, I haven't had the car for a year yet, there were a few time I almost got hit and swerved off the road because of it I usually have the kids with me and the last thing I need is to have something happen to them or me I asked what can be done about and pretty much was told that it was my problem I see many complaints pertaining to this issue, is it gonna take a death for something to be done, im quite disappointed about this and on top of this there is 2 recall for this type of vehicle what can be done about this?!

I have '01 Nissan Sentra. Over the years I kept having my car auto shut off while driving. My recent incident occurs on 2/17/22 while driving on a freeway at 70mph that left me stranded. I had it towed to the nearest auto mechanics. While the engines shuts down, the Service Engine Soon light came on followed by the Battery Icon and Oil Lamp Icon. In the past I had most if not all my catalytic converters and O2 sensors replaced but the problem persisted. Some mechanics stated it was electrical but offered no solution. I did had an oil changed and battery tested a week earlier but no issue was found. My most recent mechanic checked it out and told me it's not the battery nor the alternator, they're both still good. I had to leave my car over the weekends for a full diagnostic.

I bought this car with the understanding that it was in drivable condition with no major problems bought in 2017 now in 2022 there is a problem with the CVT transmission which I have just learned had been in several class action suits I took it to the dealership who only took it for a drive and said they heard a weird noise. Then I was informed it needed the transmission replace at a cost of over $4000 which I don’t have they told me my warranty was expired and the extended warranty given by Nissan was no good either they offered to give me $1000 to buy my car I still owe $9000 on it and then proceeded to try and sell me another car. They didn’t care about me nor my problem. I never got any information about any class action lawsuit. I feel that they were deceptive and hid the truth from me about this defective transmission. I want a replacement with no cost to me. I would not have bought this model if I was told about this major defect.

I was driving my vehicle to pick my kids up when I heard a strange “pop” noise. I thought maybe a rock from the road had dinged my car. When I approached a red light the passenger side car door airbag cover swung off, exposing the airbags. There have been no hits to the car nor anyone sitting in the front seat of the car.

Purchased the vehicle used in February 2018. For the first 3 years, no issues and serviced as on schedule. Driven less than 5000 miles per year. December of 2021, the vehicle randomly started to lose acceleration when trying to turn, posing a definite hazard. Taken for service and advised the entire transmission needs to be replaced. Though a used vehicle, I have seen several reports of the CVT transmissions failing and think this a recall issue.

Unbeknownst to me, the stop lamp switch recall also effects the vehicle starting. I learned that they were related after I reached out to Nissan regarding my vehicle not starting, it first happened on New Years Eve. This has now happened 2-3X a week. In addition to this issue, I’ve experienced issues with the CVT, and possibly the engine. One evening I was heading home after work, I got onto the on ramp, and attempted to accelerate to merge onto I-84. The vehicle would not accelerate beyond 45, the engine would rev extremely high, and not go any faster. I pulled onto the shoulder as best and quickly as I could. I turned the car off then back on, attempted to merge onto I-84, and had to get onto the shoulder again because I wasn’t able to go faster than 45MPH. Both times I was almost sideswiped by an 18 wheeler on the driver side, had that happened I’d have lost my life. I sat there very frustrated, and in shock. After a few minutes of having no traffic, I drove home at 45MPH. I’ve reached out to Nissan regarding the aforementioned issues, asking if they’d buy the vehicle back for what I owe on it. I received a letter from Nissan Consumer Affairs basically refusing to buy the car back. It’s exasperating owning a 2019 with 15,100 miles, and experiencing these issues. I’m by no means the type of person that feels a brand new vehicle is more reliable than an older one. I’m the type of person that likes knowing I can rely on my car. My mothers’ 2003 Outback with over 230K has been far more reliable than my Sentra. Knowing that there’s no remedy to repair the stop lamp recall is frustrating, that means that each time I go to start my car it may not start, on days that it hasn’t, I’ve spent 10 minutes trying trying to get it to start. These issues are exasperating, and Nissan basically saying I’m SOL, isn’t acceptable.
