My car's transmission gave out in November 2023. It was returned the day before Thanksgiving. For the second time on January 11, 2024, the transmission blew. It was towed to the dealership where they notified me that the car would need another transmission. The car received another transmission and the car was returned to me on February 13, 2024. On February 14, 2024, after only driving 65 miles the car stalled after exiting the highway during rush hour. The car would not accelerate properly and was jerking. The car wouldn't accelerate past 15 mph. I was able to get the car to a safe location where I parked and called to get the car towed back to the dealership. On February 15, 2024, the dealership notified me that the transmission blew again. There were no warning signs or lights when the car stalled. It was driving fine until I exited the highway and was sitting at a red light. When I tried to accelerate at the change of the light the car jerked and would not pick up speed past 15 mph. Having my system fail unexpectedly in the middle of traffic put me and my passengers in danger.

Complaint Information Business Name Conicelli Nissan Person to whom you spoke Gary Rymarowicz Business Address 1200 Ridge Pike Conshohocken, PA 19428 USA Map It Business Phone Number (610) 825-4200 Product or Service Purchased Fuel Pump Date Purchased [XXX] Purchase Price $1078.61 Form of Payment Credit Card Complaint Summary Attached is the documentation proving that I should not have been charged for replacing the recalled part (Fuel Pump) for "PREMATURE FAILURE" on my car. Further, while my 2017 Nissan Sentra was under warranty I had the car serviced by Nissan 309 and then Conicelli Nissan. I informed the Nissan dealers that the car was not running as smoothly as it should and asked them to check for issue(s) with the fuel filter/fuel system. They acted like they had never heard of a problem with the fuel SYSTEM/PUMP and did not check my car for the fuel system issues requested. Instead they told to use Premium Fuel when I noticed the issue. When the car failed to start Conicelli Nissan finally tested the fuel system they said the Fuel Pump needed to be replaced. and I would have to pay, even though there were known problems and Recalls for Nissan Sentra Fuel Pumps for over 20 years!!! The documentation proves that there have problems with Nissan Sentra FUEL PUMP PREMATURE FAILURES for 21 Years including 2017. The Recall Notice states : "If the Fuel Pump fails, the vehicle may stall without warning, increasing the risk of a CRASH" If you need any other documentation let me know. [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] What would you like the business to do to resolve your complaint? Since there were Nissan Sentra Fuel Pumps problems for over 20 years, and they denied there were any issues with Nissan Sentra Fuel Pumps while the car was under Warranty and Recall, full credit for the fuel pump replacement $1,078.61 is required. When I purchased my car in July of 2020 there was a 6 month warranty on it and my RPM gage started bouncing while I was driving and having issues switching gears seeming like a transmission problem in October of 2020, I brought my car up to the dealership on November 3 of 2020 specifically even saying that I thought something was wrong with my transmission and they said nothing was wrong and I have proof, I brought it back several times with the same complaint and it was getting worse even after my warranty and they still said nothing was wrong. Now my engine light is one and my car will rev passed 3 RPM and my car wil not switch gears and I can’t go faster than 15 miles an hour. Something needs to be down I will not purchase a new transmission when I’ve brought it back to be checked several times something needs to be done about this now please.

We have been having issues with our 2017 nissan sentra pretty much since we bought it. it shakes ,shutters etc during exceleration. we asked if it needed a tune up and were told manufacture recommendation was for 124,000 miles. So it didn't seem to be the problem. we continued routine maintenance. On Sat 2/17/2024 the car wouldn;t "go" while we were on our way to work. It didn't want to excelerate etc. It struggled the entire way. We pulled off and parked. turned off the engine and gave it a few minutes. We were abler to reach our destination there after, but for safety decided to have towed home. This was covered by our car insurance. However after talking to a family member ,who works for DEALERSHIP, they suggested looking into Recalls. We have not been able to find one that relates to the CVT problem that we are having. We are currently looking into whether or not we are covered by the dealership we purchased it from, since it doesn't look like Nissan will cover it since it's passed the warranty set by them.

I leased a 2022 Nissan Sentra in February 2022. About two months after leasing the vehicle, I started having problems with the car battery. The car battery would die for no reason at all. I didn't leave anything on the battery would just die. I could be driving and stop and the battery would go completely dead. I've had to get my car jump-started by strangers and through my insurance company roadside so much so that my insurance company cancelled my roadside assistance coverage. I took it to the Nissan dealership several times and each time they said the battery was perfectly fine and they didn't find any issues. However, my battery kept dying and I would be stranded for long periods of times. This continued for months. It got to the point where I had to purchase jumper cables and then a portable charger. I finally contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs about the battery (Case# [XXX]) and they told me to take it to the dealership to be serviced. I made an appointment on 05/23/23 and this time the battery failed and they replaced the car battery. I wish I could say that this was the end of the problem but I was having the same issues with the new battery too. Same as before, several times. Once I stopped at gas station after getting gas the car wouldn't start the battery was dead and I had to get a jump. The car battery was still dying for no reason until another issue with the steering and tie rod occurred on [XXX]. Something in the vehicle is causing the battery to drain. This shouldn't be happening. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

On [XXX] my son [XXX] took the Nissan Sentra in for service at Coggin Nissan for a routine oil change. My son told me before I made the appointment for service that he thought that some of his fluids may be low because the steering felt weird. I requested that the steering and other fluids be checked as well as the tire pressure. After the service on the Sentra was completed service we were provided with their recommendation for additional services. They listed that the all four tires were worn and needed to be replaced which I thought was odd. They also recommended an alignment and replacing the brakes pads. There was no mention of any other services being required or any mention of a recall. Before leaving I asked the gentleman at the counter if the fluids and tire pressure had been checked and he said they were and that they do a multi point inspection on all vehicles being serviced. I also mentioned to the gentleman that my son was still having problems with his battery, and it was brand new. The gentleman stated that the batteries are not made the same as they used to be and don’t last us long. On Saturday [XXX], just a few days after having the car serviced my son [XXX] was taking his girlfriend home at around 10:30 pm and was driving on [XXX] before getting on [XXX]. He was having issues with his steering and was unable to steer, losing control but was somehow able to pull in to the parking lot of a bank. He hit a curb or something, the tire blew out and he doesn't think he hit anything else but the front bottom front piece on car was hanging and had to be removed. There was also some other damage near tire. I thank God that he hadn't gotten on the highway when this occurred otherwise this could’ve been a lot worse and lives could have been lost. I bought this 2023 Nissan Sentra S on March 3 2023 and it has approximately 23k miles now. During these 10 months, Nissan replaced the axis on the vehicle under their waranty and the clicking sounds still exists after it getting fixed twice. There is also an occassional malfunctioning of the Forward Emergency Brake (the off light blinks with a ! sign). Nissan was unable to replicate the Forward Emergency Brake issue. A new car made last year should not be having this many issues and we are requesting an investigation into Nissan and their practices. They covered the axis issue twice after us not knowing what was wrong but we keep hearing these clicking sounds and they go through a big diagonstic guide corporate tells them to. The car is still under the Nissan manufactuer waranty and we are tried of going to the dealership again and again to fix this. We ran into someone and spoke with a 2022 Nissan Sentra owner who told us she went through something similar with her axis but in an older model. The CarFaxes are attached for the dates of service.

This happened to me a total of 3 times. Low fuel light does not come on. First time I had 32 miles until empty no low fuel light came on, car stopped battery light came on. Tried to jump the car and it did not start. Put in some premium gas and it started. Second time same thing happened car slowly stopped and battery light came on. Tried to jump the car did not start, put gas in but this time it didn't start, had to get the car towed. Battery was tested and fine. Mechanic said he believes it is the gas gage being incorrect. Third time this happened today, February 3,2024 50 miles until empty pulled out into the middle of the road and my car stopped. I was in the middle of the road with cars beeping at me. I could not move my car. Battery light came on. Police came and put some gas in the car and it started. This is a dangerous thing happening and thankfully I am okay and it could have been alot worse. Please have this issue looked into and fixed. I will be bringing my car into the dealer Monday for this issue to be resolved hopefully.

- #11569569February 2, 2024SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
On a few occasions, while driving, the forward collision warning came on causing the car to automatically brake when there were no cars in front of or around the car. Brought the car to dealer and was quoted $2057.50. After that, all 4 automatic door locks stopped working. Brought car to dealer again and was quoted $1375.00 to replace the door actuators for a grand total of $3658.78. Nissan consumer affairs was called and they said they would only cover 50% of the repairs. These items are huge safety issues and Nissan should cover the entire bill.

I read all of the 214 complaints by consumers who have had the same scary incident occur to them. I have completed all of my recalls and for the life of the vehicle I have had the maintenance plan. The car has been well taken car of. After reading the complaints, I also have had an incident where the vehicles RPM's increased for no reason almost causing me to hit another vehicle in front of me and I quickly swerved to miss the vehicle. Then as quick as this happened the car just slowed down to a complete stop. I tried putting my foot on the accelerator and the vehicle would not move. I then pressed the accelerator all the way down to the floor of the vehicle. Nothing. This halting stop almost caused several vehicles to get in an accident. This is a serious problem and Nissan needs to rectify this horrible safety issue and fix all of our cars. I am going to talk to a lawyer. This is going to kill someone or cause serious harm to others.

The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle started shaking and failed to accelerate as needed. The check engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle decelerated to approximately 30 - 40 MPH. The vehicle was repaired however, while driving at speeds of 50 MPH or more, the vehicle would start to shake and hesitate while accelerating. The contact stated that over time the vehicle started failing to accelerate to speeds exceeding 50 MPH. On another occasion while driving up to a red light at approximately 40 MPH, the vehicle started jerking while idling at the traffic light. The vehicle then failed to accelerate above 20 MPH and was shaking and losing motive power while driving. The contact pulled to the side of the road to have the vehicle towed. While parked and waiting to be towed, the "Check Engine" warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission had failed. The transmission was replaced after the first failure however, the transmission was not repaired or replaced with the failure persisting. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.

Car abruptly stalled while driving, would restart but fail again upon acceleration. Would only move in reverse. Had this happened two minutes earlier, I would have likely been killed on Interstate 10, luckily I had just exited the freeway. At this point State Farm sent a tow truck, it was brought to the car shop we use nearby. Upon inspection the transmission was diagnosed as failed and exhaust manifold was damaged, possibly due to towing, since car would only move in reverse. There were NO warning signs, just abrupt failure. Repairs for transmission cost over $4000, exhaust manifold still being repaired, estimated at another $900. Only owned the car for three years. My only means of getting to work it needed to be immediately repaired. There were NO warning signs, just abrupt failure.
