POWER TRAIN
Vehicle lost power and down shifted to first gear and got stuck in it while going 60mph and with traffic all around and behind me. Will not drive or shift out of first gear and transmission must be replaced now. No warning lights ever came on, no warning of it happening, it just slipped down into first and stalled there, wouldn’t go when pressing the gas peddle.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION
The contact owns a 2012 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled and, on several occasions, and the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who replaced the ignition switch, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was later taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the ignition switch needed to be replaced a second time. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 79,000.

I am simply writing this complaint because the recall says I should if I feel the manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy the recall in a timely manner. This recall is over 6 months old with no current remedy available. After 6 months, I would expect a recall that cites a potential increase of a crash to be addressed in a much quicker manner.

The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH with the cruise control engaged, the transmission was slipping. The RPM revved up. While at a stop, upon acceleration, the vehicle shuddered, and the transmission slipped. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but no assistance was provided. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 159,500.

All power windows stop working except drivers window. None of the window buttons on any of the doors will work when it's cold outside. They start working again in warm weather. Seems like window lock is getting stuck. Sometimes pressing it repeatedly will cause the windows to start working but will stop working again.

I have been having this problem for years and no one has been able to tell me what is wrong or how I can fix it. My RPM’s will fluctuate rapidly and I am unable to accelerate and it feels jumpy. It stopped accelerating completely one time on the freeway. I was only able to get back up to 25mph, it was so scary. Luckily I was close to an exit and got off. Replaced mass air flow sensor and it started working normally for about a month. It has not completely stopped working since then but the RPM’s still fluctuate most days. I feel scared it will give out one day or cause me to crash. I have taken it to different mechanics as well as the Nissan dealership and they all say nothing seems wrong. They recommend a transmission drain and fill, which I have done. The problem still persists. I see this is a common issue with others as well. It needs to be addressed as it is extremely scary and puts peoples lives at risk.

Recently I discovered that it's impossible for the home mechanic to check the transmission fluid level for the Nissan Sentra 2020 (and newer). No, I'm not talking about the removal of the transmission dipstick. What I am talking about is the fact that Nissan has removed the Overflow Tube that is found within the drain plug housing. The Overflow Tube existed for Sentras up until 2019. However, it was removed in 2020. Without the Overflow Tube it is impossible to verify that the transmission fluid level is correct. I contacted two local Nissan dealerships and they confirmed that the only way to check the transmission fluid level was to visit their service department. This is outrageous and unethical. When people are unable to maintain their transmissions properly, there will certainly be transmission breakdowns and accidents related to transmission problems. Nissan should be held accountable.

1. Front passenger side seat fails to activate the air bag once a passenger has occupied the seat, and buckled up. The airbag "off" indication light remains illuminated at all times, and if it isn't being activated, may cause bodily harm, injury, or death to any passenger of the vehicle in the unfortunate event of a collision. Vehicle was requested to be checked out at Lorenzo Nissan in Ft. Lauderdale, FL in November 2023, but was refused. FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG, FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG INDICATION LIGHT ••••••••••••••••••••••• 2. 2015 Sentra CVT transmission slips, shakes and stalls. On numerous occurrence this has caused near tragic collisions with multiple vehicles. One such instance forced the vehicle into 'limp mode' in a high speed area of a busy freeway and nearly caused numerous vehicles to collide into the stalled Sentra at rates of speed over 70 MPH. Furthermore, the 2015 Sentra has an issue shifting from park, and will not move out of park, even with the brake applied, unless the gear release button is applied. Vehicle was requested to be examined by Lorenzo Nissan in November 2023, but the dealership refused to inspect any possible safety or equipment issues without the promise of purchasing a new Nissan from their dealership. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The local dealer was notified of the issue and confirmed that the parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Left side door trim keeps popping off Replaced driver front door handle, on 25 march 21 Same type defect reported for passenger side on 13 December 23 Local dealer refused and charge $520.41 estimated. Called Nissan headquarters in Tennessee on 18 December 23. Many calls to Nissan headquarters latest call on 24 January 24 received claim no. [XXX] . Nissan insists is warranty expired. I got this vehicle pre owned by Carvana. My rear and head lights flicker off and on with any one touching them. My power inside the car like for the radio, heating and cooling will stop working for a few days and randomly come on when it wants. Then local Nissan broke my plastic undercarriage during my recall they didn’t complete and now it’s dragging across the ground.

Transmission was failing without any check engine light on-> right passenger side tire would skid before transmission was replaced -> new transmission replaced still has issues shifting at times. Inspection was done by Nissan 104th in Northglenn.( sends out a threat to public by transmission not shifting gears properly to move or get out of way of other cars going faster speeds) Seat belt restraint system-> dashboard displays little person but when shifting from P to D and going above 40 the seatbelt icon doesn’t blink or make any sound just is stuck on until seatbelt is put in then it goes away( this displays a safety concern for self and others)
