I was at a stop light in a busy area and I got a message saying critical engine malfunction warning, engine power reduced. I had to floor the car to get it to 5 mph, then when I got it in the only minimally safe area I could the emergency braking system was the only thing that stopped it. My brakes failed too. My car has only 71K miles and is not quite 5 years old. It's been meticulously maintained as well. This is NOT acceptable.

The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

While driving car shuts down in traffic!!! Cuts off at stop signs!!! Cuts off driving up steep roads!!! Jerks and jolts forward!!! Speeds up and down while gauges fluster!!!! The car slips in and out of gear!!! My life has been in danger since I bought this car… I need the situation taken care of this car is a dear trap and a severe safety hazard!!! This car in whole was recalled I don’t know why Nissan missed my vin number….

Unknown, ICC module is out on Sentra is known issue from Nissan, needs to be recalled as it can cause some cars to brake on there own from what I’ve seen online. Nissan wants over 2000 to make repair on a part they know from the factory is likely to fail

Vehicle began making a whining noise when starting with car in park, accelerating or decelerating. Didn’t seem to drive like normal. I Immediately took car to my usual mechanic and was notified it was the CVT transmission and it would need to be replaced. I was made aware of the recall by my mechanic. I contacted Nissan and was told they would not cover it. I’ve kept regular maintenance on my car and it only has 131,000 miles. .

The continuously variable transmission (CVT) in my vehicle failed prematurely, leading to significant safety concerns. The car experienced severe jerking, hesitation, and loss of power while driving, especially at highway speeds. Eventually, the transmission stopped functioning properly, making it unsafe to drive. There were no warning lights, messages, or dashboard indicators to alert me of any issues before the failure. A dealership confirmed that the transmission fluid was burnt, contaminated with metal shavings, and the internal components had failed. However, due to the vehicle’s design, the CVT fluid is sealed and inaccessible to consumers for routine checks or maintenance, meaning the issue was undetectable until complete failure occurred. This defect poses a serious risk, as many drivers have reported sudden power loss, delayed acceleration, and unexpected breakdowns in traffic. Nissan has had a history of CVT failures in previous models, leading to warranty extensions, but similar issues persist in newer models without proper acknowledgment. If left unaddressed, this could lead to more drivers experiencing dangerous situations on the road.

Car stalls on and off especially driving up hills… the car jolts… speed dominator is fluctuating up and down… car is showing codes on OBD scanner (P2589) and (P0965) it was a recall for the 2013-2017 Sentra for cvt trouble actually a law suit that was won…. While I was driving on [XXX] , a piece of ampact tap metal (the "C" piece) hit my front part of the car, it went on the lower rack of my car, and it got trapped in the car. This piece fell from a truck that was loaded, I got scared but kept driving, the car seems fine, but I couldn't see the truck information plaque. This was on [XXX] between [XXX]. close to Miller factory. The piece measure 5 x 3.5 inches and weights around 1-1.5 pounds. I would like to know if there is any recorded traffic tape on the [XXX] cameras. This will help me to hold accountable to the responsible vehicle. Car is constantly turning on inside even if the car is turned off, the radio will play all night. Sometimes in comes on and then it turns off. When car is turned on and I am driving all of a sudden screen and dashboard will go out all black and then all of a sudden turns on. This has been happening since I purchased the vehicle which was about 2 years ago, I did take back to question it and it was stated to me that sometimes vehicles do that because the vehicle has just been turned off. Now to add to that I am getting a key system error on dashboard when driving the car and electrically speaking the doors are now not locking but everything mechanically is intact and working.

I was driving down the highway and my vehicle all of a sudden started sputtering. The speed dropped quickly as a car almost rear ended me. Then it went back to normal so I continued driving and then it did it again and stopped completely. There’s no check engine light on or any other warnings. Had the vehicle towed to Firestone and they told me it is the transmission. They said I should call Nissan dealership because my model and year is known for this problem and should be a recall. So I call Nissan and they said yes there is some recalls for that year and model but my vin number isn’t on recall list. That doesn’t make since to me. Are they installing different transmissions in the same year and model?

In addition, the transmission was slipping. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with transmission failure. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 83,000.

The transmission failed. The car just stopped moving forward while My son was driving in traffic. It was 12:00 in the afternoon on a Friday so local traffic was a bit heavy. Traffic had to go onto the other side of the road creating a hazard. Luckily the car behind was following at a safe distance and was able to stop. There was no previous warnings that this was going to happen. The car had to be towed to a repair shop. The repair shop called NIssan but they said they could not offer any assistance with repairing the transmission even though this is a known problem to them.

The vehicle just slows down and will not go while driving it. This could cause wrecks while driving and car just slows down and won't go. This has a cvt transmission that needs to be recalled. Nissan dealers and other automotive shops have said the cvt transmission in Nissans need to be recalled.
