I was sitting in my car in the passenger seat. The car was in Park, engine was idling to warm up the car. No one was in the drivers seat. After about 5 mins, the car started moving forward without me touching or bumping anything. I didn’t notice if the dash display changed from P to D. The shifter light definitely changed out of P. As a result, the car slowly moved forward and bumped a parked vehicle in front of me. No damage to either vehicle due to slow speed. No claim filed. No police report. I just have major safety concerns. I pulled a diagnostic report later and found these codes: SHIFT module codes U0101-00 (lost communication with the transmission computer) and U2141-87

The Defect: My 2023 Nissan Rogue AWD equipped with 1.5L 3 cylinder VC Turbo engine began making growling,, shaking noises matching the symptoms of known engine main bearing failures as outlined in NHTSA Recall 25V437/26V080 (R25E2). This happened with only about 44,000 miles on my vehicle. I brought it in to Oak Ridge Nissan under the recall on September 22, 2026. . I was expecting them to check the oil pan for any metallic debris or further related problems. The Service mechanic noted: "Reprogram ECM and complete test drive with NO DTC PO524 present. Good Condition R25E20 0.9." The mechanic also noted "Transmission mounts. Just the one vibrating badly possible motor mount also but would need tostart with trans mount." (Which they listed as a $1,146.76 expense.) I was told this is my responsibility but it is not usual for a car with 44,000 to have this kind of problem. I don't feel they inspected this problem in a sufficient professional manner. warning Safety Problem: The car had a engine malfunction when I brought it in. It now reads AWD Malfunction The nature of this engine sound, AWD warning, and "Auto Start/Stop dashboard warning,, and recalled problem render this vehicle unsafe to drive. I have owned three other Nissans over the years and this one is the most problematic - it should not have this kind of problem at such low mileage.

The EGR Cooler failed and caused a significant coolant leak into my engine. Causing sudden engine failure while driving. I experienced sudden power loss, loss of throttle control due to the motor being placed in the "safety mode" due to the engine coding, and was only able to drive on the shoulder of the road at ~25MPH, causing traffic disruptions until I was able to safely exit the roadway. I was able to get the vehicle diagnosed by Nissan, it resulted in over $10000 of repairs to fix the damage. The vehicle has less than 80000 miles and is still covered under extended warranty. However, Nissan rejected the repair claim due to it being the EGR cooler that failed.

I was adjusting the seat up and it felt like something broke loose and wentkind of sideways, and then the airbag light went on and freaked me out and about wrecked my car. I took it in to get it looked at and apparently the seat breaking loose caused the airbag to come unplugged and they said the rail and frame need replaced. The car doesn’t even have 80,000 miles on it and this is apparently a big problem with these seat frames and rails breaking loose, but yet my car is not part of the recall. It needs to be part of the recall. I think Nissan should help pay for the cost of this stuff. This is a serious safety issue and most people don’t have an extratwo grand to throw down to keep their car safe when it is poor manufacturing.

While I was driving the right passenger back window exploded which is made out of soda lime glass. During the incident, I almost lost control of the vehicle and glass got all over me and my husband. We were driving on the highway at a 70mph speed. The explosion caused me to become stunned while driving and I almost recked and caused harm to others due to the window exploding.

On Thursday, XXX at 14:44 pm while driving on route 202 in [XXX], the car made a loud popping sound from under the hood, followed by other metallic sounds, then all dashboard warning indicator lights flashed & the accelerator stoped working. As the car was being steered to the shoulder, a huge plume of black smoke rose from under the hood followed by a roaring fire 🔥 from under the hood. As per our written correspondence to USAA, Our insurance company is conducting a forensic cause/analysis. We have no definitive causation determination as of this writing. The car is available for inspection at the police private towing facility. The police & fire department closed route 202 to battle the car fire. No dealer has examined the car remains, to our knowledge, as of yet. The warning lights appeared almost simultaneously as the loud popping sound and other under hood metallic sounds. The insurance company said they will conduct a forensic source /cause analysis investigation. We will report this car fire next to Nissan consumer safety and both organizations can coordinate investigations, as far as we anticipate. Not applicable regarding reproducing the massive car car. I am reporting a severe safety hazard regarding unresolved secondary electrical component damage caused directly by the Recall PC934 factory defect on my 2017 Nissan Rogue SL AWD. The vehicle experienced severe moisture entry, heavy rust on the driver-side floorboard, a complete loss of Electronic Power Steering, an inoperable electronic trunk, and a massive parasitic battery drain with visible terminal corrosion. The dealership performed the physical PC934 wiring harness connector swap but left the vehicle completely undrivable with zero power steering assist, claiming the secondary component damage is my out-of-pocket responsibility. Nissan Corporate is actively denying recall assistance for the exact short-circuit failures detailed in their federal recall documentation, posing an immediate physical threat to drivers. I have a 2026 Nissan Rogue. The back window spontaneously "popped" and shattered. I understand there is an issue with 2025 Rogue doing this. I purchased mine in October of 2025. I was in the drivers seat and had pushed the rear hatch button to open it. It went up approximately 1/2 way and there was a loud "pop", to the point my neighbors came out to see what happened. I called my dealership and they had me bring it in. They informed me there was no recall for the glass and could not cover it under warranty because they had no "proof" it was spontaneous. I paid 100% to have my window replaced by Safelite at a cost of $374.00.

I parked my car this morning at work and all was normal. I left in my car at lunch time and noted that the rear glass was shattered. No signs of impact to the rear glass, just shattered in to a million pieces. I have vent visors on my car and always leave the side windows cracked to allow air flow and aid in the car's internal temperature during the day. The temperature for today, as noted on the car's temperature gauge, was 78 degrees outside. As the day went on, after the glass shattered, pieces began falling out (as it had to be driven home) and left a hole in the rear of the vehicle. I did report the incident to Security at Wytheville Community College but did not report it to local law enforcement as there was no indication that anything had made impact with the rear glass. I do have video of the rear glass after it was first noticed but I am unable to upload it.

The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while his wife was pulling into a parking space at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle unexpectedly accelerated and crashed into a brick wall. The front end of vehicle was damaged. The vehicle was towed. The contact's wife had soreness to the body and was managing the soreness with painkillers. The wife was eventually taken to the doctor for X-rays. A Police report was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

FIRST MY 2023 NISSAN ROGUE SV 1.5 L TURBO , AS I WAS DRIVING MY SON TO SCHOOL AND I STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN MY CAR SHUT OFF AND IT TOLD ME TO PLACE MY VEHICLE IN PARK SO I DID JUST THAT BUT I NOTICED THATTHE ONLY LIGHT THAT STAYED ON THE DASH WAS THE OIL LIGHT AND THEN ONCE MY SON WAS DROPPED OFF , I STOPPED AT ANOTHER STOP SIGN AND IT DID IT AGAIN, SAME PLACE YOUR VEHICLE IN PARK .. THE CAR WAS OFF .. IT DID THIS IN THE MIST OF ME BEING ON THE HIGHWAY , IT WAS SO VERY SCARY TO ME THAT THIS WAS HAPPENING .. BUT THATS NOT THE WORST PART .. THE NEXT DAY I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND MY CAR JUST COMPLETY TURNED OFF AND MY SPEED WAS 75MPH AND IT JUST STATED DAMAGED TO ENGINE .. TURN OFF CAR BUT I HAD NO CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE I QUICLKY PLACED THE CAR IN N SO I COULD SAFELY TURN ON THE INTERSTATE .. I HAD MY BABIES IN THE CAR WITH ME ALONG WITH MY BEST FRIEND AND HER DAUGHTER . THIS IS A SCARY CAR TO HAVE , YES IT IS NICE BUT ITS SO VERY DANGEROUS. I HAVENT DRIVEN THE CAR SINCE AND I WONT BECAUSE MY CHILDRENS LIFES AND THE LIFE OF MY VERY OWN IS WAY MORE MORTANT.

In mid-XXX, my wife reported that all the warning lights (except CHECK ENGINE) lit up along with the warning sounds. The engine immediately started losing power. When car was pulled over, it sounded like a rough running engine and very little power. Since the first time, the issue has occurred a couple dozen of times. When the car is turned off for 30 seconds and turned back on, everything resets and there is no issue. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for this occurring (happens in hot or cold temps, wet or dry conditions, all speeds, etc). Owner (me) put a FIXD device into the OBD2 port and it provided several error codes - not of which made much sense. I took screen shots of the codes and put [XXX] AI to work. Tried to troubleshoot myself but it got complicated very quickly. Took vehicle into Nissan dealership on XXX and explained that the codes came on intermittently and described the issue and engine power reduction. I paid for the engine scan ($200) and, as I thought, it came back reading NO CODES. I then provided to the service agent (Dave) an email with a video of the codes happening in real time along with the error codes provided by the FIXD device. The dealership was not able to pull any error codes nor were they able to duplicate the failures. After 1 week, I took the car back since we needed it. The safety issue is that the engine loses power and has stalled on occasion. The time my wife was driving 60 mph and engine lost power was scary and she had a friend in the car at the time. I have video clips of the errors while driving which will provide you additional information. However, I was not able to attach them below as .MP4 files are not allowed. Will provide on request. Vehicle: 2025 Nissan Rogue (1.5L 3-Cylinder VC-Turbo Engine) Approximate Mileage: about 23,600 miles Failure Date: September 25, 2026 Incident Description: While operating my vehicle on September 24, the cabin climate control system suddenly stopped producing heat and began blowing exclusively cool air. The following day, while accelerating onto the freeway to merge into high-speed active traffic, a massive column of thick white smoke violently billowed out from the vehicle exhaust so thick I could not see vehicles around me. Concurrently, the engine temperature gauge spiked aggressively into the extreme hot/danger zone before erratically fluctuating back toward the normal range. Immediately following the temperature spike, the vehicle lost reliable acceleration, began severely lunging, jerking, and lost normal throttle response. The dashboard illuminated multiple critical malfunction alerts, specifically identifying a failure in the Emission Control System and the automatic Start-Stop system warning. Safety Risk Statement: The sudden powertrain failure and severe engine lunging occurred at highway speeds (65-70 mph) on a major freeway I-35, resulting in an immediate and hazardous drop in speed. As the vehicle slowed down rapidly in active traffic, I was forced to maneuver a failing vehicle across two active lanes of high-speed traffic and cut directly across a freeway on-ramp with a failing throttle to reach the safety of the shoulder, where I awaited a tow truck. This defect presents an immediate, catastrophic collision hazard. The manufacturer has expanding recalls on this specific VC-Turbo engine family, but claims my specific VIN is not currently covered. There were no warning indicators prior to the failure. Elevated Nissan in Merriam Kansas has the vehicle and is evaluating it.

My back hatch/ trunk failed out of no where and when I went to go lift it I obviously had not known something spontaneously went wrong I was in my trunk just an hour before with no issues, and it dropped back on me and has since been extremely heavy and doesn't work.
