While operating the vehicle, the electronic shifter assembly failed completely, preventing the vehicle from shifting into the desired gear. The dealership diagnosed the issue as an internal electrical/mechanical failure of the shifter assembly and cited "sticky residue" near the center console as the cause, subsequently denying warranty coverage. This design places highly sensitive, non-sealed electrical shifter components directly adjacent to the center console cup holders. Under normal, foreseeable cabin use, any minor environmental moisture or fluid proximity causes immediate, catastrophic failure of the shifting mechanism. This is a severe safety hazard as it can leave the vehicle abruptly stranded in active traffic, prevent the driver from placing the vehicle into 'Park' securely, or trap occupants in an unsafe location without the ability to move the vehicle out of harm's way. Nissan has previously acknowledged this exact vulnerability in earlier model years under Technical Service Bulletin NTB21-069A (which explicitly covered shifter replacement even with liquid intrusion), demonstrating that the underlying component design remains fundamentally flawed and unsafe for standard automotive environments.

It was a beautiful day between 68-75 degrees. Got into my Rouge around 145p and when I shut my door the entire back window just shattered. I’m calling the manufacture tomorrow as there are many complaints on the internet as well as a possible class action lawsuit.

The front and back collision warning system lights are on indicating that they are not working, this is a Nissan 2025 rouge sv, they turned on when accelerating from stop and now I have lost my turbo pressure (won't go over 0), and when in park it revs up and down without my input. ENGINE SEIZURE & PROPULSION LOSS: While driving in heavy, fast-moving traffic, the vehicle suffered a sudden, total engine seizure with zero warning lights or limp-mode transition, resulting in an immediate loss of power and narrowly avoiding a multi-car high-speed collision. This follows a prior turbo line issue and a complete engine replacement. PHANTOM AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING (AEB): The vehicle's collision avoidance system frequently and unprompted slams on the brakes violently while traveling at highway speeds when no obstacles exist, creating severe rear-end crash risks from trailing vehicles. ELECTRICAL/ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: The central infotainment screen continuously resets, the radio locks in the "on" position, and the vehicle suffers chronic no-start battery drains. SERVICE RECORD FALSIFICATION: Authorized dealerships are covering up these major issues by performing complete engine swaps and ECM reprogramming, yet fraudulently documenting the work on customer invoices as minor checks (e.g., "engine checked") to mask defect trends. This vehicle is a severe public safety hazard and requires an immediate federal investigation and recall.

On [XXX], my 2023 Nissan Rogue unexpectedly locked itself immediately after I stepped out, trapping my 2-year-old son inside in the heat. The key fob was physically inside the car. When the doors locked, I immediately tried to use my smartphone app to unlock the car, but it failed completely. I called my husband, and his app failed too—neither of us could unlock the doors or start the engine remotely. We had to call 911 while my son was trapped for about 7 minutes, until he managed to finally unlock the door from the inside. The car has not yet been inspected by a dealer or the manufacturer, but 911 logged the active emergency. Besides previous minor lag with the smartphone app, there were no other warnings before the app failed. There was a no key detected notification on dashboard despite key being inside vehicle. The vehicle and its computer modules are fully available for inspection upon request. The rear liftgate glass on my 2024 Nissan Rogue SV AWD spontaneously shattered. There was no collision or known impact with the glass. The vehicle had aprox. 49300 miles and I had purchased it form Enterprise car Sales approximately one week before the incident. the rear glass suddenly shattered/imploded. I contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs and they opened a case under my VIN. Nissan provided me with a case number but advised that they will not provide repair assistance at this time. Enterprise Car Sales has been notified and is having its mechanic inspect the vehicle.

I picked up my adult daughter from the LAX on August 5th at 9:00am. I was in the driver’s seat and pushed the button to open the liftgate, so she could load her luggage. As she was loading her luggage, the power liftgate closed on her - unprompted. It hit her in the back of the head. (across the back, near the base of her skull) She yelled at me for "closing the trunk on her head" but I did not hit any button. She had a really bad headache for an hour or so, but later that evening and the next day, she developed severe back of the head and neck pain. We took her to a emergency clinic the next morning on 8/6/26 and the physician gave her medicine (injection and prescription) for severe acute headache and cervical paraspinal muscle spasm. He told her to follow up with neurology bc she may have trigemenal neuralgia. We did not put the pieces together (that the liftgate was the source of her pain) until later... after the liftgate knocked me unconscious on 9/1 and I now have a traumatic brain injury and neck injury.

The power liftgate has closed a couple of times without being prompted. (no one has pushed the button inside the car, or on the door. No one is kicking under the car. No one is pushing the button on the key fob) After injuring 2 of my family members, we are now very cautious when using the liftgate. One person must be standing under the liftgate to make sure it doesn't close umprompted and hurt anyone. (I have notified Nissan and the NHTSA about the 2 incidents with injuries, both required medical care). So she was not injured. but we are all scared of this car... but it is our only source of transportation. And her cosmetology case is massive and will only fit in the trunk. On 9/30/2026, I was dropping my daughter off at cosmetology school and she was retreiving her cosmetology case from the trunk when the liftgate started closing on her - unprompted. I HAVE THIS ON CELL PHONE VIDEO. (Just like I have dash cam of the incident when I was knocked unconscious by the liftgate and now have a traumatic brain injury and neck injury). Luckily- we were paying very close attention and we pushed the liftgate back up after it started closing on my daughter.

The power liftgate in my 2026 Nissan Rogue Platinum continues to close unprompted. There have been 2 injuries (one minor and one significant). And 2 near misses. This is the 2nd near miss. On 9/15/2026, around 2pm (timestamp - according to dash cam footage) my daughter was loading a small wagon and tote in the back of the car. We were transporting belongings to her father who is in a long term care facility with dementia. After the previous injuries from the liftgate, we now ensure 2 people are at the back of the car so one can intervene if the liftgate starts to close. She had loaded the late tote when the liftgate started closing umprompted. I was able to stop it from hitting her becuase I was standing guard. I have filed complaints with Nissan and the NHTSA for the incidents. We have no other means of transportation or we would not use this car.

on 9/15/2026 (9:30am), I used the Nissan app to unlock my car to get my sunglasses. The car unlocked fine. I retrieved the sunglasses and tried to use the app to lock the doors but the app said the doors could not lock bc the car thought the trunk was open. (it was not) It did finally lock the doors, but kept giving me a message that the trunk was open. The trunk was not open. I have cell phone video of this. On October 1, 2026, the seat belt reminder did not go off (which is the first time it hasn't. it always goes off). I have cell phone video of this. On October 2, 2026, I used the pre-start engine option via the app to cool off the car. Even after I had started the car with the key fob and was driving down the road, the pre-start was still giving me a count down that the engine would turn off... even though we were driving down the road. I have cell phone video of this. Basically - after the liftgate has closed without warning several times (resulting in one significant injury, one minor injury and 2 near misses), I now keep my iphone recording almost the entire time I'm in the car and when we are load and unloading things.

2017 Nissan Rogue AWD – CVT transmission failure at approximately 57,000 miles. Vehicle is currently undriveable. Diagnostic testing identified P0776 / Pressure Control Solenoid "B." Two independent mechanics have determined that the CVT requires complete replacement. Nissan has previously extended CVT warranty coverage and entered into class-action settlements involving CVT failures in 2014–2018 Rogue vehicles. Requesting that NHTSA record this premature CVT failure for consideration of a potential defect trend.

Failed Components: Engine valvetrain, powertrain/transmission, and electronic throttle control, directly linked to open federal safety recalls NHTSA 26V-080 and 26V-081. Safety Risk: The vehicle was sold CPO by Downey Nissan with unaddressed safety recalls. It suffers from severe engine vibration, a sharp mechanical valvetrain ticking noise, a persistent burning odor, and catastrophic transmission gear slippage that abruptly drops out of gear and slams back into drive mid-turn, creating an extreme collision hazard in traffic.

Glass on the back lift gate of the vehicle shattered when closing the driver's side door. Thankfuly this happened while the car was parked, but if it happened while driving or with others around or in the back seat, being showered with glass doesn't seem very safe. I've read reports of this happening to other cars of the same make/model. It's currently being replaced by an auto glass service center. No warrnings or messages.

My 2022 Nissan Rouge lost power and engine light came on said i engine needs servicing I Drove it to dealership they want to charge me 7300 to fix both cats and sensors. I asked about the recall on the KG bearing. The said the updated the program but my vehicle is now totally clogged and wont drive. There is a refusal to complete the NHTSA Recall No.: 25V437. As Stated in the recall: Description of remedy program: Dealers will inspect the engine oil pan for the presence of specific metal debris. This inspection will be performed free of charge for parts and labor and should take less than one (1.0) hour to complete. • For customers with the 3-cylinder 1.5L VC-Turbo engine, if no debris is detected during the inspection, dealers will replace the oil pan gasket, engine oil, and reprogram the vehicle’s Engine Control Module (ECM). This repair will be performed free of charge for parts and labor and should take less than half of one (0.5) hour to complete. The dealer refuses to drop the oil pan and wants payment for it and the oil! I have spent About $1000 so far on a rental because dealer claims they don't do that either. I need help getting this taking care of. Thank you

While driving my 2023 Nissan Rogue, the sunroof glass suddenly shattered/exploded while the vehicle was in motion. I was driving at a low speed and did not see or hear any object impact the glass before it shattered. There was no known collision or incident immediately before the glass broke. The sunroof glass shattered and fell into the vehicle. I am reporting this because I am concerned that the sunroof glass may have failed unexpectedly while the vehicle was being driven. The vehicle has approximately 22,000 miles.

At approximately 5:45pm on 10/01/26, my rear window/glass hatch shattered. It sounded like an explosion. I was driving approximately 10 mph in rush hour traffic and immediately looked to my right, then left and was surrounded by vehicles on each side. Nothing had fell off another vehicle (I was in the middle lane), not near a bridge or overpass. I drove 1.3 miles to a Murphy gas station and got out to assess the damage.
