During the week of [XXX], 2024 my Sprinter 3500, engine will not start. All lights come on dash. Called AAA insurance and they tried to jump start, vehicle would not start. Battery voltage good 12. 3 voltages. Towed the vehicle to Dealer. Dealer performed several tests, found ground W105 /3 missing securing nut. W105 is ground under the driver's seat grounded to the vehicle to provide grounding. This can only be reached by removing the driver's seat. The grounding nut was missing. The Dealer charged me $916.08. I mention to Mecedes-Benz Service advisor Brock Keck in Sacramento, it should be covered under warranty. They told me it is not covered under warranty. I bought the vehicle in 2022. I strongly believe that the ground nut was not installed properly by the Mercedes-Benz where the vehicle was assembled or manufactured. The millage in the vehicle is approximately 5,800 miles now. I am the first owner. Please help me to resolve this issue with the dealer. Thank you for your assistance to this matter. My email is [XXX] my phone number is [XXX] . INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The component that has failed has been the tread wearing out and as well as the 'layers' of the tire literally started to peel almost the size of a quarter. I am extremely uncomfortable to drive on the highway, knowing these tires are this early on starting to fall apart. The problem was confirmed by a dealer however neither the dealer or KUMHO wants to accept responsibility. These specific tires are meant for 6 years or 70k miles and this problem started around 29k miles. There were no warning lamps/ they have not been inspected by anyone as they claim it is not their problem, however last time I checked that is what warranties are meant for. I am displeased by the tires and will not pay for new ones knowing that these are prematurely falling apart.

Safety Concerns Regarding Eberspächer Diesel Heaters in My 2010 Sprinter This complaint outlines critical safety concerns identified with the two Eberspächer diesel heaters in my 2010 Sprinter van, originally installed / imported from Germany. 1. Potential Non-Compliance with Emission Standards: A recent inspection suggests that both heaters might not meet EPA/CARB emission regulations due to the absence of a required CARB sticker. While I've obtained and verified CARB compliance documentation directly from Eberspächer through a local MBUSA dealer, the lack of the sticker raises concerns. 2. Fume Intrusion into Driver Compartment: The current heater installation, positioned directly below the driver's cabin, poses a significant safety hazard. Fumes can enter the compartment in various scenarios: (a) Opening or closing the driver's door (b) Rolling down windows for activities like toll payments (c) Vehicle stopping, causing fumes to roll underneath and enter the front air intake (d) Parking between cars or in restricted airflow environments, allowing fumes to reach the front air intake 3. Improper Heater Installation: There's evidence that the heater installation deviates from the manufacturer's instructions. Specifically, the exhaust pipe might be pointed downwards, enabling debris from the road to directly enter the heater. This can lead to blockages and potentially cause a fire hazard. 4. Urgency of Addressing the Issues Given the potential violation of emission regulations and the serious safety risks associated with fume intrusion and improper installation, I urge immediate attention to this matter. Please advise on the necessary steps to ensure my Sprinter's heaters comply with regulations and are installed safely. I am attaching photos of the installation as well as notice of CARB compliance (non-compliance in my case) it is my understanding, that Daimler has shipped significant number of similar trucks across USA. thank you.

It is very difficult to start the engine, and when it starts the RPM never goes above 750. I had the van towed to a Specialist and diagnosed. Their diagnosis is that the Engine wiring harness is damaged and causing electrical malfunction which causes a number of saftey systems to prevent the vehicle from operating properly. Mercedes Benz customer service representative indicated that the diagnosis has to be done by one of their dealers and they would decide then if they want to assist. Unfortunately, the local dealer has twice failed to address an issue thatcshould have been addressed under warranty and so I have list confidence in their ability or willingness to assist. I have received an estimate of nearly $6,400.00 to replace the faulty wiring harness on a vehicle with less than 11,000 miles.

The front driveshaft for the vehicle referenced has a safety design flaw that makes it too short. There is a risk of the front driveshaft separating from the front differential splines completely and wrecking havoc to the vehicles essential driving components like steering rack, wiring harness, and potentially causing an accident. Mercedes Benz has increased wait times at their shops and are currently 5-6 weeks out to even look at the vehicles issue. Currently my vehicle is experiencing major vibrations due to the front driveshaft barely hanging on to the front differential splines as the manufactures design is not robust enough for simply driving on the road and allows the front driveshaft to simply slip off what is designed to retain the shaft to the front differential. Before every drive I have to push the drive shaft further onto the splines and am hoping it doesn't fully come off while driving. This issue began around 6k miles and now have 12k miles on the vehicle. Just now finding the main cause of the issue when discussing with other owners. MB needs to do something about this ASAP. As of right now MB has no solution.

The drive shaft to front differential (part # A9070410-09-00) in MY23 and MY24 Sprinter AWD has structural flaw in the sense that: (1) it is so short that the shaft can easily fall off during normal road conditions. (2) the clip and O-ring to secure the A9070410-09-00 is not strong enough to handle the normal stress of this driver shaft. If A9070410-09-00 falls off, severe vibration occurs and the Sprinter can only drive 2mile/hour or even stop functioning. There is a good chance that the driver can get stuck in the middle of nowhere without the reach to any help. This is a SERIOUS design failure and needs to have a recall and permanent fix ASAP! For more information, pls refer to this Youtube video by [XXX]: [XXX] My brand-new van only has 2600 miles on it and there is no offroad at all. The front drive shaft is almost completely falling off and it sits in a MB dealer for repair now. Pls address this serious safety risk ASAP! My message belongs to all vehicle manufacturers. Especially the business/commercial vehicles like mine . Which we spent most of our time inside it, during the work periods'. I would like to ask a favor to take a better attention when it comes to Safety/Comfort /look. We don't Race or Camp but work and sometimes live there. Most of the time me and my hardworking colleagues don't complain a lot. Because we don't have time. Sometimes we also wanna grab a Starbucks coffee, if they can make the drive thro clearance just a little bit higher. The future is in all of us hand, let's work together to make this life safer and more pleasure! Without discriminating each other. We don't ask for Shiny Chrome wheels. But we need you to install, all of your best safety systems without asking " Do i want or not ?" Because sometimes we might say no without know why. Until we get killed and died. I am writing this message because i got survived. I found attractive property for leases in one of RE apps. Because that address was on my way back. I came there, and parked right across the street, while idling my vehicle, dreaming of my automotive shop. "Wow I might have a Downtown View its so nice". A lots of other places says " No Automotive Businesses" even tho " Zoning was allowed " but this place was not. And just about minutes later, the car slowly came and stopped next to me with a full of young guys inside. Masks on their face, globs and guns on their hands. They dragged me down hit me with a gun , until I think about "is it real or what ?". What i remember ." Where is money, key, phone " repeatedly by mixing bad words . I told them "Take everything inside". Cause i scared and was hoping for the help. "Can my van give little sound & Light so 911 can see us ? Forgetting, you don't have that Trim . Then some how they left. Rushed to get back to my seat, pushing the emergency button and no click. I ask the guy who's riding a bike "call911' but he " no need to go work By!"

My EIS module rendered my vehicle inoperable and left me stranded in the winter and left me stranded 54 miles away from the closest repair shop. Only because this is a know issue (see below) AND I had cell phone service enough to research this problem AND I had an air compressor to blow the wet/corroded connector out AND I was lucky enough it worked was I not left in a potentially life threatening situation. The weather was below freezing and this situation could have ended up requiring rescue, or worse. The 2019+ Mercedes Sprinter EIS (Electronic Ignition System) module is bolted under the driver side dash board to the base of the A pillar where it meets with the firewall. The electrical connector of the module is pointing straight up - this is an issue because any liquids that might spill on the dash (dash cupholder) or any humidity from windshield interior condensation will drip right down the wiring and into the EIS module causing it to short out. _ If the EIS module shorts out, the vehicle will be inoperable until a new unit is fitted. _ The EIS module retails at $1800+ from Mercedes _ Had Mercedes installed the EIS module with the connector facing DOWNWARD - this moisture related issue would not exist. _ There is no drip loop provisions in the wiring. _ Mercedes is aware of the issue as they have created a plastic bag with part number A 638 546 00 35 and they are charging $20 for it. As of right now, Mercedes refuses to fix this issue preventatively. They will only repair it AFTER the EIS module has shorted out. They are refusing to treat this as a warranty claim even though it is clearly a manufacturer defect.

At high elevations, at some times soon after a cold start the throttle becomes completely unresponsive. This is not a low power issue due to altitude--even putting the throttle pedal to the floor, the RPMs remain at idle and do not move at all. After I power down and restart, it worked briefly and then again became unresponsive. Once the engine is warm, the problem has not appeared. This put me in an unsafe situation on two occasions: 1) Pulling out of a parking lot onto a 2 lane snow covered highway, the throttle became completely unresponsive while I was sitting across both lanes of traffic, leaving me exposed to a collision. I had to shut off and restart the engine to get moving. Elevation 10,700 feet. 2) In a parking lot, moving to get out of the way of a snowplow. I had to restart the vehicle 5 times before I was able to get out of the snowplow's way. Elevation 9,700.

Had 2 rims develop cracks causing loss of air pressure in tires. 1st occurred at approx. 45000 miles (2019), 2nd occurred at 110000 (2023). Both failures occurred to area of rim where welds to lock in center (with lug holes) on outer rim (where tire sits) are situated. Both failures manifested as small air leak then suddenly crack increases in size dramatically to where tire can only hold air for a few hours before deflating fully

This sprinter van is a 2500 4x4 to exit or enter the vehicle you must use the step, this requires, you to twist sideways and reach down with your foot to the step. On the seat which is attached to the metal frame there is a plastic piece which holds the seat switch, which is held on by a plastic plug and a reusable plastic rivet. As you enter or exit the van and use the step your weight pushes the leather seat against the plastic which holds the seat switch and causes the attachments to fail causing you to fall. I Have fallen twice once into traffic.
