A couple months ago our check engine light came on. Through going to the dealership and a local mechanic we found out that it's an electrical issue as well as a safety issue. The wire connections have failed. This led to the grill shutters being forced open and if they close there will be no air going to the engine which will cause the engine to seize and/or a fire, which would lead to an accident and/or death. This isn't a safety recall at this point and this is a very big concern.

Once a week or so, the vehicle will experience motive power loss while driving. Typically, it's for 3 or 4 seconds and is accompanied by a blinking red "Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System" warning light on the dashboard. This is very dangerous because for those 3 or 4 seconds, the vehicle will not accelerate/maintain speed. I've had the vehicle at the dealership for the same reason multiple times. The dealership has tried to identify the root cause but so far has not been successful.

- #11657231April 28, 2025ENGINE
While I was attempting to pass a vehicle on a two-lane highway, my engine started misfiring and I lost engine power and it almost caused a head-on accident. The engine had to be replaced because the camshaft was worn on bank 1 and after doing some research there seems to be a lot of issues with this engine and the rocker arms which wears the camshaft down. There was a lot of metal in my engine which caused them to have to replace it. I researched recalls and there is nothing but after speaking with the dealership they confirmed that there is a known issue with this engine.

Jeep starting making a light ticking sound, like it's low on oil. That wasn't the case. Took in for a tuneup, hoping that would take care of it. It didn't. Took into dealer and the camshaft, rods had been chewed up to a faulty part inside the engine. I didn't have my vehicle for two months due to waiting on warranty company. When reached out to Jeep groups, learned this is s COMMON problem. Concerned my engine could have frozen up while driving. NO warning lights or any other symptom! If my parents hadn't taught me how to listen to vehicles, it could have been very bad turnout. This cost me almost $4k. This should be investigated!!

Had to replace headlight then it went back out shortly after. The following week the other side went out. I looked it up and it showed that there were recalls for this problem. But am being told there is no recall on my vehicle for this.

I am writing to bring to your attention a matter of significant concern regarding my recent visit to your service center on April 22, 2025, for a scheduled appointment to replace the driver's side rim and two front tires. Upon post-service inspection of my vehicle, I observed that the newly installed front tires were Bridgestone, rather than Ironman, which are consistent with the original rear tires. It appears that the service department took the liberty of replacing the front tires with more expensive Bridgestone models without prior consultation or my explicit approval. After addressing this issue with the service manager, the initial compensation offered was limited to a few complimentary oil changes and tire rotations. Subsequently, the manager contacted me with an offer of one new Bridgestone tire for the rear, contingent upon my purchase of the other tire. I declined this offer, having recently invested approximately $4,000 in various services and brake work. In a third communication, the manager proposed to provide new front tires to match the existing rear tires. These fluctuating offers have left me perplexed and frustrated, as I lack both the financial resources and time to engage in such negotiations. I regret to inform you that I find this resolution unsatisfactory, given the unexpected change in tire brand and the associated increase in cost. This situation has caused considerable inconvenience and warrants a more appropriate resolution. The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while coming to a stop, there was an abnormal grinding sound while depressing the brake pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V838000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure, and a case was opened. The approximate failure mileage was 50,700. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

I was pulling into the gas station to get some gas. I'm used to use a 2-ft drive so what I could not lift my left foot to put pressure on the brake I used my right foot. It slipped off the brake and after the accelerator and I hit a small Pole stopping me from going into the gas station front door. Just could have been raised up to a work accident I had a couple weeks prior.

Transmission needs fully replaced, certified technician said the see this all the time in these Jeeps. Dealership said they had to replace one at 56k miles, this car has 85k miles, well taken care of. Research shows this is a very common issue. Jeep needs to cover these transmissions and recall!

Since I began leasing the vehicle, it has not consistently switched into electric mode, even when charged. Sometimes, it will stay in hybrid-only mode for days. Today, I received a warning of an electrical system failure. I have only had the vehicle for 3 months.

I was traveling on a highway at 65MPH in Hybrid mode. The car displayed a Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System Warning Message along with several other system failure messages in rapid succession. The battery failure icon was also on. The car lost all power and started slowing down. Luckily traffic was light and I was able to reach a point to where I was able to move to a spot on the roadside. I stopped the car and it automatically went into park and would not move out of park. After several tries I was able to start the vehicle in esave mode and it was running on the ICE. All of the errors cleared. I was able to proceed to a side road and eventually make it home. I took it to my local dealer the next day and a read of the code was a B273C indicating digital crash detection. The service manager said this is a known problem and they are waiting for a fix. Reference Star Publication S2408000063 Rev. C In most cases only the Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System Warning Message comes on for a few second and goes away. This has occurred on my vehicle multiple times with no side effects. One other time the car went into Turtle mode, which cleared after a restart. It was in town so was not an issue to pull over. This time the loss of power could have been catastrophic if traffic was heavy while traveling on a busy highway at high speeds.

When driving it will randomly shift into 4th gear very hard and stay in 4th until you turn it off. It will happen at any speed and be fine for months or do have the issues consistently for long period of time then stop. It happens with no pattern or related reasons.

I've had issues with this jeep grand cherokee 4xe randomly shutting down on the highway at speeds between 65-75 mph. The service engine and transmission lights come on and the vehicle itself dies out and will power on but will not start for about 10-15 minutes afterwards. This is the fourth time I've had the issue and the dealership can not pin point a reason/fix for the car suddenly stopping. This last time the power steering went out as well these issues have almost caused several accidents . The dealership just clears the codes after saying the can not replicate the problems I'm having and gives the car back. I've gotten to the point now after almost being rear ended trying to clear the vehicle that I no longer feel safe driving it not only for myself but the other drivers around me a car with a little over 20,000 miles should not be having these issues consistently.

- #11655614April 19, 2025SUSPENSION, UNKNOWN OR OTHER, STEERING
We have an unknown problem with a clunking/creaking noise while driving the vehicle we believe is coming from the front of the vehicle, possibly the suspension or steering. We are not sure we feel safe driving the vehicle since after taking it to the dealer three times in the past year, the dealer acknowledges the clunking but has not been able to identify and fix the issue. We have been told by the dealer it is safe to drive - but if they can't identify and fix the issue - how do they know that to be the case? Without being able to identify the cause of the noise and whatever resulting unusual wear and tear, will we have a catastrophic steering or suspension failure while driving the vehicle? Our 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4Xe Trailhawk, (purchased new) has an "air" suspension - not sure if it's an option or standard on the Trailhawk models. We have had it in to the dealer three times for this issue - this last time the dealer had the truck for 16 plus weeks. The front stabilizer bar has been replaced multiple times, the upper and lower control arms have all been replaced, all four air shocks have been replaced, and a mounting bracket replaced. The dealer told us they opened a Star case with Jeep and the Jeep engineer has been on-site to examine the vehicle. After the engineer requested three different fixes that did not fix the problem, the dealer returned the vehicle and stated they are aware the issue persists and the Jeep engineering group is working on a resolution (even though they no longer have the vehicle in their possession to test solutions). They will notify us when a repair is available.
