Passenger airbag is indicated to remain on when no one is in the passenger seat. The airbag off light comes on during warning light check but then shuts off and remains off. I do not confidence that the accurate weight is being accounted for when a passenger is in the front seat.

After pulling into my son's driveway that only has a slight downward grade, I put my Honda Ridgeline into park, shutoff the engine and then exited the vehicle. I took only a step by the driver's side mirror when the vehicle rolled back about six inches. I immediately got back into the vehicle and started it up to make sure it was in park. Both indicators on the dash and the center consol button showed the vehicle was in park. I then set the emergency brake. This incident was reported to my dealer on 2/15/24. They found no codes stored and no concerns with the transmission. They stated" advised customer vehicle may roll back until the parking brake pawl engages. This is normal operation of the transmission."

The automatic High Beams have been a issue with the Ridgeling since 2021. I have a 2023 Ridgeline and live in a area where properly working high beams are needed to work properly. Honda's dealerships have no answers to this problem, and some of the service writers aren't even aware of it. This is a defect in this vehicle that needs to be addressed. Please contact Honda and make the repair this defect

I was on [XXX] and turned into [XXX] . I was driving at 25 miles or so. I don't know if my first or second tire flat first but immediately after my airbags at right and left front and back side got deployed and created a little fire and thick black smoke. I got shock, panicked and lost control for second and hit right front wheel trim of car to probably edge of road. I called Honda Road services to tow my car to nearest Honda services. They told me that a Tower would come over to take care of me in 120 minutes and take my car to Chantilly Honda services. Unfortunately they didn’t show up for 3 hours. I stayed outside in cold weather for 3 hours. Thankfully Police came over and saw the situation and he was really surprised with defectiveness of my car airbags. so He had to call Tow company that works for Police department to get my car to the nearest Honda services. I called Landmark Honda and told them the situation. Landmark Honda wanted me to bring my car to Landmark Alexandria instead of nearest Honda services in Chantilly. I towed my Truck to Alexandria. I paid for towing although they were supposed to pay. I talked to Honda headquarter in California but they didn't care about what i said. I could die lose my limbs or hurt other people. I am a Home improvement Contractor. I had to postpone my appointments with my new clients since then. i have no car and I have been losing business. I kindly ask you to help me with this issue. Thank you. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Automatic headlight dimming does not function properly. In automatic mode it rarely turns on the high beam lights. If they are on anything bright such as a reflection from a road sign or bright building lights on the side of the road turns off the high beams. After they go off they rarely turn back on. I now only use them manually.

The incident with my 2022 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition occurred while driving on the interstate from Minneapolis back to my home in Illinois (Chicago suburbs). While taking an exit ramp to a different interstate I slowed down before the turn and then, when accelerating to merge onto the other interstate, my Ridgeline "check engine" light began flashing and the vehicle began to limp along at a maximum speed of ~40MPH. I quickly pulled off to a parking lot and arranged for a tow truck for the next day, as it was very late in the evening and very cold. The next morning, I went to meet the tow truck at the parking lot, and I started up my Honda Ridgeline with no issues (and no check engine light). It was then that I found a message board conversation titled “Check engine light flashing after freeway driving” on the internet [XXX] ) and discovered this issue had been occurring with other Ridgelines in similar conditions - i.e., long drives in cold weather where the driver slows down and then accelerates. In all cases, it seems that simply turning off the vehicle and re-starting a few minutes later fixes the problem, but not before you encounter a potentially dangerous situation with a disabled car on the road. On [XXX] I took my Ridgeline in for service at my local Honda dealership (where I had purchased the vehicle in 2022) and they were unable to find any issues or error codes stored (no error codes being stored seems to be the common occurrence with other drivers who have had this issue). In my view, this issue, while somewhat uncommon due to the particular set of circumstances needed to produce the error, presents a major safety issue for the Honda Ridgeline as it can essentially disable your vehicle while driving on the interstate. I’m hopeful that the NHTSA can work with Honda to quickly diagnose and resolve this safety issue before it leads to tragic consequences. 2023 RLT, about 1300 miles on the odometer, temperature was between 4 and 7 degrees F, it was a sunny day with clear roads. I drop 68mph for 70 miles, stopped to make a left turn, and when accelerating through the turn, the blinking orange check engine light came on and the vehicle would not accelerate beyond about 35 mph. I was towed to the nearest dealership from the location of the incident, which occurred over 400 miles from my home. It could have been fatal if there was traffic I had to merge with at the time when the engine was not allowing enough power. It happened at noon in a very small town in North Dakota. It could also have been fatal if it had happened in an area with no cell service and no traffic to stop and help as well. Thank goodness I didn't have any children with me and there was somewhere warm to wait the 2 hours for the tow truck. I found an online Honda Ridgeline owners forum where many, many people have reported this same issue: cold temperatures, going highway speeds for a certain amount of time, slowing down or stopping, and then trying to speed up to highway speeds again when the check engine light comes on and the engine limps. The Honda dealership where my vehicle was towed confirmed that I was subject to this "very rare glitch" that they know about and say there is nothing they can do to fix it and no assurances that it won't happen again. I'm not sure how to regain trust in a brand new pickup that I know has this issue that I have experienced first hand in the cold and could experience again that might result in a fatal outcome if Honda doesn't fix this known issue.

Around 25,000 miles front brakes started making screeching noise with regular stopping. I am not a hard breaker. Rotors according do the dealership have developed hot spots. Honda has changed to a coated rotor which cannot be turned. I also have a 2019 Honda ridgeline that has the non coated rotors and have had no problems with front brakes.

The contact owns a 2023 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated that the 4WD system became inoperable. The contact stated that the antifreeze was not suitable for the area he lived. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact called the dealer, who stated that the antifreeze would thicken below 35 degrees. The contact was informed that the engine would not produce enough power to move thicker coolant throughout the engine. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact was concerned about being stranded. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 1,400.

While traveling at highway speed, the glass panel of the sunroof/moonroof suddenly exploded outward without being struck by anything (i.e. rock, debris). There was no warning prior to the explosion. Glass fragments rained down into the interior of the cabin and flew off the roof of the vehicle as well. Though startling to experience, there were no injuries to me or other drivers. Other Honda owners have reported this same experience with randomly exploding sunroof glass. The vehicle was taken to a Honda dealer who refused to cover the cost of replacing the glass, falsely stating that only an impact could cause such damage. A subsequent claim has been submitted to my insurance company.

The auto headlight dimming is not functioning properly and blinds oncoming traffic quite frequently. This seems to be a known issue when investigated. It is a feature sold with the vehicle as standard equipment on this trim level. It is marketed as a convenience to assist with dimming if the operator misses the opportunity to dim for oncoming traffic. If I engage this feature, it rarely dims, and I am routinely flashed. It is concerning for the safety of the opposing vehicles, as well as road rage that could develop from not dimming for the oncoming drivers.

The automatic high beam system is dangerous. When active, the system frequently blinds oncoming drivers because the high beams remain active.

When traveling on a dark road at night the auto high beam feature of the vehicle will dim the headlights when there is nothing around (no lights, no cars, etc) and it will also fail to reactivate the high beams after passing by a vehicle with their headlights on . This feature is utterly useless and is certainly a safety hazard as the high beams cannot be used in the auto mode because their function is sporadic and non-responsive to the surroundings.

I took my vehicle in to the dealer on 1/31/2023 to address recall 23-008 (Idle stop/start switch update). I had not had any problems with it , but I had them inspect it. They performed Bulletin 23-008, PGM-FI update. On 2/16/2023, after stopping at a stoplight, the engine shut down but it didn’t start back up when I tried to proceed. A message came up on the dash saying to put the vehicle in park and press the start button. I did that and the car started. I stopped at the dealer and told them what had happened and they performed bulletin 1103A8 Warrany Extension Campaign: Adjust Valves. I haven’t had the problem reoccur, but I keep getting an intermittent message on the dash, “Auto Engine Idle Stop Unavailable “. I’ve had the vehicle back in to the dealer numerous times about the message and they tell me that they could not duplicate, or they give me a list of things that could cause the message, but none of them apply. I believe it was something that they did in the two bulletins that is causing the message to come up on the dash
