The third row seat latching mechanism will not lock the seat into place on the floor. We had a child who was sitting in the seat and the seat flipped backward. It is the left side seat in the third row. It appears the mechanism inside the seat that secures to the floorboard is missing or broke.

I was pulling into a parking spot with my foot on the brake. My 2023 Odyssey van accelerated instead of braking. There is also supposed to be an auto car warning & braking if you are about to hit a car in front of you. None of this happened! In fact, it crashed into the car in front of me. As soon as it started to accelerate, I released the brake and reapplied the brake as hard as I could. It still hit the car in front of me. It didn't look like there was any damage to their car, but I was very shaken up and now I am worried this will happen again. It happened today, April 18, 2024. My mother was in the car and was as shocked and stressed as I am as the van went from very slow to fast. My body is still shaking. I haven't had it inspected yet. I have an appointment on May 1, 2024, to go to Odonnell Honda. The woman receptionist in the service area said I may have had my foot on the gas. I did not because when I pull into a parking spot, I always have my foot on the brake and go in very slowly. As a brand-new van, I am very alarmed and very nervous it could happen again.

- #11582551April 12, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING
I am writing to urgently bring to your attention a critical issue plaguing the driver assist systems in Honda Odyssey 2018+ vehicles. Despite meticulous maintenance and adherence to manufacturer guidelines, I have encountered a persistent and alarming problem that appears to affect numerous other vehicle owners, as evidenced by online forums and discussions. The issue initially arose during a rainstorm, where I received a warning message stating, "Some Driver Assist Systems Cannot Operate: Radar Obstructed." Despite the weather clearing and thorough cleaning of both the sensors and the windshield camera, the warning persisted. Subsequently, a series of related problems emerged, including: Illumination of the BRAKE SYSTEM LIGHT Malfunctioning adaptive cruise control Faulty collision mitigation system Inoperative road departure mitigation system These errors not only pose a significant safety risk to myself and others on the road but also indicate a systemic issue with the vehicle's safety systems. As my vehicle is just past the three-year mark and out of warranty, I am apprehensive about incurring substantial costs for dealership repairs, especially considering the widespread nature of these complaints among Honda Odyssey owners. Extensive research reveals that I am not alone in experiencing these issues. Multiple reports and discussions online highlight similar complaints from other Honda Odyssey 2018+ owners, particularly following exposure to adverse weather conditions. Therefore, I implore the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to conduct a thorough investigation into this matter. It is crucial to identify the underlying cause of these recurring issues and hold the manufacturer accountable for any design flaws or defects contributing to the malfunction of critical safety systems. Furthermore, I urge NHTSA to prioritize public safety and take immediate action to ensure affected vehicles are promptly recalled or repaired to prevent further incident

- #11582069April 10, 2024ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The car appears to power up on its own even after it has been shut off. I have noticed that the car was on even after I turned it off, so I have been even more diligent about making sure it was turned off. One day I turned off the car. About an hour later, I heard the speakers in my car blaring. When I was finally able to reach the car the sound was off and the car was black. I didn't even get a chance to open the door and turn it off. It just shut down on its own. Yesterday, when I went to start my car, there was a message that the battery was low. As if the car had been on for a while. But when I got in the car it wasn't on. This appears to be a known problem from other Odyssey owners. Specifically I am seeing issue with 2018 models. However mine is a 2023 model.

- #11576348March 9, 2024SEAT BELTS
Over the summer when our Honda odyssey was only a couple months old (we had bought it brand new) my 7 year old son ended up with the seatbelt in the back passenger seat wrapped around his neck! He was playing with the seatbelt and somehow got it around his neck. I was driving and his siblings told me what was happening. I of course quickly pulled over into a parking lot and I couldn’t believe how tight it was wrapped around his neck in such a short period of time! As I was trying to loosen it it just kept getting tighter and tighter. My daughter ran into a Taco Bell and asked them for scissors and the workers couldn’t believe the situation we were in said there’s no time to even call 911 they had to cut him lose. So we had to cut the seatbelt with scissors to save his life as it was super tight on his neck. It was an awful experience I never could have imagined happening. I see that this seatbelt locking system is placed on new cars and I think it’s so dangerous. I now have no seatbelt on the back seat of my car as it had to be cut off and the dealership said it’s thousands to be replaced. All they said was I’m sorry that happened to you. I think it’s awful cars are made this way. My son could have died.

Tired popped and all side airbags deployed - no collision or accident. No damage to the car except the wheel. Children were in the car and could have been seriously injured from airbags that deployed when there was not a serious reason for them to deploy.

- #11574729February 29, 2024TIRES:SIDEWALL
There was a slow leak in the left rear tire overnight while the car was parked in driveway. In the morning the low tire pressure indicator light was on in the car. I drove the car to the Honda dealer to fill the tire with air. Overnight while parked in the driveway the tire leaked again and in the morning there was a low tire pressure warning again. I left the car with the Honda dealer and they couldn't find anything after testing the tire so they replaced the vale stem, Schrader valve and tire bead seal. On 2/27/2024 Honda found a pinhole leak in the sidewall of the tire. Honda customer service informed me to contact Bridgestone/Firestone. The tire will be inspected by a Firestone owned tire center and I am waiting to hear the solution Firestone will offer.

- #11573995February 26, 2024SERVICE BRAKES, WHEELS, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
I wish to express my deep concern regarding the ongoing safety issues with the car I purchased in December 2022. Since April of the following year, I have repeatedly experienced heightened noise and vibration originating from the rear wheels. Despite numerous visits to the Honda 385 dealership and their assurance that they have documented and forwarded the concerns to Honda representatives for review, resolution has remained elusive. Regrettably, after an extended period of waiting, I was informed on February 26th, 2024, that the issue has been declined. This decision is profoundly troubling, particularly considering the potential safety implications. It is evident that a new car exhibiting such significant damage to the wheels, accompanied by pronounced noise and vibration, poses a serious safety hazard, especially during highway driving conditions. The persistent nature of these issues underscores the urgency of addressing them promptly and comprehensively. As a conscientious consumer, I cannot in good faith continue to operate a vehicle that may compromise the safety of myself, passengers, and other road users. I implore Honda and the dealership to prioritize the resolution of this matter with the utmost urgency, ensuring that the vehicle is restored to a safe and reliable condition. Furthermore, I urge for a thorough reevaluation of the safety concerns raised, recognizing the paramount importance of ensuring the integrity and reliability of the vehicles entrusted to consumers. It is my sincere hope that swift action will be taken to rectify these safety issues and restore confidence in the vehicle's performance and reliability.

The 2021 Honda Odyssey with the VIN provided had 1) Auto Stop Idle Failure in June 2023 where the car would turn off completely at a stop (intersection, stop sign, etc.) and the car would have to me restarted. Sometimes restarting more than once. Honda replaced the car battery and conducted a software update. 2) About 7 months later in February 2024 the dashboard displayed two warnings A) Auto Engine Idle Stop System Problem and B) Charging System Problem. Honda had performed a second software update just prior to the second occurrence on 1/25/24. As of 2/15/24 Honda still has the car and is going to replace a battery sensor.

Recall for driver side view mirror completed. However the replacement mirror is distorted and causes blurred, wavy, double images. This replacement mirror needs to be addressed as soon as possible since proper representation of objects is distorted and poses a high safety concern. This issue has been reported in several forums as well.

Mid November 2023, at 9 am, between Livermore and Pleasanton, California, USA, while driving my wife's 7000 miles Honda Odyssey Sport 2023 sunroof glass imploded. An extremely loud bang noise followed by a rain of micro crystals over my head, driver, passenger and back places. My right ear was numbed and when I could manage to stop, I got pinched by the micro crystals everywhere, while my sunroof pieces of glass kept falling over me. Immediately I filed a claim with NHTSA (which didn't received any email or case # after a long call explaining what happened); also visited the dealership who sent me home and had been giving me excuses during 3 months already. Supposedly the replacement part is not available and not covered by warranty. This is unacceptable for an international brand like Honda. I've owned Honda cars for years and my family too, never thought this could happen to me while driven our best Honda at home. A sunroof SHOULD be laminated NOT tempered-only, and Honda should address their sunroofs defects asap. This is such a risky situation and I know this had happened before to many persons driving Hondas and Acuras. Please DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT NOW before somebody dies!

The front windshield cracked on its own on [XXX] evening around 8 pm while the vehicle was parked. I stopped at gas station to fill gas. When I was done pumping gas and sat in the car, I can hear the crack unfold and could not believe my ears and eyes. A big crack on bottom side of front windshield. Crack is smooth to touch both inside and outside but clearly visible. No object struck the windshield. The temperature was very frigid here in cleveland, ohio at that time.
