FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
Driving in a neighborhood going 25 mph no one in front of me or behind me and the car flashes BRAKE makes a beep and then just locks the brakes and I skid to a stop. Took the vehicle to the dealership to check on it and they could not find anything wrong with it however the person said that the systems are not perfect, and things can happen. If someone was behind me, I would have caused an accident.

The contact owns a 2020 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the contact heard an explosive sound coming from the vehicle without incident. The contact pulled over to inspect the vehicle but discovered no damage; however, upon resuming driving, she heard rushing wind coming from the panoramic sunroof. Upon pulling back the sunroof cover, the contact discovered a significant-sized hole in the sunroof. An unknown dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the repair was not covered under warranty. The vehicle was not inspected or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000.

The contact owns a 2023 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that after he parked and turned off the vehicle, he pressed the button to the electronic parking brake, but the parking brake failed to engage. A message was displayed on the instrument panel to “Take the vehicle to the dealer”. A dealer was notified of the failure and an appointment was scheduled. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 3,700.

The reverse camera works poorly and is not clearly especially if it’s wet outside. Water smears on the camera more easily than other cars I have owned even if it’s not actively raining. My 2013 g37 and 2017 Mercedes glc300 never had visibility issues for the camera and the Infiniti is 11 years older. Honda states it’s normal. I think it’s a bad design that allows camera lens to hold water on it. It’s a potential danger when reversing during rain or if car is wet.

In August 2022, I started my car and all indicators on the dash were lit. I took the car to the Honda dealership and they explained it was an oil dilution issue which was covered by Honda's extended warranty. Three weeks later after the repair, I started my car and all indicators on the dash were lit again. I took it back to the dealership and they diagnosed a problem with the fuel injectors. The service person that it was not covered under the warranty or a recall, but that they had noticed other CR-V owners experiencing the same issue. I had to have my fuel injectors replaced which cost me $1,491.76. It appears that the fuel injector issue is present on the Pilot, Ridgeline, and Odyssey vehicles manufactured around the same time as my CR-V, but a recall has not been issued. I filed a complaint with Honda to which they replied there was nothing they could do unless the problem was reported and investigated (by whom was unclear). The complaint has been archived by Honda but can be reopened should a recall be issued.

SEATS
the lever on my back right seat will not release seat down. Needed to put a large item in my car and ended up having to tie it to the roof instead and drive very slowly on the interstate since my seat would not go down. did not feel safe and want to get this figured out asap since I am a furniture dealer. I popped the plastic "cap" off to see what is causing the issue... part of the white plastic piece of the upper lever has snapped off and that is causing the lever to not catch and seat not go down. I have not taken it anywhere yet as I can see what the problem is and believe those plastic parts are not sold separately so I suspect I need a whole new lever. There were zero warning signs or messages, lever just did not release starting a couple days ago. Thanks

STRUCTURE:BODY
The drivers side door is the only key hole available to unlock or lock the car. This key hole is jammed at a diagonal angle and will not accept a key in any way. Thus, whatever state the car is currently in (locked in my case) is the state that it will stay. No professional has checked it out. It is easily inspectable. There were no warnings by the car that this would happen, however, within 24 hrs before the door lock was jammed, the car wouldn't stay locked and would unlock and release the trunk door on its own while unattended.

The engine failed and I was stranded 60 miles from home.all the dash lights were blinking and I couldn’t get the parking brake to unlock . It is available for inspection . I was stranded at a service station with another senior citizen for three hours in 100 degree plus weather. We were stranded and our safety was compromised as we waited for help . I had it towed to a dealer 20 miles away . Rented a hotel and got an Uber to the car the next morning . The auto repair person examined the car and determined that the turbo fan had disintegrated and was sucked into the engine . After further rested he reported the engine had failed and it would cost $8 000. Many of the lights and sensors suddenly began to blink . The car lost some power but we were able to limp to the gas station . Hello [XXX] , Here are my technicians findings, due to the metal moving through the oil passages he recommends replacing the engine and turbo "verified engine running rough. retrieved operative dtcs p0299(PGM-FI) and u0416-68(IDSS). U0416-68 likely caused by millimeter wave radar software. rec. update. p0299 and rough running. turbo underboost issue. road tested and captured snapshots. found turbo not boosting. found intercooler and pipes not leaking. found evap purge not leaking. inspected and found turbocharger turbine damaged. turbine debris through intake system from turbo to throttle body and into intake. on road test dtc p2101 electric throttle control malfunction was set and vehicle entered limp mode. found significant debris in throttle body likely causing dtc. suspect debris has entered engine and potential cause for further problems. can only speculate cause for turbo failure. oiling system may be cause. teardown would be necessary for further identification of cause. engine and turbo replacement recommended" Please let me know if you have any other questions i can help answer. SUSPENSION
Wheels are significantly misaligned causing tire wear and vibration while driving. Rear struts need to be replaced and are not functioning properly. Rear control arm needs to be replaced with adjustable control arm to achieve proper alignment. Wheel alignment is more that 2 degrees off with normal vehicle usage.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
This is the second occurrence of a similar problem. First problem occurred on Sept 14, 2023 and service slip is attached. While driving the car lost power but I was able to regain power but I got adaptive cruise control system problem, collision mitigation braking system problem, smart entry system problem -see dealer warnings. Pulled into a parking lot but when I shut car off got accessory mode on screen. Navigation system remained active and could not restart car or lock car doors. Called service and they jump started the car and I drove car to dealer. Dealer said car had water in fuse box. I did not drive thru any water and car was not in any flood area. I asked if this could be a problem with the electric transmission as I had seen info on the internet about this. No one seems to know the new recall I was talking about. Car is currently at dealer waiting for parts.

This was first noticed in May 2023 . All the advanced warning signs were flashing And the car would intermittently stall in traffic . The dealer said the fuel injectors were faulty and needed to be redesigned. The dealer said that these fuel injectors were on back order with no availability date. If I continue to drive the vehicle with faulty fuel injectors the catalytic converter would be damaged If I continue to drive the vehicle with faulty fuel injectors the catalytic converter would be damaged. When I bought the car I bought the gold level easy care extended warranty period 10 year a 120000 miles . They deny covering this repair because there was residue on the fuel injectors period period my point of course was they were faulty by design not by my neglect period. It is now mid-september and I have been without a vehicle since June. There was a recall on the fuel injectors of later models of Honda's 2018 to 2023.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
All advanced emergency systems kept flashing randomly Without any notice the brakes would lock up. It indicated that the emergency brake had engaged. I could not go forwand I could not I couldn't go in reverse. I was unable to disengage the brake. I went on YouTube And attempted to disengage then randomly I was able to do this period. After having happened intermittently I brought it to the dealer period they scoped it and found no problem. It was a random occurrence there was no rhyme or reason why this was happening . After a while At the dealers it occurred and the dealer said it was the electronic breaking system . This was an extreme safety issue because I did not know when the car was going to stop. It didn't matter if I was going fast or slow it just happened.
