- #11630462December 12, 2024SERVICE BRAKES
Our car was parked in our driveway for hours - at [XXX] on [XXX], our Ring camera captured our CRV roll down the driveway as if its parking brake completely failed/disengaged (the tires are rolling, it is not sliding). It then crashed into our shed. We are so grateful our children were not outside playing. The car wouldn’t turn on so we jumped it - once the power was back, there was a brake hold system problem light on it. We had it towed to a Honda dealership who has not inspected it yet. We have an insurance claim open for the cosmetic damage to the front of the car. Progressive Claim #[XXX] We have a case open with Honda - I spoke to corporate on the phone this morning about it. Case number: [XXX] And to wrap this up, this is terrifying. We have two young children. We bought a Honda to keep us and our kiddos safe - this needs to be remedied before someone gets seriously hurt. As my car was warming up, I was standing near the driver door and hear a *tink* noise. When I got into the car, I saw that my driver side mirror had a single vertical crack straight down the middle. There was no point of impact and when I first approached my car not even 5 minutes prior, the mirror was perfectly intact. For all intents and purposes, the mirror has spontaneously cracked. The dealership I took it to has refused to replace the mirror under warranty although my car is less than two years old and only has 10000 miles. The crack distorts visibility considerably. This is a known issue with 23-24 CRVs with a lengthy thread on Reddit detailing similar experiences.

While driving on interstate 140 doing about 70 we heard a loud noise and then we also heard the wind coming above the cover to our sunroof. After stopping to examine what happened it appears that our sunroof was damaged and cracked by either and outside force or possibly a spontaneous explosion as has been reported elsewhere on the Internet. We had the glass replaced when we got to our destination in NJ but they couldn't repair the tracks the powered roof slides on due to damage to the rails or brackets. They replaced the glass and told me not to operate the window motor until the dealer can investigate further.

Long story short, I was driving my car and had noticed that when the engine would turn on from EV mode, it would idle rough and sometimes sound like it was struggling. I had it checked when the recall came in for my steering gearbox and they said nothing was wrong. Cue 600 miles later, every check engine light comes on and my car is loud as it gets. I call and take it to Honda and they tell me that since my car “cleared the code” itself, they can’t find it and I have to wait for it to maybe come back. As of yesterday, I went cause it started doing the same stuff as described above and they ran diagnostics on it. All 4 of my fuel injectors on the car have failed and need to be replaced. My car has less than 11k miles on it and all 4 of my injectors have gone bad? This isn’t just a me issue this is going on all over cause the service manager called another rep and the dude said he has seen it before too.
