I had an appointment today with Southern motors Honda in Savannah, Georgia at 9 AM. Due to a snowstorm yesterday they were unable to do the repair today. We were not notified of this and my husband drove an hour in icy conditions to get this recall repaired. They told him they do not know when they can get the repair done. When I called on Tuesday to try to reschedule due to the incoming snowstorm, she replied that someone will call me because their recalls schedules were out as far as June. Meaning I would not be able to get the repair done until June. I asked her if my car was still safe to drive and she said she could not confirm that. No one returned my call. I will be driving my car on Saturday to go on vacation in Florida. Will my car be OK to drive? - #11637916January 23, 2025SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
While driving the Automatic Emergency Braking System engaged for no reason. I was driving on [XXX] in NJ when another car passed me on the right . My car slammed the brakes on. The other car did not get in front of me but stayed in the right lane. If traffic was heavy this could have caused a major accident. Another instance I was driving on [XXX]. in Manahawkin, NJ and going around a bend in the road there was a parked car. My car slammed the brakes on. This has happened several other times also for no reason. Each time a warning sound went off. I brought the car in for service and reported it to Honda. They inspected it doing some type of scan and said there was no problem. The service advisor showed me how to turn the system off if I didn't feel safe. Yes my car is available for inspection and I am attaching the service report showing I did report it. I'm writing you because I read an article showing you are looking into this in other Honda cars and my car is not listed. On [XXX], on a vehicle I purchased new only 5 days ago on [XXX] I had an incident where I put the vehicle in reverse to back out of a parking spot and the backup camera came on and I am 100% sure I was in reverse and when I hit the gas I went forward, instead of in reverse. I put it in park and back in reverse and the same thing happen again. Finally, I turned the vehicle off and then it worked properly on the restart. There was some sort of error between the electronics and mechanical parts that was extremely concerning and dangerous, especially traveling with a 1 year old baby in the backseat. - #11637862January 23, 2025POWER TRAIN, FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The system’s hybrid lithium ion battery froze and initially would not communicate the smart key to the vehicle. Then when it finally did, the system power was cut in half due to safety emissions problems. Unknown at this time if Honda will have a fix for this situation. I fear this could result in a safety situation if power were to be cut unannounced. The vehicle has been brought to dealer. And 4 exact vehicles had the same problem on January 23 2025, at bedard bros. Honda Cheshire, Ma.

On January 15th while driving home with my son I attempted to accelerate around a truck when I hit approximately 60 mph the vehicle stopped accelerating and began to slow down. I did notice that the "charge bar" for the hybrid battery was indicating that it was charging. The car continued to decelerate and I pulled to the side of the road. The check engine light was flashing. I turned the vehicle off for a minute and started it back up. The car drove fine and I was able to make it home. The dealership said there were no codes saved and they had no explanation. This was a the third time in the past year this has occurred and no one can tell me what the codes are or how to fix it.

I am reporting a dangerous malfunction of the CMBS system, and I don't know if the fuel pump recall, which my Honda dealer will repair on 2/3/25, has any affect on the CMBS, causing the car to brake without cause/randomly, when no vehicle or anything else is near. Last year I was almost hit from behind on the Harlem River Drive when it happened, and last week on the Palisades Parkway, an equally dangerous situation, and the car behind had to swerve into the left lane to avoid hitting me. It has happened a few times when I am on local less populated roads. Honda owner websites have several reports of the same thing I experienced, but Honda reports that it can't find the problem and therefore can't fix it. I have tried to document in what conditions it happens, e.g., broad daylight, night time, accelerating, maintaining same speed, or what other activity is happening on dashboard console, but can't detect a pattern, seems random. I use this car for only myself now, and not my family, for fear we could all be wiped out, even though it was purchased to be a family vehicle. What recourse do owners have?

The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20-25 MPH, the brakes suddenly activated. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal and continued driving. The contact stated the road was uneven due to construction and there was metal covering over the parts of the road being worked on. The brake light flashed on the instrument panel, advising the driver to apply the brakes while there was no other vehicle in front of the contact to activate the sensor. The failure occurred intermittently. The dealer was informed of the failure but had not diagnosed the vehicle. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.

I recently noted that the steering wheel “sticks”, requiring a little extra effort in order to perform any slight lane correction and consequently requiring immediate additional correction from the opposite direction. This is very disconcerting especially at high speeds. After doing some online research, I found that the later models of the CRV and many other Hondas and Acuras are being recalled to correct this issue. This car has only 22,000 miles on it. I feel that it should be part of the recall. This is dangerous.

1) On 3 occasions the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) has self activated and the car attempted to come to a complete stop. The 1st incident, 10/19/24, happened while driving 35-40 mph while changing lanes, a red BRAKE light and alarms sounded bringing the car to a complete stop. While there was traffic around me, no one was directly in front of me or close enough to have required this to activate. A vehicle traveling behind came inches from rear-ending me. The 2nd incident, 11/9/24 concerns me the most, happening 3 weeks after the first incident while on the highway traveling 65 mph. I was in the left lane of multi-lane traffic. While there were vehicles two lanes to my right, there was no one directly in front of me by 100 yards. Again, alarms, red BRAKE light, and the car proceeded to come to a complete stop. The car felt like it was floating and for a moment, I felt like my life was over as the car was out of control. The 3rd incident, 12/9/24 happened 9 days after it was in for service, while traveling 30 mph in town. 2) The 1st incident avoided an accident because of the alertness of the driver behind me. The second incident, at 65 mph, is of the most concern, as for a few moments, I felt like my life was over. This incident is also causing me to have PTSD symptoms while continuing to drive, it has required me to see an MD. 3) An appointment was available about 3 weeks after the second incident. They were not able to replicate it or find anything wrong with the vehicle. After speaking about my concerns after the 3rd incident to the dealership, they have recommended that I turn off the safety equipment. While I have spoken with Honda America, they do not want to get involved unless there is a recall by you, the NHTSA. Nothing has been reported to the police but I have spoken to my insurance agent regarding liability if I turn the safety equipment off. 4) BRAKE light and alarms occurred at the same time as the braking.

Rear liftgate struts did not hold the liftgate up and it hit me in the head. Outside temperature was 12 degrees. Aside from a minor bump and some humiliation, no injury done. But I had to hold the tailgate door to put my mailman bag in the trunk because it wouldn't stay open.

Since new, TPMS fails to warn of a low tire unless the car is driven for 5 miles. The TPMS in this car is ABS-based, and each wheel does not have an individual TPMS sensor, rather the wheel speed is what determines if the car has a low tire or not. Brought to Honda several times, could not duplicate, says TPMS performs as it should. Recently had a flat, 3/4 tires were inflated to 37 PSI and the left rear had 4 PSI. Warning light did NOT come on. Drove on low tire for 2.5 miles before noticing I had a flat tire from a nail. AAA came, put the "donut" on the car, and within another 2.5 miles, the TPMS warning light came on, followed by "TPMS System Problem." Not the first time this happened, but I had to buy a new tire because I drove on it flat - which was ~ $267 in Costco for a Michelin Defender 2. Luckily, I did not drive too long of a distance that would've damaged the wheel, but this is problematic especially if you're on the highway. As you can tell, a 4-year-old car with 74K on it, I do a lot of driving. This needs to get rectified.

The vehicle seems to get a mind of its own and around turns on the highway or by curved roads with a barrier, the vehicle slows down. This has happened quite a few times in different scenarios.

On several occasions my automatic emergency braking has engaged when there is no car in front of me. Typically this happens when another car is in the left turn lane and my car is passing it. The other vehicle is completely in the other lane and I am in my lane. There is no visible obstruction to my vehicle's path. This posses a significant damage of me being rear ended by any car following too closely to my car. This has happened on numerous occasions.

I brought my 2023 Honda CR-V into my local dealership on December 7, 2024 to address a “creaking” noise coming from the front end of the vehicle. Upon checking in with the service adviser, I was advised that my vehicle had 2 active safety recalls - the fuel pump, and the EPS gear box. I received an email from the dealership with an “inspection video” attached. Within the video, the technician states, “As far as the noise concern that you’re having, the only creaking noise I was able to hear, was the noise from the electronic brake motor, which is a normal characteristic of this vehicle… couldn’t find anything else going on”. Upon picking up my vehicle, I was advised the same by the service adviser, and was further advised that someone would be calling me as soon as the part came in to fix the EPS recall. On January 17, 2025, I called the dealership to inquire about when they anticipated on being able to fix the recall, as it had been approximately 6 weeks since I was advised that someone would be calling me when the part arrived. During this phone call, I was advised that the part had been steadily in stock for the past couple of weeks, and that I could bring in my vehicle anytime to fix the recall. On January 18, 2025, I brought my vehicle back to the dealership for the repair of the recall, and further explained to the service adviser that I was still hearing the “creaking” noise, as well as a “metallic” clicking noise coming from the steering wheel upon hard left turns. Approximately 5 hours later, I received a call from the service adviser explaining that the technician was able to identify both noises that I had described, and while they were able to replace the recalled part, it did not resolve the issue, and that my vehicle was in need of a steering rack replacement. She further explained that they were not authorized to replace the steering rack under the terms of the safety recall, and that the part is not covered under the factory warranty.
