Oil pressured sensor went bad $2500 fix from dealer. In Korea this is a recall. The Genesis forums are full of complaints regarding same issue. The factory should cover this but the 10 year 100000 mile warranty does not cover it since it is considered an electrical part.

The contact owns a 2024 Genesis G80. The contact stated while driving at undisclosed speeds, the passenger’s side rear corner blind spot sensor intermittently became inoperable. The contact was unaware of any warning lights being illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed, and it was determined that the radar detector was the cause of the failure. AC stops running during very hot days, air flow stops and heat inside the car gets dangerously high. There are multiple complaints about this in a Genesis blog, and dealers are unable to reproduce the problem to find the problem. I contacted Genesis America and they cannot do anything because service technicians are unable to diagnose the problem. Genesis MUST do something about this. I can provide snapshots of the blog with the multiple complaints. This started sometime in the 2023 summer.

Whenever I drive long distance like 1 or more hours, AC has problem. It worksd fine in short local distance. I see a lot of drivers have the same issue if you click the link below. During the hottest season, it can become very dangerous. I live in San Angelo, TX, and there is no Genesis dealership in here. Hyundae dealership couldn't figure it out. The nearest Genesis dealership takes 3 hours from my house. I paid for extended warranty which will expire within 4 months, and its useless unless it can get fixed. [XXX] (It's not a easy fix to Genesis service.) Please help me to resolvbe the issue. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

- #11604092July 23, 2024EXTERIOR LIGHTING
When driving at night and using the headlight switch's flash feature, the headlights go out completely when in AUTO mode. In manual mode, the headlights will be constantly on bright and will not allow the lights to dim. I took the car to the dealership and they confirmed what I was describing and said that the multifunction switch is faulty. I had a prior year Hyundai that has the same type of switch and was having the same issues reported. A TSB was issued for that vehicle to have the multifunction switch replaced. Seeing as how these vehicles are the same exact vehicles (just under a different brand name) and are having the same issues, I'm wondering if the Genesis should be covered under the same bulletin.

Genesis issued the recall in mid-February and there is still not a remedy. We are supposed to park our auto outside and not in the garage. As we live in Florida and it is very hot and it is hurricane season, it is intolerably hot to park outside and, in the event of a hurricane or thunderstorm with hail, we cannot park outside without risking damage to our auto. It has been nearly five months since the recall which should be sufficient time for Genesis to have a solution to the problem. Also, they are not offering any compensation for the additional hardship due to having to park outside such as having to wash the car more frequently. I will also be contacting my congressman to followup with your agency.

When turning, steering wheel sticks and does not return to center. It is necessary to use some additional effort to force the wheel back to center. No warning lamps or diagnostic trouble codes. Clear safety issue that has been documented by numerous other owners of the Genesis G80, and a known issue by Hyundai Motors / Genesis, as they will replace the Rack Mounted Motor-Driven Power Steering Assembly under the manufacturer's warranty. My vehicle is a few months out of warranty, with estimated repair cost of approximately $5k. For all owners of a 2018 Genesis G80, the warranty should be extended to cover this defective part, or a safety recall instituted. See Genesis TSB # 20-ST-004HG.
