The driver side door started popping when opening and closing door. After a couple days it got stuck and wouldn’t fully close. When I did fully close the door the check arm disconnected. The window will not move much since check arm broke. I have not had this inspected at a dealership but plan to. The only light that comes on is a door ajar light comes on occasionally and I have to shut door again.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford Escape. The contact stated while opening the front driver's side door, the door made an abnormal popping sound. Additionally, the contact stated that the door failed to open wide enough or close securely. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times and the dealer applied a lubricant to the door, and the door was adjusted; however, the failure persisted. The contact also stated that the door only opened 6-8 inches wide, causing him to slide in or out when entering or exiting the vehicle. The dealer informed the contact of the door weld failure, and that the manufacturer had determined that the door needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 17,000.

At approximately 1,000 miles on 2 separate occasions while traveling on the interstate, roughly 10 minutes apart, an audible chime and visual alert within the speedometer cluster appeared “engine coolant over temperature” for approximately 10 seconds. The temperature gauge within the cluster indicated normal, midway within the span of the gauge. The following day prior to starting the vehicle, a cold start essentially, the coolant level was “full”. I ran a “check engine” check with no stored codes in temporary or permanent storage. My 2023 Ford Escape has the 1.5L EcoBoost engine. When the warnings appeared, there was no reduction in engine power(limp mode) and no signs of steam while looking in the rear view mirror.

I have a foot operated lift gate and I constantly have to find the exact spot for it to open. Twice it lifted and while I was putting groceries in the back it came back down on me. The first time in smacked the back of my head and left a big knot. The second time it caught my shoulder and then I was able to get out of the way. I thought if the lift gate touched something coming down that it would go back up. It is a 2022 and does not even have 3000 miles on it. No I have not contacted the dealer. I have been extremely ill and it slipped my mind. Thank you very much for a quick reply.

The middle hinge of front door has broke off inside the door and has my window “pinched” and no longer able to be rolled up or down. Occasionally the rod that is broken off will prevent me from closing my door all the way and will come unhinged going down the road. Was 500 miles over warranty (took me a few days to bring it in due to getting a day off approved) and FORD says it’s $2500 to fix their safety flaw.

In the fall of 2022, the driver door on my 2021 Ford Escape would not close properly and I took to the Ford Dealership as I told them it felt unsafe as I felt the door wanted to fall off when driving as the door was physically moving in and out. They laughed at me and said that would never happen. After two visits, they realized the weld had broken on the door and said they would order a new one. They said they had never seen that on a passenger vehicle. It took 12 weeks for the door to arrive and they first said they would cover the rental vehicle and then came back the next day and said they would not cover a rental vehicle even when I said I felt unsafe driving it. So I kept driving it because it was my only vehicle. Ford Corporate tried to charge me $571.00 to pay for my part of the repair. They also dismissed that it was a larger problem. I have documentation regarding these interactions. The dealer stepped in and covered my portion of the repair. After they replaced the door, I reported the door appeared to be falling of the hinges and they investigated and said because they do not replace doors at the dealership often, they improperly installed the door as one of the hinge bolts was already missing. In April, 2023, I traded my 2021 Escape in for a 2022 Escape as I did not feel safe because of the door and the dealer agreed. It cost an additional $5,000 to get out of the lease, but it was worth my safety.

Ford is not recalling their ford escape and broncos. I tired to get my state inspection done at two places for my 2021 ford escape and was told that they can not connect to the system due to faulty programs from ford. I was told to go to ford and they wanted ti charge me $199.99 to update the faulty software. They said it is a known problem and ford isn’t/hasn’t recalled it.

Purchased the SUV March 4, 2023. Within the first couple of days, when coming to a stop, backing out, slowing down the brakes makes this horrendous sound. Took it into the dealership and learned of the tsb of the rotors and brakes. They also changed my oil without my permission. Upon getting my SUV back within 2 days it continues with that horrendous noise backing out, slowing down, coming to a stop and stopping. Took it back again and they changed a rotor. The service department is closed on the weekends. Immediately upon getting my vehicle it does it again, but it was a Friday. This time, I take my SUV into the dealership and explain what it's doing. They have a tech take a ride. It makes a faint noise, of course, but he heard it. Now my vehicle the brakes are squealing so loud that you would think I would need new brake pads. My vehicle goes back into the dealership for the 3rd time on Thursday! The service department is absolutely clueless on how to fix this issue! Absolutely clueless!
