I was traveling on the highway around 60-65 miles per hour, then on my infotainment system I got a notification that said "Low Oil Pressure" the car then started slowing down. Even though I was not needing an oil change, I kept driving looking for a place to see if there was someplace open to let me know what is wrong. Then after getting off an exit I drove about another mile before the car just gave out, would not turn on or anything. After getting my car towed at the Ford Dealership they told me that I was going to need a new engine, they said they found metal shavings in my oil from the engine. The way my safety (and the other passengers) was put at risk is by the car immediately slowing down on the highway without any other warning. They replaced the engine but it is the same old one, it is available for inspection.

Never had a problem with car. Driving from Omaha to Austin tx and on the interstate outside of Ft Worth, oil pressure light came on and started dinging and I lost my ability accelerate. Thankfully was able to get off interstate safely. My car was towed and I was told by repair shop that I need a new engine. Ford knows that these engines are bad and refuses to recall the vehicle. I just want my voice to be heard!

The car steadily lost acceleration power until it wouldn't go above 3k RPM. The car started slowing down and the "low engine oil pressure" warning appeared on the dashboard display. When I pulled off the highway into a parking lot to check the issue, I could hear the engine whirring and knocking, indicating there being almost no oil in the engine despite the dipstick showing full oil and there being no visible leaks. Driving the car would presumably lead to severe damage to the engine.

Only July 8, 2023 I was driving 75MPH in a 75MPH zone approximately 200 miles from home when I received a warning on my dash "change oil soon." I pressed OK to dismiss the alert. Immediately after my oil pressure light came on, and my check engine light. The car started to sputter and I lost power. On the highway, far from home my children and I suddenly had no power and were in danger. I was scared and had the car towed at my expense to the closest dealership. Here I was told the engine needed to be replaced because of a known issue with the tensioner belt in these engines. My engine was seized. I have been without a car since that date.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford EcoSport. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle failed to accelerate above 65 MPH. The check engine warning light and wrench symbol warning were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the hose and gasket on the turbocharger needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the local dealer but was not diagnosed because there was a hole in the engine. The vehicle was not repaired. While driving, the no oil pressure message was displayed. There was oil on the highway. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who stated that the failure was due to the engine and oil pressure. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000.

The car, (oil pump), stopped pumping oil to the engine. Was driving along, the check oil light came on, then it stopped moving. All the warning lights lit up. There was plenty of oil in the car.

Oil pump failure causing entire motor to need to be replaced. Motor failed at 60,400 miles just outside of warranty while going down the interstate at 70 miles an hour. Ford has offered to do nothing with the repair and the engine is on back order for 6 months. This is a know issue already under investigation by the NHSTA and i want to add my case.

A low oil pressure indicator appeared. Car began to sputter. Heard a loud boom under the hood. Car began to slow and would not accelerate. Engine died. Was able to get Car to the side of the road. We were stuck in the middle of nowhere, with our special needs child in the car with us. This is a potentially dangerous situation. Called for a tow to the dealership. Was told that the car could not be towed there due to dealership being closed, and for some unfathomable reason, the dealership did not have a drop off lot. Having no other choice, i had to pay an extra $100 dollars to have the car towed to my regular mechanic. He determined the the oil pick-up tube was blocked, the turbo was broken, and that the engine should be replaced. Total cost so far has been over $700. Was told by Ford to have the car towed to the nearest Ford dealership which was in Belvidere. The dealership was going to charge me $400 for an unrelated repair, before they would look for "other problems". Contacted Ford. They told the dealer to do a proper diagnostic and repair. Got a call this morning saying they replaced the tubo. However, they did not replace the timing belt which is known to be the common cause of the problem. And they want to charge me a deductible for what is clearly a faulty Ford engineering issue. As my research has shown this to be a fairly common failure with the Ford eco-boost engine. A total recall on this engine is clearly and urgently needed. Please help.

Low engine pressure messaged came on and check engine light. Overheating light beeped saying coolant is hot so I turned on heater to cool down and pulled over. Made an appointment with ford dealership for them to tell me cracked cylinder head due to coolant leaking into system. Of course by the time it got looked at the dealership it was slightly over 100000 miles. I’ve read along with hearing from ford that this has been common complaint with this model. Then I’m told to get a new engine that it’s on back order for 6 months to a year! This issue is scary and to think of the possibility of car engulfing with ford not doing anything to fix the issue. Now I’m stuck paying $15,000 left on and low chance to get a new engine if that engine doesn’t cause the same issues!

This car is not reliable. Very unsafe drive. Has been towed 3 times to the Ford Dealer Ship in Chattanooga, TN in the last month and a half. Need to be recalled and deemed unsafe to drive. I have been stranded in the car serval times in since purchasing it new in 2020.

On Saturday my low oil pressure light came on suddenly as I was pulling into my driveway. I had just gotten my oil changed 2 months ago. The next day I took my car to Jiffy Lube, and as I was getting there the check engine light came on. The mechanics at Jiffy Lube stated it could be the oil pump valve. After that I decided to have my car towed to the local ford dealership to have it checked out. Today the dealership called me to inform me that my engine needed to be replaced and the cost would be $7500. The car is only 5 years old and has 84K miles. I am an extremely good driver with a clean record, and I also get my oil changed at the recommended interval at the ford dealership, so I do not believe that it is a driver issue.

I have a 2020 Ford EcoSport that was 3 years old and had 84000 miles on it. As I was driving down the highway I lost all oil pressure and the engine seized up. As I was 47 miles away from home I became stuck in the side of the road upon taking it to a local mechanic they reported the oil pump chain has failed and the entire engine will need to be rebuilt. The car had had all usual repairs and maintenance and regular oil changes
