On 2/9/24 my Ford Ecosport went into complete engine failure. The dash indicator lights for oil pressure low/check engine light/powertrain malfunction while on my way home from work. I was in the turning lane at a stop light when the car died. The car lost all power and would not even turn on to get into a safe area. After pushing the car to the side- I had to call a tow truck ($154) to have the car transported to Ford. There they ran their diagnostic test ($225) and it was found to have the faulty oil pump. Because this "recall" I am told is only a "notice" - the cost to fix the car is quoted at ($9000) as it needs a whole new engine now. I am told they have "no clue" when they can fix it and I am now out a car and transportation to my full time job. I have had to rent a car (not in my name as I could not) $ 571- month- Ford refused to give me a loaner vehicle due to it not being a recall also - I contacted Ford and was told the same thing.

My back windshield shattered for no reason. I had my job watch 12 hours of video footage and nobody went near my car. I googled it and apparently it's happened to other people.

In October 2023, my oil pump failed while on the freeway, resulting in total engine and turbo failure, severe emotional distress, and a substantial financial burden. I had to pay out of pocket to replace both components. In February 2024, the transmission failed on the freeway, increasing the financial burden already on my shoulders as Ford notified me they would not consider reimbursement for the money already spent on the engine and turbo replacement until 6-8 weeks after I file a report, and they will not allow me to file the reimbursement request until some point in April-June of this year. I drive for work and am now in an extremely difficult position due to the failure of multiple components resulting in serious mental, emotional, and financial duress. My safety was endangered in both cases as I was driving on the freeway in traffic. I do not believe a car less than 6 years old should have an engine, turbo, and transmission failure all just outside of the 5 year warranty within a few months of each other. I believe this violates the implied warranty of merchantability and presents a serious hazard for other owners of this make and model.

The engine oil pump malfunctioned and Astro Ford in Diberville refused to fix it or replace it. They tried to sell me another car. He even said he knew exactly what it was before looking at my car. He said he has seen it alot. I had 66053 miles on it. NO problems or issues leading up to engine blowing.

This vehicle is currently under recall number Manufacturer Recall Number 23S64 and NHTSA Recall Number 23V905. This recall has caused the engine to seize up. The dealership I bought it from will not help with the recall and states that I could pay to have the engine replaced myself for 6000.00. The dealership acknowledges there is a recall on my car, they are having trouble getting the parts, but will not provide me with a loaner car until the parts arrive, and tried to pressure me into paying for a replacement engine out of pocket. They also charged me 138.99 to look at car and determine it is part of the recall. I had to pay to have it towed back to my house due to their inadequate service and non-help in this recall situation.

The low engine oil light came on at around 73000 miles and the turbo stopped working, I was only able to go up a hill at 10 miles per hour, I was able to get my car to a safe spot but the car is undrivable now due to the oil pump and the turbo boost going out.

I've just purchased the above-noted vehicle. It will be registered and titled to me within the next two weeks. The recall details note that the defect could result in engine seizure. When I reported this to my local Ford dealer (Team Ford, Las Vegas, NV, 2-19-2024) they could not tell me when replacement parts would be received to remedy the problem. Furthermore, any associated expenses would be my responsibility. I am seeking some acknowledgement of my complaint to avoid the possible expenses on my behalf.

- #11572944February 20, 2024ENGINE, SUSPENSION, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
The engine oil pump dive belt tensioner arm broke, and it caused damage to the engine, causing the engine to lose engine oil pressure and causing engine damage, almost causing an accident. There were no warning or messages prior to the failure it just happened, I was driving and it happened almost causing an accident. The dealership confirmed that this was the problem that belt broke causing motor damage but the letter of the recall had not yet been received and I cannot pay for that repair.

I was losing oil quickly. One Ford dealership said there was a leak in my engine. 2 other Ford dealerships couldn't find said leak. On [XXX] I was taking my car in for an oil change when about 8 miles out my brakes stopped working. Per Jennifer Wilkes at Ford this was the issue "Good afternoon, I had to submit a claim to replace the long block of the motor as well as the turbo assembly and the vacuum brake booster. They are all bad and need to be replaced. I submitted a claim today to Ford for the repairs with your extended warranty. I am holding for approval at this time Allan Vigil Ford Lincoln" Per this recall, I should not have been charged for this repair. This was all related to the recall and I was charged $200 after my warranty. Please refund me. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The recalled part, the "ENGINE OIL PUMP DRIVE BELT TENSIONER ARM" broke and ended up throwing metal throughout our 2020 ECOsport engine, making it undrivable. Ford refuses to cover the costs of the repair because they are claiming it's an " advanced notice, " since they "don't have a remedy" and expect us to wait until possibly the end of June for covered repairs or we can cover the costs ourselves($8k+ rental) even though they have sent out the recall notice. The "remedy" they don't have will not fix the engine, because the recalled part has already ruined the engine.

Wednesday [XXX] as I am driving to pick up my son from work — my car was making a rattling noise - I took it to get an oil change prior to picking up my son as it was coming up due for one — and as I begin driving to pick up my son the Low Engine oil pressure light came on. I contacted ford motor company and created a case immediately. They informed me my next steps were to take car to dealership for a diagnosis. They assured me that the issue would be taken care of that ford has given them separate instructions for this recall specifically as they are aware it is serious and potentially costly that the dealership can contact (SSC?)- their internal department and request for repair coverage and rental coverage — Thursday [XXX] I took my vehicle as requested. A loner vehicle was delivered to me on 2.18 thanks to Dan at Elder Ford of Tampa. Today [XXX] I am notified by my service advisor that the vehicle needs a new engine due to the issue. He put in two case requests one for rental and one for repair coverage but they have not heard back from ford motor company — I called ford motor company client relations again today and keep being told that because it’s an advanced recall they will notify dealers when they have the remedy and/or parts by second quarter this year — I understand for those who the issue has not yet impacted their vehicles however that doesn’t apply to me I have an inoperable vehicle and I’m stuck waiting to get confirmation of coverage for a repair I cannot afford and for a rental I cannot afford for a defective product sold to me by ford. I drive my 7 year old to and from school and after school activities I am grateful we didn’t crash or something worse didn’t happen to us. Here I am 5 days later with no resolution and no commitment from Ford Motor Company on the coverage for the loner vehicle or the repairs. - The engine oil pressure was lost due to the manufacture of the vehicle and now our vehicle is currently in the hop. We do not have reliable transportation to work. - Engine went down in the middle of the highway which cost our lives at risk -Problem has not been reproduced. - Has not been inspected - No warning I am needing to get in touch with Ford manufacture to supply a solution for providing me with transportation to my job. I have spent over +14,000 in car payment to have a reliable vehicle and for me to not have a car due to the manufacture is inexcusable. I am needing a rental car to assist me with my request. I cannot wait for 4 months until the "parts" to come into a dealership for my car to be repaired.
