After only 6 months of purchasing a 2020 Ecosport and just after the manufacturer warranty expired, the Low Oil Pressure light came on while driving. The Engine lost power and made loud sounds. We had the vehicle towed to a certified mechanic who diagnosed that the engine oil was full of metal shavings and the engine was damaged beyond repair. We had to pay for an entire new motor (over $6000). We called Ford and went to a dealership and they admitted that this was a problem with this model but said they would not help as it had just gone out of warranty. Now, we received notice that there is a recall for this exact issue, (the newly replaced motor still has the same defect part.) Ford has refused to reimburse for the motor that we had to replace, stating that there is no fix yet for the defective part. I am still making payments on the car AND now paying for the replaced motor and labor. Ford has known that this was an issue for a while. **Please hold Ford accountable to make their customers WHOLE by fully reimbursing any customers who have had out of pocket expenses (whether completed at a Ford dealership or a mechanic of their choice) as a result of this issue (regardless of warranty status).

- #11574347February 27, 2024ENGINE, FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
During my commute from work on 9/19/22 in my 2019 Ford EcoSport my oil pressure light came on and I lost all engine power. A low oil pressure notification came across the vehicle's gauge system (above the steering wheel). I was able to get the vehicle home and contacted Conway Ford. After discussion with Conway Ford, I was told I could pay $600 for them to diagnose the vehicle. I reached out to my local mechanic, and he let me know that many of this make and model vehicle were having this same issue. He indicated I would need a new motor due to the way the vehicle was build. I spoke to the local dealership again and was told there were no replacement motors available for purchase. After paying for a vehicle for 18 months that cannot be driven and must be registered and insured (due to the car loan) I reached out Ford Motor beginning in January of 2024 after seeing information on a recall of EcoSports. Ford Motor said they would have a letter coming to me in February and a remedy for these vehicles. The letter was received, but indicated that there is no remedy available at this time and they are hoping to have one at some point in the second quarter of the year. I again reached out to Ford Motor and asked how they intended to handle this and offering no solution they asked me what I wanted. I requested they buy the vehicle back. After several phone calls, Ford Motor agreed to review the vehicle and consider it for buy back and after getting the run around I was denied for the buy back and told I could reach out to the Better Business Bureau (BBB). However, since the vehicle was purchased more than 365 days ago, the BBB recommended I contact Consumer Affairs and NHTSA.

While driving the car, it started stalling and making a cranking noise, was able to make it home but then, the next day, when tried to start the car, the oil light turned off, the noise was extremely loud and it turned off by itself. Called dealer and they told me about the recall and that there's no fix until mid Summer. Ford hasn't issued to stop driving the car but how can I drive a car that I don't feel safe to drive, what about if I cause an accident or if someone hits me because the car turns off? This is a serious and stressful matter, I've been having to take Uber to be able to make it to my doctor's appointments. I took the car back in Sept of last year to Alan Jay Ford in Sebring and after paying $257.84, they said the car just needed the computer to be resetted, then, car was making weird noise again and took it to AutoNation Ford Margate and after $1440.92, they said it was just a tube that needed to be reconnected. Were these repairs actually related to this recall "engine oil pump belt tensioner arm to fracture, resulting in a loss of engine oil pressure" this can increase "the risk of a crash". How is it possible that so a huge company as Ford is, doesn't have this part that is causing other major issues? I really need my car to be fixed or replaced with another car or get a loaner plus I would like an investigation to determine if the two places that I took the car failed to fix it correctly and could've put my life and my family's in danger.

I purchased the vehicle and not even two weeks goes by before I am going 55mph and the entire car started shutting down. I managed to get off the road. I had the vehicle towed to Klaben Ford in Warren where it took months to replace the engine and turbo. I finally get it back and not even 24 hours went by before it stalled going over railroad tracks. Klaben tells me they left a clamp on my engine and gave it back. I had it for two days before I had a loss of power again while turning left in an intersection. Luckily the oncoming traffic were extremely quick to respond and were able to stop before hitting me. This time they had my car for a week or two and gave it back finally working. Unrelated to this exact case, but Klaben also in that time had my vehicle catch on fire when another vehicle exploded next to it. They took it to their own body shop without my consent originally. Since it was already there I agreed to have them estimate repairs. Little did I realize they would cut their labor costs to be able to not total out the vehicle. Looking back I should of had an unrelated body shop estimate the repairs to have the [XXX] car totaled out and replaced. Fast forward about two years where I have my car finally running and seems great. January 2024 comes and the engine light warning comes across my car while I am on [XXX] driving 70 miles per hour with my 1 and 3 year old in the car. I stop and I have it taken to my mechanic who told me to drive it as little as possible because the engine would need replaced. I then call Ford to tell them about it and asked about a buy back. This was TWO DAYS before I get the advance recall letter. Not once in the phone call did they tell me how dangerous my car was at this point and never said anything about the recall. I try to go to work the next day and my oil light then comes on. I then finally get the recall to find out I would still have to pay about $7,500 out of pocket for engine and turbo as well at $1,800 a month in rental cost. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE F
