My mother was driving my car when it randomly had displayed the check engine light and low oil pressure light. My mother immediately stopped driving it and we had it towed to my mechanic. My manic said the Engine is very noise, but oil is full. Said the wet belt timing system and the oil pump are inside the crankcase and need to be inspected, but to avoid breakage extensive testing needs to be done, but before that can happen the oil pan must be removed. After speaking with a master tech at Ford he let her know it will need an engine and possible turbo replacement, and this is a common issue in these vehicles.

- #11624865November 12, 2024VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, SERVICE BRAKES
I was having issues where accelerating was difficult for a couple weeks. Then I was going 70 on the highway and began dropping speed quickly (down to 30 mph within 30 seconds). I was pressing on the gas and nothing was happening. My check engine light turned on and the wrench light showed up, my screen when black and I had to pull over, felt like car stalled. Turned car off and then back on to try to get somewhere safer. Far would not go over 20 pulled into parking spot and breaks didn’t work. Got towed to my family mechanic and he drove it and said the same thing happened (he thought it was electric so send me to ford dealer). Dealer could not find anything wrong except a software update was needed. Problem was resolved but I found it hard to believe that was it. Fast forward 10 months later same thing happens. Lights turned on then off. Auto stop/start no longer working. Car feels like it is struggling to accelerate again and once I’m up to the intended speed it seems like it doesn’t want to change gears. Car basically seems like it is driving all wrong.

My engine light came on in September 2024. I took it to the Ford dealership and they told me it was my purge valve. I had my mechanic replace my purge valve and my engine light went off. 24 hours later my engine light came back on. I took it to the Ford dealership and they said the valve was loose and they fixed it. My engine light was off when they gave me my vehicle back. 2 fays layer my engine light came back on. While driving on I-45 my car shut off and stalled. I talked with the Ford corporate office and they informed me about my car's safety recall and that they will not have the parts until next year. I wanted to have my car be a total loss and purchase a 2024 Ford Escape. I was not approved and Ford is trying to give me my car back. I no longer feel safe driving behind the wheel of a car that has an increasing chance of shutting off and causing a crash.

There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. I found out about the recall when I was researching how to operate my vehicle. I made an appointment to have the recall repair made on April 5, 2024. On April 8. 2024, the dealer called back the Service Manager stated, "They aren't processing the recalls unless the vehicle is on the side of the road." I called several other dealers and they stated they also would not repair the vehicle. On [XXX], the engine oil pump drive belt tensioner arm fractured and separated from the tensioner backing plate. The oil pump drive belt lost teeth and the car lost engine oil pressure. There was a loss of motive power and a loss of mechanical vacuum pump the vehicle lost all power and shut down. I was sitting at a light in the middle of the street at 11:30 PM. The vehicle could have shut down on the highway. I had just exited the highway, it was late at night and dark. Someone could have run into the back of my vehicle. I had the vehicle towed to Planet Ford in Spring, TX. After negotiating with them they worked on the engine but the car would not start. Then they said it needed a new battery and once installed the vehicle still did not run properly. They stated I needed to pay for a diagnostic because transmission lights are coming on. I refused because the damage was 100% caused by Ford's irresponsibility and neglect. The Recall stated repairs were supposed to be made at no charge. Planet Ford is now saying they have to put in a request to the Ford Corporation to ask if Ford will assist me with the cost of repairs. - #11623383November 4, 2024SERVICE BRAKES, FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
While waiting at a stop light when the automatic start kicked back in it was so hard I felt that someone had rear ended my car and then the car stalled. I had to put the car in park and restart the engine. My biggest fear is being rear ended. My engine whines and the rpm will hit 4 or 5 before the car will shift into the next gear. It does the ssame thing when trying to accelerate - it's as if it's not getting enough fuel. However, my biggest fear is that I've had a recall on my vehicle since January, 2024 - Manufacturer Recall Number 23S64; NHTSA Recall Number 23V905 and there not anticipaing a fix until the first quarter of 2025. The Safety Risk: A LOSS OF ENGINE OIL PRESSURE CAN RESULT IN ENGINE DAMAGE ANDOR SEIZURE, WHICH CAN RESULT IN A LOSS OF MOTIVE POWER AND A LOSS OF THE MECHANICAL VACUUM PUMP REQUIRED TO PROVIDE POWER BRAKING ASSIST, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. Knowing that this is a safety risk, nothing can be provided for the consumer soone than this. This is scarry, why not buy the vehicle back. If I get in an accident then what?
