I was driving and all of a sudden I received a low oil pressure alert on my care and within a min my car lost all power and was completely unable to accelerate. It is currently in the shop and they said it will be months before it is repaired.

I was notified over a year ago about the recall on my car and continue to be told there’s no remedy for the problem. If Ford is aware that the parts that have been recalled can cause other problems why is there still no remedy for the situation?!?!?! I barely drive my car now because I’m worried my entire car is going to break down. Which is very likely. The last couple of times I did drive it I noticed it doesn’t seem to drive right. Now whether that has something to do with the recalled part I don’t know for sure, but I will be taking it to the shop to figure out what the issue it and if it’s related to the recalled part. If so, I will be reaching out to my attorney for further assistance.

On March 13, 2025, while driving, my 2020 Ford EcoSport suddenly lost power and shut down. The vehicle is under Recall 23S64 (oil pump failure). I had to tow it to a shop, which confirmed low oil pressure, then to Ford, who confirmed complete engine failure and replaced the engine parts. I was without a vehicle for 34 days and Ford refused to provide a rental unless it was a Ford-brand, which was unavailable. After the engine replacement, further issues occurred: check engine light, battery failure, overheating, coolant leaks, and multiple installation errors including a missing coolant line bracket (causing leaks), cross-threaded turbo-to-cat converter stud, missing splash shield, and broken overflow line. Repairs cost thousands of dollars out-of-pocket. On May 13, 2025, a new recall was issued on the replacement engine, meaning my car remains unsafe despite the prior recall fix. These failures created unsafe driving conditions (loss of power on the road, overheating, potential engine fire risk). The problems have been confirmed by both Ford and an independent certified shop.

Vehicle Information: •Year / Make / Model: 2018 Ford EcoSport Titanium 2.0L •VIN: [XXX] ] •Mileage: ~70,000 miles Problem Description: I am experiencing multiple engine and emissions-related issues on my 2018 Ford EcoSport at only ~70,000 miles. These include: •Check engine light illuminated continuously •P0016 – Crankshaft/Camshaft Correlation (Bank 1 Sensor A) •P0017 – Crankshaft/Camshaft Correlation (Bank 1 Sensor B) •P0420 – Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold •All emissions-related lights, including camshaft indicator, are on •Vehicle is sluggish and struggles to accelerate These issues first appeared around 30,000 miles and recurred more severely at ~70,000 miles. The vehicle has been maintained according to manufacturer recommendations, with regular oil changes using the correct oil type. This appears to be a premature failure of timing chain/cam phasers and possibly catalytic converter components. I have checked for recalls and found none applicable to my 2.0L engine, and there are no known Technical Service Bulletins specifically covering this problem. I am concerned about safety and reliability, and I am submitting this complaint so that NHTSA can track these issues and determine if further investigation or action is necessary. Additional Comments: •I am aware of other Ford owners experiencing similar timing chain and cam phaser issues at low mileage (60k–80k miles). •I request that this information be considered for investigation into potential safety defects or extended coverage.
