The engine oil pump malfunctioned and Astro Ford in Diberville refused to fix it or replace it. They tried to sell me another car. He even said he knew exactly what it was before looking at my car. He said he has seen it alot. I had 66053 miles on it. NO problems or issues leading up to engine blowing.

engine failed due low engine oil pressure not getting oil pressure for an extensive amount of time. low oil pressure caused the rod bearing to fail causing internal engine failure. I was driving on the freeway going on 65mile per hour when I have loss the control of the vehicle i almost died thank god there was not near other vehicles

I brought a Ford Ecosport S from Auction Direct on or about February 7, 2024, Raleigh NC. In the mist of purchasing, they informed me there is a recall on this vehicle. I've since then been trying to get my vehicle fix. It's started to make noise and rub and I don't want the problem to get worst. I have brought the part through Capital Ford, Raleigh NC, but they said I need the recall letter in order for them to fix it. Please can you help me out by sending this letter? EcoSport. Lease [XXX]. Car broke down at 6900 miles [XXX], was fixed and broke down again at 10,300 miles ([XXX]-towed to North Brothers Ford. same problem. (oil pump and engine issues). Apparently a fix won't be available until 2nd quarter in 2024, probably looking at June. I've been told that I cannot be given a loaner until the car is torn down and checked out. The contact owns a 2021 Ford EcoSport. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the low oil pressure warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road and contacted her son. The contact's son inspected the oil pump and oil filter but could not determine the cause of the failure. The contact then drove to the residence; however, while attempting to pull into the driveway, the power steering and the brakes failed to function as needed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed, and the dealer determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer advised the contact to repair the vehicle at her own expense, and she might be reimbursed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.

SEAT BELTS
Hello I’m having problems with my drivers side seatbelt. It will pull out all the way as it will go and it will not go back to tighten up the seatbelt. Where I put my seatbelt back on it will not tighten back to keep me safe in seatbelt. It’s very loose and when I hit on the brake the seatbelt will not tighten up to protect me in the seat. Then sometimes I get in my vehicle the seatbelt will work normally to tighten back when I fasten my seatbelt. I took it to my dealership on Monday for oil change a tire rotation . I also told my advisor about the problem I was having and asked him to get them to check it out. They couldn’t find a problem with it at that time. But on Tuesday it was doing the same problem. My sister has fussing about how unsafe that was for use to drive like that. Please can you help me with this problem asap. Thanks in advance. The date of my visit to dealership was Monday 1/29/2024

The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V905000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that the Auto START/STOP intermittently locked the vehicle. After being idle at a red light and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle stalled. The contact restarted the vehicle and was able to continue driving. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was hesitating while attempting to accelerate. The failure occurred three times before the vehicle was taken to the dealer. The failure recurred approximately one month after the vehicle was first repaired. The contact stated that after the vehicle was shifted in reverse, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated that the accelerator pedal was depressed, and the vehicle responded, however, the vehicle failed to exceed 10 MPH. The contact stated that after arriving at the residence, the vehicle was turned off and restarted and there was a loud pop coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission had failed. The transmission was repaired after the first failure. The dealer diagnosed that the transmission had failed again and needed to be repaired; however, the vehicle had not been repaired after the second failed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 21,485. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

The engine of my Ford 2021 Ecosport seized at 73k miles while driving - accelerating from a stoplight. The dealership has diagnosed it as a cracked cylinder head and quoted $8,000 to fix. The dealership had taken no responsibility for faulty parts/design. These engines are not safe and should not be on the road. Fors has since issued a recall for the oil pump, but the damage to my vehicle has already been done.

The contact stated that several attempts were needed to restart the vehicle. The contact stated that 2 hours after clearing PCV valve and driving approximately 40 MPH and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle failed to respond. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the roadway and had the vehicle towed to the dealer. The dealer confirmed that the VIN was included in the recall. The dealer determined that the drive belt and tensioner had failed and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that there was no part to do the recall repair. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. Engine failure -- on 12/2/23 while driving the vehicle it shut off less than 2 minutes after I heard what sounded like a belt breakage on the car. The car would not start again. My safety was put at risk because I was driving on a busy street and the speed limit was 50mph. 1 day prior, the car slowed to about 40 mph or less after the engine light came on Then the wrench icon came on. I could not drive on the highway so I took the side streets to and from work. I started getting oil pressure warnings about 2 weeks prior but I just had my oil change done in October 2023. I did not know that I was getting warning messages until I looked at the FordPass app on 12/2/23 and saw several messages starting from 10/6/23 at 9:15am. The first message states " powertrain malfunction/reduced power" and another received on 10/6/23 at 11:48am states "Service Engine Soon Warning - The engine control system has detected that the turbocharger/supercharger is outputting lower boost then expected. Diesel equipped vehicles may indicate that the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power." Another on 11/28/23 states "Charge System Fault Indicates that there is a 12V charging system fault". 11/29 1:09pm Service Engine Soon The powertrain control system has detected the system power supply voltage is lower than desired". Plus several other messages. I had the car towed to the Ford Dealership in Victorville and was told by the Service Advisor that the engine and turbo needs to be replaced. She said that the oil pump drive belt broke. I asked how this happens and she said the tech does not know but he does know that the turbo is consequential damage due to drive belt damage. I have also noticed that the gas mileage has significantly decreased over the past year or so. Also the brakes squeak when I put the car in reverse - this happened the day I drove the car off of the lot and the Ford rep said it was no big deal. There are other minor issues also.

While driving on the highway a “Low Engine Oil Pressure” came up on the screen repeatedly. We immediately pulled off the highway before the vehicle started becoming jerky/shaky while running. We attempted to add oil thinking that might be issue but when we went to run the car again it became harder to start up. The car was towed to a nearby mechanic shop where the diagnostic assessment came back saying that the oil pump is broken. The vehicle could not be repaired at their shop at needed to be re-towed specifically to a Ford dealership. The representative did tell us that this issue has been popping up more and more with ford ecosports. Had we continued to run the car any longer could have resulted in serious damage and ultimately failure of the engine, which could have had severe consequence such as losing control and crashing. Prior to the warning coming on there was zero indication that something may have been wrong- I drive quite a lot for work and throughout the week everything felt normal.

A low engine oil pressure notification popped up on my screen while driving on the interstate and then my car slowly stopped letting me accelerate over 65 mph. I had to get to the nearest exist because the car felt as if it was losing power. The car is now at a dealership waiting to be checked out. Nothing showed before this message and it came suddenly on Tuesday 12.12.23
