Some 2023 Bronco vehicles may experience inoperative remote start and/or remote lock and unlock through FordPass. Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) U0146:09 may be stored in the telematics control unit (TCU), and U2402:00 and/or U2402:92 may be stored in the gateway module (GWM). Inform the customer they can continue to drive the vehicle. A solution is planned for deployment via Ford Power-Up software updates delivered over-the-air (OTA) beginning April 2023. Software will update automatically on vehicles connected to FordPass. Monitor OASIS for additional updates. Schedule an appointment in April 2023 for customers that are not connected to FordPass once the repair is available.

Summary
Due to a supplier chip-shortage, 2023 Bronco vehicles equipped with a 6-speaker sound system come with a non-operational rear amplifier. This non-operational amplifier (service part number N2DZ-18C804-B) will not produce sound (by design) from the rear subwoofer. The non-operational rear amplifier and subwoofer assembly will appear identical to a working system. Customers have been notified and compensated appropriately for this change to the vehicle. For more details, refer to the Electronic Field Communication titled Product Offering Changes: Ford Bronco Audio System published on 09-Dec-2022. Vehicles that meet these criteria should not be diagnosed for a symptom related to poor/no performance from the rear subwoofer.

Summary
Some 2017-2023 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with a 10R60/10R80/10R80 MHT/10R100 transmission may exhibit a whine noise at idle and/or while driving. This may be identified as coming from the bellhousing and the front of the transmission fluid pan. The whine noise may become louder when the transmission is at operating temperature and may increase with engine revolutions per minute (RPM) in the park (P) position. A small amount of whine noise is considered to be characteristic of the 10R60/10R80/10R80 MHT/10R100 transmissions due to the offset gear drivetrain in the front support and has no effect on durability.

Customers who neutral (4-wheel flat) tow a 2021-2022 Bronco equipped with a 2.7L engine or a 2022-2023 Bronco Raptor may report an inconsistent brake assist when a supplemental braking system has been installed. This may result from supplemental brake system set-up that does not account for the vehicles anti-lock brake (ABS) module entering sleep mode after a pre-determined period of time following vehicle shut-down. This functionality was necessary to prevent a battery drain from occurring. Enhanced software has been developed to keep the ABS module in a consistent sleep state when the vehicle enters neutral tow mode. For vehicles that meet this criterion, reprogram the ABS module using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. For claiming, use casual part 2C219.

Some 2021-2022 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 4 may experience an error message during the gateway module (GWM) software update application which states Procedure Unsuccessful- GetConfigDataFromGIVIS. This may be the result of a server related concern. To correct the condition, download and run the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) application GWM-Read the Gateway Module A (GWM) Configuration Data application. When the application completes, refresh and re-attempt the GWM-Gateway Module A (GWM) Software Update application. Some 2021-2022 Bronco vehicles may exhibit a charging system fault message displayed in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) after water fording in muddy water. This may be the result of mud accumulation inside the generator causing it to fail. To resolve the concern, follow the Service Procedure to replace the generator and install a revised generator shield onto the vehicle.

2021-2023 Bronco vehicles are equipped with a smart windshield wiper motor, which has the capability of sensing load of the wiper blades coming across the windshield glass. As a result of this operational characteristic/design, the operation may not be what is expected in certain conditions. The vehicle is programmed with protection features to prevent damage to the wiper motor in case of overheating, operation with dry windshields, or obstructions to the wiper blade (snow, ice, etc.). In such conditions, the wiper motor will temporarily reduce its speed and/or reduce area of cleaning until the condition is no longer present.

Some 2021-2023 Bronco vehicles may exhibit a creak/pop type noise when any of the side doors are opened and closed. This may be due to incorrect door installation, alignment and/or incorrect tightening of the two bolts which hold the door to the vehicle body. To correct this condition, inspect for and address any damage to the door and/or latch components, then remove and reinstall the suspect door following the instructions located in the Digital Owners Manual, Removable Vehicle Components > Removable Doors > Removing and Installing the Doors. In this section you ll also find a detailed tutorial video of the process. If the noise persists, perform the Front/Rear Door Alignment procedure located in the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-03 Body Closures.

Some 2023 Bronco vehicles equipped with 2.7L engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P04DB stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to a fault detected while in transport mode or a leak in the positive crankcase ventilation system (PCV). To correct the condition, perform a visual inspection of all possible sources outlined in Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-08B pinpoint test (PPT) HG. Deactivate transport mode and place into normal operation mode, refer to WSM, Section 419-10. Clear all DTCs, allow the vehicle to sit with key off for at least 2 hours or until engine coolant temperature (ECT) is below 45ÃÂ°C (113ÃÂ°F). Start the vehicle and allow it to idle in park (P) for at least 1 minute. Using the appropriate scan tool, check for DTCs. If DTC P04DB returns, perform PPT HG in the WSM.

Some 2021-2022 Bronco vehicles may encounter a concern of the A/C working intermittently and DTC P0532 stored in the PCM. If this symptom is exhibited have the technician inspect connector C1062 at the pressure transducer for corrosion and/or terminal fretting. The pins in this connector may be worn creating the intermittent A/C operation. Technicians can perform a wiggle test at this connector to duplicate the issue. If the concern can be duplicated with a wiggle test, replace the pigtail service connector and the pressure transducer sensor and install dielectric grease inside both to prevent reoccurrence.
