The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while inspecting the vehicle with a UV light, he noticed there was a refrigerant leak in the air conditioning condenser. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed with an air conditioning condenser refrigerant leak. The contact was informed that the air conditioning condenser needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN and directed the contact to file a complaint with NHTSA. The contact related the failure to Special Coverage Adjustment 17336: Air Conditioning Condenser (Combi-Cooler) Refrigerant Leak. The failure mileage was approximately 53,000.

The contact owns a 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while his wife was driving approximately 35-40 MPH, the power steering assist failed. The failure occurred on several occasions, which nearly caused a collision. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000. The VIN was unavailable.

POWER TRAIN
My wife usually drives the Tahoe for short day to day commuting to and from work and bringing kids to practice, but I needed it for work one day and upon trying to accelerate onto the highway I noticed the transmission had no power when accelerating. I took it to a Chevy dealer and they were unable to diagnose the problem due to it not displaying a check engine light nor were they able to guarantee they would be able to determine the problem if they kept it longer for further inspection. I made an appointment with a shop down the road and after an inspection and test drive, they were able to determine that gears 3 and 6 were shot on the transmission. and that the engine was at 100% load going 55 mph. After waiting 4 weeks for a transmission, when we went to pick up our vehicle, he had 2 other Tahoes in the shop (2016 and 2019 with 77,000 and 51000 miles respectively) both needing new transmissions and said he has had many Suburbans and Silverados with same problem around the same miles. Shame on Chevrolet.

The service brake assist and brake assist warning lights were illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign number 19V761000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic, Service Brakes, Electronic Stability Control) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 84,000.

Front passenger seatbelt is stuck won’t expand to buckle up, when turning on right blinker the high beam lights turn on. Which is unsafe for other drivers being blinded by the bright lights. Back hatch does not operate at all, could potentially be life threatening if that was an only exit due to unexpected Circumstances

I'm having problems with my brake system. When I'm backing up it will slide like it don't want to stop fully. If I'm at a light and press the brakes frequently it don't want to stop and feels like it slides before coming to a complete stop. On hills it feels like it's harder to keep the SUV stopped without rolling.

SERVICE BRAKES
ABS/Traction Control wheel speed sensors corroded, causing the ABS to activate at low speeds and making it impossible to stop the car. This is the same issue as has been reported for other VIN numbers of the same vehicle; see Safety Recall 05068 Front Wheel Speed Sensor Corrosion, https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2005/RCRIT-05V379-8709.pdf. However, that recall was limited to vehicles registered in the "Rust Belt" states; it appears that as this vintage of vehicle has aged, vehicles outside the Rust Belt now are experiencing the same problem, suggesting that the recall should be broadened.

Steering Wheel hard to turn and locks for a short period when making turns going low speeds. (turning into parking spot or reversing out of parking spot) When steering in reverse, front dashboard shut down and returned in 1 second with a restart. Left in middle of road trying to back into driveway. Car parked and started, car windshield wipers were activated while in garage, radio station was reset & wouldn't allow to be changed, and car gave action required notifications on dashboard (power open & close driver window & passenger window) Park Assist Off light shows after steering issues. Tire Sensors reset Compass recalibrated

I purchased a Certified pre-owned Chevy Tahoe, in 2017, for the past year to as of 2/18/2022, the Service Trailer Brake has been chiming. It isn’t continuous majority of the time, but I know it isn’t right and often alarms me when it does chime. I do not tow trailers behind my vehicle at all. I drive to work and home, take kids to school and sporting events. .I would like to know if this has or when will this be recalled? Obviously something is setting it off??

STEERING
Sudden Loss of power steering & Complete Loss of Steering control movement.. It caused a minor injury to my hand... Friction burn to both palms and sore finger joints Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Have not taken it in for service yet.. While Performing a LEFT turn The wheel suddenly & unexpectedly BY IT SELF, jerked and changed direction from 80-90% left turning angle to 50-70% right turning in a quarter of a second , this almost caused the vehicle to smash into two other vehicles present in the area the other person had to slam on their brakes as the SUV by it self cut them off... Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No......... Brakes fail a low speed, less than 10 MPH. Happen three times. First time there was an accident. I have a dash cam. I had to place the Tahoe into park to get it to stop. POWER TRAIN
You cannot put the vehicle into Neutral unless the engine is running. This is a huge safety issue as my Tahoe broke down in the middle of a very busy intersection at night time, and it took 3 hours for a tow truck to show up. If I had been able to get the vehicle into Neutral, I could have pushed it out of the intersection into a safe location.

The lifters failed which caused my vehicle to stall in the middle of a very busy intersection. Chevrolet knows this lifters are an issue, but they need to treat it as a Safety Recall. When these fail, it happens while people are driving. It is a HUGE safety issue.

Auxiliary battery exploded while vehicle was in operation. Explosion caused damage to front driver side headlight, hood insulation, windshield washer reservoir, terminal covers and battery. See attached images. Later learned of GM service bulletin (19-NA-099) regarding overheating of relay causing melted terminals on auxiliary battery

Takata Recall. The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that the airbags service light remained illuminated while driving. The contact stated she received notification for NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V054000 (Air Bags) or 21V053000 (Air Bags) at the time the airbag warning light started to illuminate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be serviced under the airbag recall however, the airbag warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle failure cause was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was advised of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle to another dealer for diagnosis. The approximate failure mileage was unknown.

The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that upon the depression of the brake pedal, the vehicle would stall without warning. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer where they informed her of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V739000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. Since the initial failure, the vehicle had stalled twice without warning. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
