Fuel pump control module failed at under 60k miles. No parts in stock and was told by dealer, no parts anytime soon. This is unacceptable, especially since this is a known problem. A rental car should be provided as expected wait time is now going on two weeks.

While driving down interstate at approx. 55-65mph, vehicle "sputtered" and shut off while driving. Vehicle would crank but not start. After sitting approx. 10 mins, was able to restart and drive approx. one mile or less before "sputter" and vehicle died, followed by another crank no start. No check engine lights came on. Vehicle was in roadway in very dangerous location with blind curve requiring Police to be called in fear of my safety, since vehicle was in roadway, I was afraid for my children's safety as there were in car seats in the vehicle at time of failure. I was also concerned about my safety as well as other motorists safety. I was scared that I was going to get hit by another vehicle since my vehicle died in the roadway in a curve. There was an increased probability of injury or death from the faulty part on this vehicle. Police were on scene to assist with traffic, however no report was made, vehicle was disabled. Vehicle had to be towed to residence. CEL came on after approx 3rd start attempt. Believe issue to be Electronic Fuel Control Module which is common with this vehicle year/make/model. However in contacting the dealer in which I purchased Tahoe, they state that this particular VIN has no open recalls, however it matches description on recall N252516900 Fuel Pump Power Control Module. Vehicle is not yet repaired, it has not been inspected, and faulty part is still on the vehicle, vehicle and part are available for inspection.

While driving on the highway, the engine started making a knocking noise and the vehicle shut down causing us to have to pull over on the side of the road in the middle of highway traffic. The engine light came on and the vehicle would no longer drive leaving my family stranded on the side of the highway. The vehicle had to be towed 200 miles back home.

The car had the recall done for the engine issues 1 year ago. Pico test past and oil was changed to new oil. All service is handled by Chevrolet dealer. Now the issue. After leaving home and driving on a highway for about 25 minutes I received lights on the dashboard indicating. Several issues. Flashing engine light, ecm issue amoung some others. I then noticed what sounded like a missfire of the engine. Since I was on my way out of town I decided to turn around and take directly to dealer. I dropped the car off. When I finally turned the car off at the dealer lot and restarted it I also noticed metal clanging coming from engine. The next day I was texted by the dealer that I would be getting a new engine. Car has 78,644 miles.

Description of the safety problem On XXX, shortly after starting the vehicle and beginning to drive, I attempted to apply the brakes and discovered that they had essentially frozen up and were not functioning properly. At the same time the vehicle displayed the following warnings: Service ESC, ABS warning light, brake system warning light, "Trailer Brakes Disabled – Service Required," traction/stability control warning, and check engine light. I shut the vehicle off and restarted it. After the restart the brakes appeared to function normally again and most warning indicators disappeared. However, the check engine light remains illuminated, and I have noticed a slight hesitation when starting the vehicle. I have photographs of the warnings taken at approximately 21,029 miles. Relevant history This vehicle was purchased new. The original 6.2L engine suffered a catastrophic failure at approximately 18,685 miles while traveling at highway speed and was replaced under warranty. None of the current problems existed before that engine replacement. Since the replacement, the vehicle has experienced multiple electrical failures, including windshield wipers becoming inoperative while driving in rain, intermittent loss of electrical power and starting problems, steering-related and collision-system warnings, and tire-pressure warning discrepancies. During a recent dealership visit to Ourisman Chevrolet (service advisor [XXX]) for multiple electrical malfunctions, I was told the problem was simply that the battery needed to be charged. The problems have continued, culminating in the XXX braking malfunction. Request I am reporting this as a potential safety defect affecting the braking, stability control, and electrical systems of this vehicle, and I request that NHTSA record and review this complaint. Driving our Tahoe today and every light pertaining to the brakes as well as a few other came on.. You can feel the vehicle pulling to one side and hear the transfer case howling.. We have replace the transmission a little over a year ago with a certified GM mechanic..Recall - N192261050 and N262557620 do not fall under our Vin# but this is exactly what's going on with our vehicle.. My wife drives this vehicle daily with our kids in it.. If a catastrophic failure occurs with either of these issues she will wreck and endanger herself and our kids..We have no other vehicle to drive as this one is too unsafe and we do not have the financial ability to just pay out of pocket for GM's product faliures

The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. While the contact’s wife was driving 55 MPH, the vehicle unexpectedly started losing automotive power before the vehicle stalled. The driver was able to safely guide the vehicle to the shoulder of the highway. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with a fuel pump power control module failure and the vehicle was repaired. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V739000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The dealer was contacted and stated that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The manufacturer was contacted by phone and made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 96,202.

While traveling at highway speeds, the vehicle experienced an instantaneous, simultaneous, and total failure of both the electronic eBoost braking system and the electronic power steering assist. The dashboard flashed multiple critical system malfunction notifications with zero prior warning. When attempting to slow down, the brake pedal sank completely to the floor with zero mechanical resistance and provided absolutely no braking response. Primary control of the heavy SUV was lost, forcing a dangerous maneuver across three highway lanes to avoid a high-speed collision. The vehicle is currently at a dealership due to a Fuel Pump Power Control Module Recall. Because this module interfaces with the high-speed electronic data network (CAN bus), its failure mode appears linked directly to the catastrophic communication drop that disabled the eBoost brakes and steering. This failure aligns with the mechanical faults documented under federal safety recalls 21V-455 and 21V-579, as well as the active NHTSA Engineering Analysis EA26006 investigating GM eBoost system failures. The defect completely stripped the vehicle of its primary safety functions without warning.

The dealership diagnosed the truck after investigating a ticking noise and engine misfire. During the inspection, they removed the valve cover and found that one of the pushrods on cylinder #5 was bent. Further disassembly revealed that both lifters on cylinder #5 had failed, causing excessive wear on the camshaft lobe. As a result, the dealership determined that the necessary repair was to replace the camshaft and all 16 lifters. The engine was then cleaned, reassembled, and tested to ensure proper operation. The root cause of the issue appears to have been a failing lifter, which led to damage of the associated valvetrain components.

At approximately 80,700 miles, I started my 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe (6.2L V8) to take my family on errands. My wife heard a squeaking noise from the engine as she walked to the vehicle, and I got out and heard the same noise. No warning lights or messages appeared on the dashboard, before or after. I took the vehicle to an independent repair shop, expecting a belt problem. After inspection, the shop told me the valve lifters had failed and needed replacement, and that the camshaft would likely need replacement as well. I declined the repair and took the vehicle to a GM dealership for inspection and documentation. The GM dealer confirmed the lifters need replacement. They could not confirm whether the camshaft is also damaged without an engine tear down, which I have not authorized. The dealer estimated $13,200 to replace the lifters and camshaft. The independent shop estimated $8,200. The vehicle has not been repaired, and the failed components are still in the engine and available for inspection. I am concerned for my family’s safety. Lifter failure on this engine can cause misfires, loss of power or engine failure while driving. We use this vehicle to transport our family, and a sudden loss of power on the road could cause a crash.

This report is related to NHTSA EA26005 Investigation. My 2025 Tahoe had an engine failure while on a trip. The speed was approximately 55 mph. The SUV was in L9 transmission setting driving up a slight grade on the highway. The engine RPM was approximately 2,000 RPM. Engine oil press, according to the instrument gauge was 48-50psi, engine temp was normal. Started to hear a rumbling sound and at first thought it was the radio, turned down radio volume and realized it was coming from engine compartment. There were no warning lights or other preliminary indications other than noise. The RPM dropped to around 1400-1500 at the same approximate throttle pressure I had and oil pressure shot up to 60 psi and remained there. During the time the engine continued to operate with a loud racket there were no advisory lights other than the high oil pressure and lower RPM. Slowed down. Due to the road topography, there were no safe areas or shoulders to pull off to side of road. Fortunately there was no traffic coming towards me or behind me. I was able to continue at slow speed for approximately 4 miles until reaching intersection of [XXX] and [XXX] and was able to safely pull of to the side of the road. Since there was no cell phone service in the area, I was able to talk with a person nearby who took me to a garage several miles away to arrange for tow service. The Tahoe only 13,400 miles on it. It had two oil changes with the GM recommend oil, 0W-20 dexos1 Gen3 and GM filter. The oil had been changed two weeks before the engine failure and the oil level was checked by me prior to the start of the trip. Driving my vehicle on the interstate at 70mph when the transmission made a hard downshift and brought my wife, two children, an infant and toddler, and I to a very sudden 40mph.Before I was able to find a shoulder to pull over the transmission fluid overheated and vehicle would no longer change gears. I then towed it to the dealership where purchased originally. Vehicle was then towed to and diagnosed at a Chevrolet dealership where ultimately resulted in a valve body and clutch failure.

The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving at 55 MPH, the "No Key Detected" message displayed. The key fob battery was replaced; however, the failure persisted, stranding the contact and child on the road. The contact disconnected and reconnected the vehicle battery to resolve the failure, based on a parent's experience with the identical failure in a 2022 Chevrolet Suburban. Prior to the failure, the front windshield wipers activated independently after starting the vehicle, and the infotainment screen went blank while coming to a stop. The manufacturer was notified of the failure by telephone. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

There are thousands of people across social media and internet websites with the same exact problem they are having with 2021 chevy tahoe. There has also been multiple recalls for the same problem but seems it was not issued for all the vehicles that has this default. The Brake service light first came on the dash along with service esc, max speed limited to 43, service brake monitor system. It was taken to multiple shops for a diagnostic including Jim Hudson Chevy and all of them said how this is an ongoing issue with 2021 tahoes. No one knows the exact problem or cause. The dealership said it’s probably the brake control module, because that’s what the issue was all of the other times they had this occur.
