Received recall information and have tried to have the vehicle fixed. All the Tampa dealerships in the area do not help. They hang up don't keep appointments and don't return phone calls.

Sudden and unexpected loss of power steering several times. In all cases, the loss of power steering has happened when starting the car. Turning the ignition off and immediately on again did not resolve the issue. Turning the ignition off and letting the car sit for 10 minutes before re-starting the car appeared to resolve the issue. The vehicle has been inspected several times by the service department of Mayer Chevrolet in St. Petersburg, Florida, who has been unable to replicate the issue and therefore has responded that they are unable to resolve the issue. GM has issued a recall for the same issue that has been identified on the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and other related GM vehicles, recognizing there is an issue, but no recall exists for the 2019 Tahoe. Issue continues to happen every few months.

The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while inspecting the coils under the hood, he noticed that the master cylinder brake lines were leaking. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the master cylinder brake lines needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 183,500. The VIN was unavailable.

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving at 35 MPH, she rear ended another vehicle that was involved in another accident; she was involved in a four vehicle pile-up. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact stated that her daughter face hit the back of the passenger side seat and sustained a busted lip; however, she did not need medical attention. No other injuries were reported at the scene. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the contact's house where it remained in her possession. The dealer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The manufacturer had yet be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 108,000.

I was driving down the road at 65mph, when My transmission blew. I believe the correct term is that my torque converter went out. I basically came to a dead stop in traffic, endangering my life and my children's. My understanding is that this is a common issue with this type of transmission. Chevrolet should be ashamed of themselves for not recalling this item.

My dash is cracked in 3 places. One is around the passenger airbag. If the air bag is deployed it could send jagged edges into the face of a passenger. Very unsafe and GM just ignores the problem. I had a cracked dash with a Lexus and they replaced the dash no problem. Why won’t GM fix this problem?

STEERING
The steering locks up while turning. Also grinds most of the time. The steering shaft retainer in the column fails and allows the shaft bolt to rub on the lower end of the column. Has tsb PIT5312-B. But gm will not cover this. This is a huge safety concern.

My dashboard is cracked in multiple places. It is broken around the airbag. My vehicle has been garage kept. My concern is that in an accident the dashboard could shatter sending shrapnel toward driver and passenger. Further because the crack is around the airbag it could puncture the airbag on deployment rendering it ineffective resulting in serious injury or death.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Second Inquiry on this problem, a detailed description was sent previously and no response was ever received. 2015 Chevy Tahoe in short, interior LED lights flash when ever the brake is applied. Interior LED lights flash when left turn signal is activated. Dealer stated that a Service Bulletin was created for this issue as an obvious safety issue at night. Electrical tape over the second seat LED's Dealer wanted at the time $180.00 to remedy the problem. (Documented) Dealer on next recall visit, Customer Service stated that they were unaware of such an issue, and also that this was the first that he had heard of it. Internet is well aware of the electrical issue.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, STEERING, SUSPENSION
Vehicle randomly throws Stabilitrak, Traction control and ABS codes. Engine derates to limp mode. Transmission goes to full line pressure shifts. A cycle of the ignition system will reset the system a majority of the time. There is no "recall" but the general consensus in the mechanical world is two things cause this issue. Throttle body is bad and/or the steering position sensor fails causing the stabilitrak system to be disabled (which in a 2013 Tahoe, stabilitrak cannot be turned off) I have replaced the throttle body with an OEM part and the problem still occurs with our vehicle. It is a big enough of a parts failure/equipment failure that most of my mechanic buddies I've talked to knew exactly what I was talking about and said I replaced these two parts and the problem was solved. May not be enough for a recall but a TSB really should be issued because I've found a lot of information online that a lot of people are having this same issue. Between this website's complaint section and other Chevy/GM forums, I'm estimating 5000-10000 people have had similar issues with the stabilitrak being disabled somehow while driving. Manufacturers need to be held accountable for parts failures like this, as when recalls do finally happen, it is next to impossible to get the vehicle in and repaired in a timely matter (Takata air bag inflator issue is a great example, our local dealer cannot give me an estimated date they can get the vehicle in for repairs because its a mass parts recall and the replacement parts are unavailable) Incident has happened over a dozen times in the past 6 months but the additional details will not let me select multiple dates

While driving, I heard a ticking noise, that sounded like rocks being thrown in the fender well. The more I drove, the sound and frequency increased. Then, I started to lose power, like it was taking longer to shift. My safety and others were at risk because continuing to drive with lifter issues could’ve caused engine failure, which could’ve caused an accident. The problem was confirmed at a dealership. I don’t know if anyone else inspected it. No lights appeared until after I had it towed to the dealership. They said the warning lights came on for them.

We took our vehicle to the Chevrolet dealer: Don Mealey Chevrolet 17185 State Road 50 Clermont, Fl. 34711 (352)394-6176. They said they would not replace the defective air bag part unless we agreed that they would destroy our dash by completing the recalled part replacement. We purchased the vehicle brand new and have taken excellent care of it and the dash is in excellent condition, how can they refuse to do the required FREE recall unless we agree that if they destroy our dash. Please help us get this important safety recall completed. My name is [XXX]. I’m sure if Chevrolet is doing this to us there are other Consumers that they are doing this to that will not speak up. My family’s safety depends on the safety equipment that they placed in the vehicle that we purchased in good faith. I wanted to try this option prior to engagement of a Consumer Attorney. POWER TRAIN
The gear shifting doesn’t seem to grab properly all the time. It will lurch into gear sometimes and sometime won’t engage in the gear indicated. The indicator lights dimmed and now don’t illuminate so you don’t know what gear you are in. It seems like this is a specific recall to my vehicle but when I enter my vin it says my car is not affected. I hope this can be looked into and repaired under the recall.

SERVICE BRAKES
When I apply the brake it goes to the floor, I have to pump my brake pedal. Once the Tahoe slows to a stop it rolls forward as the brake is still engaged and pressed to the floor. When backing up in reverse the brakes grind when using a downhill grade. Lastly the brake assist light has illuminated on the control panel.

SERVICE BRAKES
Brakes do not work when driving in slow speeds. I could not stop my 2016 Tahoe in a shopping center parking lot. Pedal was stiff and non responsive. I had the same issue parking in my garage. Vehicle did not stop and went into the wall!!
