Engine: Power lost and engine shut down. Yes, it is available for inspection. Warning Lamps: Engine lamp came on: [XXX] [XXX] Engine shut down while driving. While bring my Grandson, home from school. I was on the ramp to exit the interstate, at the stop sign I lightly touched my brakes because I was going very slow, nothing was coming when I accelerated the engine totally shut down in between both lanes on a state highway. All of the warning lamps on the dashboard were lighting up and blinking, all of the alerts were making noises, no power and I had no control of the vehicle, then the “press start signal” came on, I had to quickly place from drive to park, and then press the start button to crank the vehicle. While this was going on my Grandson asked me in a startled voice “what’s happening”. Scary is not the word “I saw my life and his life flash before my eyes” with my Grandson in the vehicle. That’s a [XXX] of a feeling that you never want to experience. Then he said “this is nothing but a tin can ”. All of my family calls this vehicle a “Tin Can”! This was a very dangerous situation that could have been life-threatening or death. The problem has not been reproduced. Dealership sent a GM Field Service Engineer to inspect vehicle on 3/18/25. I have had many problems with this vehicle that cannot be diagnosed. Engineer test drove twice and scanned for codes before and after test drives. His findings: no codes found, was unable to reproduce power loss, and loose negative terminal on battery post tightened. While driving on the highway the engine started to makes noise and shut down in seconds without warning- we glided down an off-ramp narrowly avoiding oncoming traffic and was towed away on the ramp - the engine only has 68,000 miles and it well maintained. It’s my understanding that the NHTSA is investigating problems with the 6.2 L engines on 2022 Tahoes that have sudden lost of power please add my name to the investigation- GM has refused to help I’m hoping that a recall which is warranted will help with the $11,869 cost to replace the engine.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
I was driving the vehicle, exiting the parking lot when the engine and all electrical components turned off. This could have easily caused and accident as there were multiple vehicles that had to go around me while I tried to restart the vehicle. The engine would crank but not start up and left me stranded in the middle of the road AND in the middle of two lanes. When I finally got the vehicle towed several days later (which was not easy because in order to put the transmission in neutral without the engine being on, a special tool is needed) I took it to the dealership. They confirmed it was the fuel controller that went bad for the second time. The first time the vehicle was stuck in my garage at home with the same symptoms. They apparently replaced it with another faulty part that is a ticking time bomb. I have no faith that this won't happen again.

I was driving along the highway at 11pm when I the vehicle started shaking and I heard strange sounds coming from outside the vehicle. I pulled over to inspect and realized it was coming from the engine bay. The engine was making knocking, rattling, and belt slipping noises and the entire vehicle was shaking and the engine also stuttering. I was able to drive the vehicle to a nearby plaza where I had it towed the following morning. There were no warning signs, the vehicle ran properly up until this occurred. The dealership inspected it and told me the engine needs to be replaced and it was likely that a rod bearing that went bad. This happened nearly 2 months ago and I am still waiting for a new engine.

The engine stoped running at about 50mph. Beatty Chevrolet in Knoxville TN has car Suddenl deceleration no brake lights and stuck on curvy [XXX] Engine is lockedup and Beaty ordered a new engine with gm approval Beaty Chevrolet inspected the engine The only message was push start again. At approximately 19.000 miles when the car sits for an extended period of time, at the first start up, blue smoke comes from the exhaust tail pipe. Brought it to the dealer and they said that, that was normal. With the issues they are having with the engines, I wanted this to be noted, because blue smoke is indicative of either bad piston rings or bad valve seals. This should not be happening on a vehicle with 19,000 miles and have oil changes at every 3000 miles.

2022 Chevy Tahoe with 32,292 miles of in-town and highway driving, never any towing. Perfectly maintained on time. Suddenly started to not respond to acceleration, and jolting, then would not reverse. Transmission valve body has already gone out. GM acknowledged the problem. States there is a national shortage of this part. There is nothing they know of being done about. Park the vehicle and wait for a part to become available. No ETA, but 2,200 of this part have already been requested recently.

Fuel Pump Module Failure at 27k miles, experienced total loss of power while driving. GM issued a recall for this part in other 2021 Tahoes, but said my vehicle is not included in the recall. Researching online this seems to be a large problem with this model year, yet they did not recall all vehicles. Clearly mine was effected.

We were driving on a busy interstate in Knoxville, TN on a Sunday. We were 2 hours from home and my 2023 Tahoe basically went into limp mode while I was in the fast lane and the check engine light came on. No warning in advance. The speed reduced, which backed traffic up, and put me and my 4 children in danger. We finally got off the interstate and the vehicle had to be towed in to the nearest dealership. I had a friend drive us to enterprise where they put us in a Jeep Grand Wagoneer. On Monday, I received a call from the dealership stating they had good and bad news. The good news was the repair is covered by warranty but the bad news was it will be 2-3 months before they can get the part. The part is on back order and several people are waiting ahead of me. The said part is a valve body for the engine/transmission. The dealership also informed me that warranty will not cover a non-GM vehicle and that they will only pay for a rental up to 44.00/day. It’s not my fault the part is on back order, nor that enterprise gave me a non-GM vehicle. Also, I have a family of 6, which is why I have a Tahoe and I cannot be put in a small sedan. My children play sports, we have upcoming vacation, and quite frankly, I didn't pay 90,000.00 for a vehicle to be placed in a vehicle that I don’t feel is safe for my family. If I had wanted a sedan, I would have bought one. GM should take better care of their customers, especially when something is like this is not the customers fault!!! I have contacted GM and have been told I will be called back by a supervisor each time I talk to someone. This is unacceptable!!

Brand new 2024 Z71 Tahoe at 11,000 miles had transmission failure due to the transmission valve body failing. No previous issues, has never driven long distance, has never towed anything. While in school drop off line was alerted and given an error message on screen stating “reduced acceleration, drive with caution” placing the vehicle in limp mode and check engine light came on.

The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was able to restart and was driven to the residence. The contact stated that the failure recurred while driving, and the steering wheel seized. The contact was able to veer over to the shoulder of the road. The vehicle failed to restart as intended and was towed to an unknown dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuse box and the battery had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred immediately after the contact drove off the dealer's parking lot. Additionally, the contact noticed an abnormal metallic sound coming from under the hood. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with engine failure. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 18,500.

I want to file a complaint on Chevy I have a high country, 2021, my dealership has had it for over 2 months, can't get the part to fix it - valve body- They have another one there, that's been there for 5 months, can't get the part. So, 2 Tahoes at same dealership, same problem, and can't get the part to fix. I have escalated to chevy, have a case number, chevy themselves can't get the part to fix my truck. But I still have to pay for it-big payment for something, I can't drive, isn't worth anything for trade and useless- I am furious. I have been a lifetime chevy owner-and this is changing my mind. Last nights communication with chevy escalation please read: Dear STACEY, We have the following update for your 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe, case number [XXX]. We are still experiencing a delay on the part(s) needed to repair your 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. We understand this is a significant inconvenience and we continue to work diligently to resolve the delay. However Janet, if you can not find the part. I want my truck fixed asap. If that means a new transmission then that means a new transmission. This is a Chevy problem and Chevy knows it. Otherwise, payoff my truck. Give me full value so I can trade it I owe $54k. Not to be a complete rude person. But if my truck doesn’t get fixed fast. I’m going to start escalating this to who ever will listen I know this isn’t your fault. But it’s not mine either. And I have a $1300 a month payment for something I can’t drive. And Chevy can’t fix! vehicle shutters when downshifting/slowing. Most commonly at cruising speeds between 40 and 50 mph, but does occur at lower speeds as well. Vehicle can be felt vibrating/shaking consistently every time it is driven. Was taken into a dealership, was not adequately diagnosed as it was only test driven 1 mile per the paperwork and they could not duplicate the issue and was told they were "in the business of making money to repair vehicles" and this was a warranty repair. While leaving a gentleman was walking in and happened to have the same type of vehicle and asked my husband what we were there for, turns out he was having the same issues. The vehicle shuttered the entire drive home after leaving the dealership and has continued since.

I was driving and the driver dash frozen. I couldn't tell my speed, it didn't indicate blinker or hazards. It would say i was in "D" when the car was parked. The center dash shut down completely. The seat belt indicator didn't work, none of the charging ports worked. **THIS IS A RENTAL CAR**** I do have video of the dash.

Vehicle suddenly lost power at 70mph in heavy traffic. This was after a very brief flash of the electrical system off and then back on. Vehicle was safely pulled to the side of the road (luckily). The electrical system kept demanding to “push start” and then would shut off and then immediately come back on, but without the engine starting. The vehicle would not completely turn off, or turn back on from that point forward, killing the battery in the process. We called Onstar, who had it towed to Bill Estes Chevrolet in Carmel Indiana. Mark in the service department then informed us that the engine was completely seized up and would require an engine replacement.

I was driving on [XXX] thru Atlanta to meet my husband in Adairsville, Georgia, and my car started squealing like a belt was squealing and then it started making a loud knocking noise and shut off I was able to get it to the shoulder to see what was going on, when I realized it was in the motor I was about half a mile to the next exit as I did not feel safe being on the side of the road managed to make it to the truck stop after it cut off several times just imagine if someone was close behind me when my Tahoe kept shutting off it could have been a very bad accident called gm roadside assistance and had vehicle towed to nearest dealer they couldn’t look at it so my husband loaded it into the back of his lowboy trailer and took it to hometown dealer where I bought it from Tahoe only had 22599 miles on it and I paid over 90k for this I feel like we should be compensated for this and the downtime of not knowing when I will get it back INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
