Cracked dashboard extending from air bag compartment. Cracked dashboard extending from drivers side windshield up to instrument cluster. This truck spends most of its time in the garage and has less than 100,000 miles. First crack appeared around 40,000 miles and second around 88,000 miles.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
On more than one occasion, the vehicle jolted forward when going to accelerate from being stopped at a red light. It felt like the vehicle was rear ended by a vehicle behind (it was not) to give some perspective. The last time it happened, the engine shut down but the dash stayed on, and the dash would not turn off, nor would the engine restart. The Chevrolet dealership which it was towed to is stating that the wires from the engine wire harness are chaffing and that the entire engine wire harness needs to be replaced. Additionally, there is a service bulletin posted by GM indicating that the proper repair for this is to replace the engine wire harness and add additional protection, which is a clear indication of faulty engineering to begin with.

POWER TRAIN
The transmission has a defect. While towing 8,000lb trailer going up a small grade, the truck shuddered then immediately downshifted violently, causing the truck to skid and almost jack-knifing the truck and trailer. . The dealership has confirmed the issue as a valve body failure in the transmission. The dealership has the vehicle for diagnosis and repair. No codes or warnings were displayed at the time of the incident. The dealership updated the software which produced a powertrain failure code, the valve body failed.

POWER TRAIN
1. Experiencing intermittent hard shifting accompanied by shock and noise, 2. Unexpected shifting and shifting delays that cause rapid RPM increases. These issues were primarily observed at low gears and worse with stop and go traffic. The check engine light appeared approximately one month after noticing these symptoms.

ENGINE
Cylinder 6 misfire. The mechanics have replaced everything that could be triggering the cylinder 6 misfire and still it is having problems they said the only way to fix it is to replace the engine but I should not have to replace an engine with low miles and that has been babied. I have also looked on multiple sites with people who own the same truck and all have the same exact problem with the same cylinder. Something needs to be done about this issue especially if it’s a reoccurring one, either have a recall on it and fix it or something.

SEAT BELTS
The cable that attaches the driver seat belt to the base of the seat broke while I was sitting in the vehicle driving. Truck has been well cared for and this seems like a major safety issue since the seatbelt has been ineffective for who knows how long at this point. Online recall tool indicates I have 0 open recalls too. Thank you!

ENGINE
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine compartment. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the valve lifters, resulting in damage to the camshaft. The vehicle was repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Technical Service Bulletin Number: 19-NA-219. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 160,000.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
WHILE USING CRUISE CONTROL ON FREEWAY AT APPROX 70 MPH WHEN HEADED UP HILL AND THE VEHICLE REACHES APPROX. 2500-3k TACH, THE CRUISE WILL DISENGAGE AND SPEED WILL DROP IMMEDIATELY WITH NO WARNING. DEALER SAYS MANUAL STATES ONE MAY HAVE TO USE THROTTLE TO MAINTAIN SPEED BUT DOES NOT MENTION CRUISE DROPPING OFF. THIS IS AN EXTREME SAFETY RISK WHEN A VEHICLE IS BEHIND YOU ACCELERATING ON THE SAME INCLINE AND YOU SUDDENLY DROP SPEED WITH NO BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATING.

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:OIL/LUBRICATION: OIL COOLER
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was a message displayed reading "Low Oil Pressure" prompting the contact to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway. After a visual inspection of the exterior of the vehicle, the contact observed an excessive amount of oil leaking underneath the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who determined that the oil cooler line had detached. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Customer Satisfaction Program: N192220080. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 111,000.

DUE TO THIS LEAK, THERE IS AN ODOR IN THE VEHICLE CAUSED BY MOLD OR MILDEW WHICH IS CREATING BREATHING AND ALERGY ISSUES. I RECENTLY HAD OPEN HEART SURGURY AND THIS IS STARTING TO EFFECT ME TO THE POINT I CAN NOT BE IN MY VEHICLE WITHOUT THE WINDOWS ROLLED ALL THE WAY DOWN. The contact owns a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that while the vehicle was turned off and parked in the driveway, the contact heard a loud explosion. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the rear passenger’s side side-curtain air bag erroneously deployed. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The contact stated that during the failure, shrapnel and shards of metal pierced the roof and caused multiple holes in the roof of the vehicle. The local dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 72,500.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM, POWER TRAIN, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
Fuel regulator- high/low pressure failed. Yes the vehicle is available for inspection (currently at Rotolo Chevrolet). My safety and others were compromised because was on freeway approximately 75 mph and my power and speed was unexpectedly reduced. Almost caused pile up, I had to take evasive measures to guide truck to slow lane, and off the road. Yes, the problem has been confirmed [XXX] by certified Chevrolet technicians at Rotolo Chevrolet-Fontana California. Yes the part/vehicle has been inspected by Certified Chevrolet technician. A few odd hard engine starts(June/July figured a "cold" start). 2 weeks prior([XXX]) to the on road incident, the check engine light came on while driving, stopped vehicle to refuel- when the truck was restarted the check light was no longer illuminated. Scheduled ASAP service appointment 8/16/24 with Chevrolet, they couldn't take it sooner than 8/19/24 being that my truck is still under power train warranty. Unfortunately they say a faulty Fuel regulator is not covered. Document is initial service request order, I was called by Technician stating the specific (fuel regulator) issue and that my repair cost would be over $1,030.00. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact became aware that the electronic power steering was not functioning properly, requiring increased effort to maneuver the vehicle. SUSPENSION
Vibration occurs when driving at highway speed. Vibration can be felt in the steering wheel, drivers seat, and passenger seat. I believe this is related to my vechicles front hub bearing extensions. there was a TSB for this issue on presious model trucks and the same part is used on 2024 models.

SERVICE BRAKES
We tow a 2024 Grand Design Solitude 310GK with our 2020 Chevy Silverado 3500 diesel truck. We are getting frequent but intermittent loss of our trailer brakes during towing. As you can imagine this is a serious safety issue. We will be towing and receive a message on the display "Trailer Brakes Disconnected" then typically followed by "Service Trailer Brakes". This has been happening more frequently over the past 3 months. Imagine driving down a hill with a 15K pound rv pushing you and there are NO brakes on the 5th wheel. It is extremely scary and dangerous. I've researched on the internet and Facebook and there seems to be a "Technical Bulletin" from GM Bulletin No.: 23-NA-149 Date: September, 2023 recommending the replacement of the Trailer Brake Control Module. I've called to have the dealer replace our brake control module but it is not covered because it is a "Bulletin" and not a "recall". This is absurd and the manufacturer should take care of this known issue.
