- #11694670October 21, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
Many 2025 Hyundai Tucson owners have reported significant issues with the driver attention warning feature, particularly when using cruise control and wearing sunglasses, leading to safety concerns and frustration. Common Complaints Constant Alerts: Many drivers have experienced the driver attention warning activating unnecessarily, especially while using cruise control. Users report that the system beeps and prompts them to keep their eyes on the road, even when they are attentive and looking straight ahead. This has led to frustration, with some considering disabling the feature entirely. 2 Sunglasses Interference: A recurring issue is that the driver attention warning system struggles to detect the driver's eyes when sunglasses are worn. This has caused the system to issue warnings and disable cruise control, which can be particularly dangerous in heavy traffic situations. Drivers have noted that even moderately tinted sunglasses can trigger these alerts, making it difficult to use the vehicle comfortably. 2 Safety Concerns: Some users have reported alarming incidents where the driver attention warning system caused abrupt braking, leading to near-collisions. For instance, one driver described a situation where the system suddenly applied the brakes while driving between vehicles, creating a hazardous situation. This has raised serious safety concerns among owners, particularly regarding the system's reliability and responsiveness. 1 Lack of Support from Hyundai: Many drivers have expressed dissatisfaction with Hyundai's response to these issues. Complaints about the driver attention warning feature have been met with minimal support, and some users feel that their concerns are not being adequately addressed by the manufacturer. 2 3 Sources Summary of Issues Overall, the driver attention warning feature in the 2025 Hyundai Tucson has been a source of frustration and concern for many owners. The combination of false alerts, interference from sunglasses.

There is a "consider taking a break" warning that pops up pretty often on this car. When I am doing normal driving. It is a MAJOR distraction and creates an unsafe situation. There is no way to turn off this feature

After using horn on rainy highway driving it stopped working completely. Called dealer with issue and scheduled appointment. After two day they said it is a know issue and horns will take 2-3 business days to order. Took 5. Getting horns replaced today but told by service tech that this is a known safety issue to Hyundai. Horns are a basic piece of equipment. Should be recalled and better designed.

The car breaks itself so abruptly when there is no real danger. This has almost caused for me to be rear ended on multiple occasions. Especially scary on the freeway. The forward collision warning is set to "late," and it still causes a huge jolt.

- #11694065October 17, 2025AIR BAGS, STRUCTURE:BODY
On October 13th 2025, we were involved in a serious collision while driving our 2018 Hyundai Tucson. The vehicle was struck from behind and spun into a semi-truck, totalling the vehicle. Despite the forward and lateral collision to the semi-truck, no airbags deployed at all during the accident. This resulted in the Tucson driver striking his head on the steering wheel. Our 5-month old son was also on-board the vehicle in his car seat. While everyone walked away from the accident, both adults passengers had whiplash/minor neck injuries that could have been mitigated by airbags deploying. We have serious safety concerns about Hyundai's airbags because of this incident.

The driver side front sidewall developed a shake then a crack appeared in the sidewall about 4 inches long. The other tires show signs of dry rott. They have worn away to nothing in 21k miles less than a year. Can provide mechanic reports of the validity of my car's parts cause ive had a horrible vibration and sound. Turns out the tires are coming apart. And they are refusing to fix it. Said too much of the tires worn away. I have proof that all possible precautions were taken as ive spent a good bit of money having the garage confirm my parts are good trying to track that vibration and sound down. Now im seeing more and more people reporting this. The reviews on these tires are more of the same. Vibration and separation. This isn't right. That warranty is bs especially when I reached out yo kumho 2 times previously. Theyre going to get someone killed. 3 of the 4 tires are showing signs of failure. 21k miles in on a 65k tire balanced and rotated every 5k miles

[XXX] [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] Vehicle Information: • VIN: [XXX] • Year: 2019 • Make: Hyundai • Model: Tucson • Mileage: 132,303 Problem Description: On Oct 11, 2025, my 2019 Hyundai Tucson entered limp mode on the freeway, losing power suddenly, posing a safety risk. This followed a dealership visit a couple months ago for a recall engine repair (possibly 21V-727). They returned the car with a check engine light, claiming it was a false error needing a reset on my next visit. No reset was done. On Oct 11, the limp mode forced a tow back to the dealership. They now demand $300 for diagnostics and refuse a loaner, claiming it may not be warranty-related. I’ve escalated to Hyundai national team case number : 41621677 with no resolution after four days. This feels like a safety defect tied to the prior recall work. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Engine started making a knocking sound, light came on. Accelerates and decelerates on it's own. Dealership will not provide a diagnosis in any way, but says complete engine replacement is the answer. Car has been at dealership for almost a month.

I have taken the vehicle to dealer every month since purchase . The light for the forward collision inside the RPM dial continues to come on as I driving . I have made several attempts with the dealer to fix this matter. The vehicle is new . It now has 13,696 miles on it now since purchase. I have a case with HYUNDAI of America . I left my vehicle with the dealer for a month of this time and I got my vehicle back , it had grey seats instead of black. My tires were different as there are rotated burn marks on the exterior of them . Something is wrong here . I am inheriting a problem that is not safe while driving . My understanding from reading about the forward collision light is deactivating while driving . How is this safe for the driver and occupants or others on the road .

The contact owns a 2020 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the low oil warning light briefly illuminated. Upon inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the engine oil level was low. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the engine was not consuming oil and that an oil change was needed. The dealer advised the contact to return after 1,000 miles to inspect the oil level. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer; however, it was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 72,000.

My Tucson has been using an absurd amount of oil for the past 30,000 plus miles i had it in the shop for repairs for the exhaust/ turbo leaking due to broken stud bolt that finally was covered under warranty. But did nothing for the burning of oil. No oil leaks. It used a quart for every 500 miles. Now no warranty left i have a cylinder #1 misfire and have replaced sparkplug and will not come out of limp mode. Within a mile of driving the plug is oil fouled and goes back into limp mode. Probably will get no help from Hyundai to rebuild/ replacement of the motor.

In between my last 3 oil changes I have “lost” all of my oil in my car. Checked my oil randomly and there was NO OIL at all on the stick. After this last change I have checked it every week. I did not check for 2 weeks less than 1,000miles and it was below the low on the mark. Obviously running out of oil while driving is not safe and can cause the engine to blow. This can cause a crash or fire. There have been numerous issues with this and the cars need recalled. This is ridiculous.

I bought a Hyundai Tucson Hybrid 2025 on Aug. 7, 2025. My car has 1541 miles on Oct. 8. I tried to drive my car out of the garage, and the engine would start, but it wouldn't move forward or backward. There were three warnings on the dashboard: Powertrain, hybrid, and something. Hyundai headquarters called and said there was a problem with my car. They will send a tow truck. It has been one week since my car was taken to the dealer. I haven't heard back. When I called today, they said there was a problem with the TCM and they ordered a module. So, I guess I just have to wait and see.

Car goes into limp mode and will not accelerate over 25 mph. This has happened 5 times while driving in traffic. It is very unsafe and could be the cause of an accident. Fortunately we found a place to pull off the road, wait a while, and restart the car.
