- #11591436May 30, 2024FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM, ENGINE, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
On 05/11/2024, I accelerated onto the freeway at which point my vehicle would no longer go past 50 mph with the pedal to the floor. I had my two small children in the car at the time. It was dangerous as cars around us were going 65+ mph. The check engine light started blinking when this was occurring. Prior to that the check engine light had been on because the dealership claimed they didn’t know why it was triggering and that they have to take my engine out and replace it just to explore the issue. I don’t have the money for that. It has a knocking sound, a pungent fuel smell and it still won’t accelerate. I only have 85k miles on the car.

I received a recall notice from Hyundai 11-06-23 on my 4 door Tucson has a brake leak problem which could cause brake failure and fire. It also stated to not park my vehicle in the garage. I called Hyundai on 11-17-23, 02-27-24 and 5--27-24 and was told no date to fix the problem. I hope my brakes don't fail or my car catches on fire as it's been 6 months waiting for the repairs.

While driving my vehicle (fewer than 3,000 miles on it) I pulled out of a parking lot onto a busy street. The car suddenly stopped driving, slowing to a complete stop. The dashboard read "Auto start stop reset required." I had to place the car in park (on the busy road) and press the start button to resume driving. Temperature gauge read normal, gas was full, no oddities showing on my dash board.

I was driving on the highway when my vehicle started decelerating and shutting down completely. I ended up safely pulling over because it could’ve been a serious accident and called FHP they tested my car code p1326 came up I had it towed to the dealership where they assured me I had the extended warranty and that the car should be covered and I don’t have to pay out of pocket. What the dealership told me would take 2 days has now been almost a month and still counting. I’ve had 3 denials for engine replacement due to being outside of warranty with Hyundai even though I have the extended warranty. The dealership has sent pictures and spoke with my case manager at Hyundai to confirm that the engine failure was due to the bent connecting rod bearing that is again covered under warranty. They came back and said other codes populated showing the cause was not the rod bearing but that has to be false. One of the other codes was regarding coolant and I’ve never had any issues with my car overheating or anything prior to my engine shutting down on the highway. I never had any flashing lights or warning signals on my dashboard. This was very unexpected and I refuse to pay for a repair that I didn’t cause especially when this is consistent with Hyundai and their engines. This is a 2019 I should not have any issues. I need a solution quick

The passenger door window rolled down but would not come back up. I was able to grab the window and pull it up. This is a safety issue because anyone can just push the window down. Not too mention if an officer needed you to roll down the window you could not.

Door latch assembly failed and will not allow driver side door to be opened after locking. Door must be opened from inside to get in. Both rear doors were already repaired several years ago for same issue under warranty but that has now expired.

The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not covered under recall. The car would hesitate to accelerate causing the engine to rev high and then take off. It had gotten progressively worse with no error codes detected. With a lack of code, nothing could be done. My daughter was not comfortable driving the car due to the fact it had gotten so bad so I was driving her to school. While going 50 mph the engine started to rev high then completely died with no error or warning. I was able to coast off safely, however an inexperienced driver may not have been able to do the same. A recall needs to be issued ASAP before there are more serious consequences.

Internal engine failure; no compression cylinder. My vehicle was affected by the Tucson Dual Clutch Transmission Reprogramming recall. In higher ambient temperatures and specific operating conditions, the transmission clutch application logic can result in a delayed engagement when accelerating from a stop, and the vehicle would not accelerate. Inability to move the vehicle in traffic. The car is well maintained and in excellent shape. They estimated the cost to replace the engine at $14,000! and Hyundai Dealer Larry Miller denied any help with the repair cost.

The vehicle is a 2020 Hyundai Tucson with AWD. Current mileage of the vehicle is 58,309. In the last 10K miles, there have had 4 separate instances of a sustained flashing check engine light that has put the car into limp mode. Since the first instance, a knock sensor, catalytic converter, and spark plug coil, among other things, have been replaced. However, the issues persist and have yet to be resolved. The engine continues to misfire, resulting in dangerous driving situations. Most recently (XXX) the car went into limp mode on an interstate highway where the vehicle was unable to accelerate and could not exceed 2000 RPMs. The code scanner read P1326 - Glow Relay Short Circuit. This was just a week after the vehicle was towed to McGovern Hyundai in Brockton, due to the car being in limp mode (XXX) and the vehicle was given a clean bill of health. I was told that there was no cause for concern and the code was cleared. I’m extremely concerned about this issue with the vehicle and don’t feel that it is safe to drive, especially when it loses power on the highway. The vehicle is insured, but has not been inspected by an insurer. Nor has the vehicle been inspected by police. The car has been inspected by the dealership, but that have not produced any findings. The car is certainly available for inspection upon request. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Both rear doors will not open from inside or outside. This began 3 years ago, with intermittent opening issues. For the last six months, neither rear door will open from inside, or outside. With the THOUSANDS of complaints I have seen online, one would THINK our GOVERNMENT would DO SOMETHING!!!

The contact owns a 2010 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving 40-45 MPH, there was an abnormally loud sound coming from underneath the hood and the temperature gauge fluctuated. The vehicle lost motive power. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The contact stated that upon opening the hood, an unknown engine part was fractured, and several unknown parts had detached and were leaning on the driver's side of the vehicle. The local dealer was contacted, and an appointment was scheduled for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Additionally, the contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V651000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 199,996. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

- #11590164May 22, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The ABS, ! Brake and Auto Hold lights activated. I took in into the Hyundai Joplin, MO dealership on May 2, 2024. They could not find any thrown codes and suggested it was most likely the "IEB Module" which they replaced and after doing so, the warning lights remained activated. As of May 22, 2024, they are ordering a new IEB Module to install (backordered into June). This seems oddly similar to previous ABS and brake problems of earlier models and makes me feel uneasy with the safety of this vehicle should they ever get it remedied.

Engine has been burning through oil fast, requiring me to add oil every couple of weeks. 2 difference service places have told me this and also told me to contact Hyundai to file a complaint, as many other 2017 Hyundai Tucsons have recalls out for the same reason. This could cause an engine to fail if oil burns all the way out without my knowledge - safety hazard for me and others on the road. Car also sputters and struggles to accelerate at times, which has been an issue since getting the car in 2020. Please consider recalling to fix said issues.
