The contact owns a 2017 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 to 60 MPH, the emission warning light illuminated. The contact was concerned about the vehicle stalling while driving. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel injector, torque converter, and front and rear catalytic converters needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was contacted and offered goodwill assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 127,000.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
WHEN I STARTED MY 2019 HONDA PILOT TOURING CAR ON 7/13/26 MORNING, WHERE THE SCREEN WHERE THE SPEED USUALLY SHOWS SHOWED AMBER COLORED WARNINGS FOR HONDA SENSING FEATURES: ACC, LKAS, CMBS, ROAD DEPARTURE MITIGATION SYSTEM, AUTO HIGH BEAM. LKAS, CMBS AND BRAKE SYSTEM AMBER ICONS ARE ON. INFOTAINMENT DISPLAY SHOWS ACC AND CMBS HAS A PROBLEM. I TRIED CLEANING THE WINDSHIELD AND SENSORS IN THE FRONT BUT SAME WARNINGS STILL CONTINUED TO SHOW AT NEXT START UP AND DRIVE. LAST FEW DAYS I STARTED IT STILL POPS UP SO I TOOK IT TO INDEPENDENT SHOP YESTERDAY 7/15/26. THEY PULLED A U-CODE FOR MULTIPURPOSE CAMERA, TRIED TO CLEAN THE SENSORS BUT WARNINGS WOULD STILL SHOW SO IT'S A HARD CODE NOW. I HAD THEM DOCUMENT IT FOR ME. THESE ARE SAFETY FEATURES THAT CAME WITH THE CAR, SHOULD THEY BE FAILING THIS EARLY ON? I HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING TO THERE, HAVEN'T BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENTS INVOLVING THAT AREA AND HAVEN'T HAD WINDSHIELD REPLACED EITHER. THEY WEREN'T ABLE TO FIX IT AS THEY DON'T HAVE THE CALIBRATION EQUIPMENT SO SAID WE'D NEED TO SEND TO HONDA DEALER.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
VEHICLE SAFETY COMPLAINT - RECALL REPAIR FAILURE AND CMBS MALFUNCTION I am filing a formal vehicle safety complaint regarding two critical defects on my vehicle (VIN: [XXX]) and the refusal of American Honda Motor Co. to address them under Corporate Case #XXX. 1. CRITICAL SAFETY HAZARD (PHANTOM BRAKING): The vehicle's Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) / Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) is experiencing severe and dangerous malfunctions. While driving at highway speeds through construction zones with absolutely zero obstacles, vehicles, or pedestrians ahead, the vehicle violently and unpredictably slams on the brakes by itself. This unprovoked emergency braking creates an immediate and extreme risk of a catastrophic rear-end collision on the highway. 2. FEDERAL SAFETY RECALL REPAIR FAILURE (CAMPAIGN ZEM): The vehicle's instrument cluster, infotainment display screen, backup camera, and audio system repeatedly go completely black and reset while driving, disabling all driver visibility of vehicle speed, safety alerts, backup assist, and vital indicators. While NHTSA records indicate that the ZEM Recall Campaign was previously logged as "completed" on this VIN, the defect is fully active. This constitutes an official federal recall repair failure. The original safety hazard remains unresolved. MANUFACTURER RESPONSE & REFUSAL: American Honda Corporate was formally notified of both issues under Case #XXX. Corporate responded by completely ignoring the severe phantom braking defect and refused to authorize a safety diagnostic. Furthermore, they used the administrative status of the closed ZEM recall to deny any responsibility for the ongoing screen, camera, and audio failure. American Honda is actively forcing me to drive a vehicle with a failed safety recall repair and a defective autonomous braking system unless I pay out-of-pocket diagnostic fees to the dealer (Dave Mungenast St. Louis Honda). The contact owns a 2021 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that at all times during the use of the vehicle, the infotainment display system goes blank. The contact also noticed a popping and crackling noise coming from the audio speakers. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V431000 (Back Over Prevention) to have already been performed on the vehicle, but the issue has since recurred. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with a factory defect involving a dashboard wiring harness that was physically bent at a 90-degree angle from the production plant. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 75,000.

The car shut off and put itself in neutral in the middle of the road. It seemed that the automatic shutoff glitched and caused the car to shift to neutral. We had to shut it off then start it back. It didn’t start right up. We had to try a couple of times. It was very scary being stranded in the middle of the road and not knowing how to correct the problem.

I own a 2016 Honda Pilot with 75k miles on it. The engine has started knocking and i have taken it to an official Honda dealership and i have been told there is a problem with the rod bearing in the engine. I know there have been a mass recall on Honda Pilots due to this very issue but apparently mine is not included in the recall even though the issue is the exact same as the ones stated in the recalls. Very frustrating especially when the car has been Honda maintained and is well under 100k miles

Left home driving 5 min down the road the car suddenly started hiccuping as to power I almost wrecked it recovered but started again …was a prime example of that fuel pump issue …i turned around drove home barely made it going slow …smelling a low grade sweetish burning smell…made it home checked and found this recall online of the fuel pump issue…called dealership asked to get this fixed they told me I had to get it there they would not provide a tow and the recall issue has made it unsafe to drive…the problem is their fault and now I am expected to to pay 200 to get there…they should tow and fix… they also would not cover a loaner I’m out transportation for days and this has caused all sorts of issues as I have to get to work etc…

The rear passenger-side (second-row, right-side outboard) seatbelt warning system is defective, repeatedly triggering false "unbuckled" alarms even when a passenger is securely buckled in. This is a known manufacturing defect involving the occupant detection sensor inside the seat cushion frame, which sends intermittent, incorrect signals to the vehicle's computer. The defect presents a severe safety hazard. The continuous, loud chiming distracts the driver and causes immediate "alarm fatigue." This forces the driver to ignore seatbelt warnings, creating a dangerous situation where a rear passenger (including a child) could actually become unbuckled without the driver realizing it, significantly increasing the risk of injury or death in a crash. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership for inspection, but technicians reported they could not replicate the intermittent failure at that specific moment. However, the system immediately failed again the very first time a passenger sat in that seat after leaving the dealership. The defective seat cushion frame and its internal components remain in the vehicle and are fully available for inspection. The failure began intermittently and has now become a persistent issue. There are no prior warning lights; rather, the seatbelt warning chime and dashboard graphics activate and continuously flash/alarm while driving, falsely indicating the occupant is unbuckled when they are actually safely secured. This issue matches the parameters of Honda Service Bulletin 23-018 and the active NHTSA safety investigation into this model.

Lots of crackling noises via the audio system. Display reboots itself many times before it finally went BLANK. Radio / DVD DEAD. Blind Spot warnings DEAD. Back up camera DEAD. Navigation DEAD. Eventually the battery goes DEAD and the car will not start. Got Stranded a few times. Changed the battery. But hopeless and reliability is DEAD. Definitely disappointed with HONDA.

Insurance company has seen car, and is replacing glass, I am calling the Honda dealership to let them know what happened.

With auto stop enabled, was the first car at a stop light. What happens next may be out of order - apologies. Light turned green and I pressed the gas and car shut off. I went to restart the car and a dashboard notification appeared saying to put car in N ? So I did and pressed gas again that did not work. Could not put car in park - cars were honking behind me and it was pouring rain so visibility was not easy. I don’t remember the next steps as I was frustrated yet somehow I pushed enough buttons that I was able to push the brake and start button enough times that the car blessfully restarted. I disengaged the auto idle button at that point and my car returned to my house sluggishly. It was as if the car could not shift into gears properly. Car has been not hitting gears properly and has turned off at auto stop over a dozen times more. Honda service states they cannot duplicate so cannot resolve.

Vehicle flashing warning signs for multiple system functions including battery and mechanical, forcing driver to pull over, unable to put vehicle in neutral to tow. Took vehicle to Honda dealership in Phoenix, AZ dealership unable to recreate issue. Stated it was cleared as a certified used Honda. Continued to have reoccurring issues, less than 2 months later vehicle engine completely seized. Honda refused to take responsibility for engine failure despite documented recurring issues with this make and model.

Digital speedometer stop working. It won’t display. It has happened before, and it’s happening again. This is dangerous to my driving as I have no idea how fast I’m driving when there is no display of my speed. I read from Honda Pilot community there are many others Honda Pilot owners have this same issue. This should be safety recall as it’s driving safety issue. Thank you for looking into my concerns.

STEERING
Bought brand new, I am at almost 68,000 miles. I have had vibration, rattling, etc near the front left of the car. After inspections and diagnostics. They said I need a new steering rack. It seems pre-mature to need a steering rack. No damage or high impact things have happened. Please investigate this issue to see if it could be manufacturing issue. Thank you!
