Passenger got out of front passenger side door and the door bounced back and gashed his right calf, resulting in significant bleeding and requiring 9 stitches. The door can be inspected if needed, but this is a design issue, not an issue specific to my vehicle. I have looked at the other front door and another Honda of this model type and it has the same issue, a metal edge. This issue appears numerous times on Piloteers.org (Front Doors, Lower Edges). I contacted Honda and reported the incident with a request for a quick repair and medical costs for the injured passenger. I filed the report 10 days ago and followed up with Honda several times with a request to have the case expediated, but have yet to hear back from Honda. I am worried that another passenger or the driver could be similarly injured.

- #11687343September 15, 2025STEERING:LINKAGES:TIE ROD ASSEMBLY, STEERING
The contact owns a 2025 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while her husband was driving 5 MPH and making a left turn, the power steering assist failed without warning. The driver attempted to complete the turn; however, excessive force was needed to steer the vehicle while the vehicle was drifting into oncoming traffic. The driver was able to steer the vehicle off to the shoulder of the road, and the vehicle was towed to the dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed with a defective inner tie rod and inner tie rod alignment. There were no recalls or warranties on the vehicle for the failure. The contact was provided with an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000.

At specific locations, the vehicle infotainment display will disconnect from a paired phone, causing the driver to lose GPS and phone based audio. This is distracting because you tend to look at the radio to see what the issue is. The unit automatically reconnects within ~60 seconds, however during that time the display instructs you to connect via a cable, which is distracting while driving. Additionally, connecting a cable does not solve the issue. I have attempted to connect my phone via a USB cable before the reset occurs, however when I pass these specific locations, the reset still occurs. The issue is repeatable and occurs at specific geographic locations, suggesting there are RF emissions in that location that cause Electro-magnetic Interference. The radio system that Honda uses appears to have a susceptibility to radiated emissions.

When using Apple CarPlay (wired or wireless), audio intermittently skips and stutters like a skipping CD or static AM radio. This only occurs on CarPlay, not Bluetooth. The skipping can make navigation prompts and hands-free calls unintelligible. Bluetooth audio works fine. Concern: The infotainment/head unit system may be part of the known MOST bus / FAKRA connector issue documented in Honda TSB A20-058 (which covers 2019-21 Pilot/Passport). Although my VIN shows no recalls, the behavior suggests a communication defect in the infotainment system. Safety relevance: This impacts driver attention and safety, since distorted CarPlay audio interferes with navigation directions, voice calls, and Siri prompts. It forces the driver to look down at the phone more frequently, which increases distraction.

The camera on the windshield fails when then the windshield gets too hot when you are driving and causes the safety systems to stop functioning ( lane assist, blind spot, etc). See attached pictures. This is a major design flaw and Honda should recall and replace the cameras on all 2022 Honda pilots. I live in the desert in El Paso, Texas and this happens when you are driving . See my attached pictures that occurred at 83 degrees and 93 degrees, respectively. Please help me before there is a fatal injury.

When trying to drive my vehicle i noticed the steering wheel became hard to turn. I was able to get a tow truck to drop my vehicle off at the dealership to get it looked at. The dealership is telling me that it is due to a steering problem needing a rack and pinion part. This vehicle is a 2023 Honda Pilot which was just purchased by me in April. There hasnt been any issue until now.

The contact owns a 2022 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the instrument cluster failed to function as intended. The contact stated that the instrument cluster displayed a black screen, and no safety features were displayed. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. In addition, the contact noticed an unusual popping sound. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The independent mechanic unofficially diagnosed the failure as faulty cables. The contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The contact was advised to bring the vehicle in for diagnostic testing and provided the fee for the diagnostic test. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact was informed that the repair was not covered under warranty. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The contact referenced an unknown recall which had a similar failure description; however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The contact was informed that the repair was not covered under a recall or special program. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

- #11685836September 8, 2025SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
The vehicle intermittently thinks it is about to be involved with a collision. It illuminates the brake warning lights and slams on the brakes on its own and brings the car to a complete stop. We almost got rear ended by a semi truck the first time this happened and we were on a highway. Traffic had to take evasive action to prevent an accident. Honda is aware of this issue and admits their is a problem and has informed us their is no fix for it yet. Honda case # [XXX] and Joel is our point of contact at the Honda outreach program. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) The vehicle is unsafe to drive and is going to get us hurt or killed or others as well. The vehicle has only 1,700 miles on it and is brand new. The last incident timeframe is listed below but it has happened quite a few times with no traffic present and clear roads.

Sunroof exploded while driving at a normal rate of speed with no cars surrounding us. Upon inspection, there was no debris within the roof hold that would denote a rock or something causing incident. We jumped a lane but no cars were around. All occupants were safe.

This vehicle shut down while driving. Initially it would not restart. When it did restart all the indicator lights were on in the dash. I got to a safe location and I shut it off. I opened and closed the driver's door. When I turned it back on it was back to normal. I had it towed to the dealer because I was concerned about driving it. They found nothing wrong. I am concerned about driving this vehicle anywhere. I feel it will happen again. It's just a matter of time.

- #11685478September 6, 2025ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, STEERING, POWER TRAIN
After driving over a railroad crossing, all driver safety systems disabled, brake system error, AWD torque distribution stopped and stated only FWD worked, and power steering stopped working. Was unable to manuever vehicle and had to ease vehicle over. Was able to stop the vehicle and shut it off. Restarted vehicle and power steering came back but other lights remained. Another few minutes went by and systems all returned to normal. This issue caused driver to lose all control of vehicle and thankfully didn't crash since vehicle was only traveling roughly 20 mph. If this happened at highway speed, there would be no way to safely stop the vehicle.

Steering wheel "clicks" at low-speed turns. This began at 1,500 miles. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership three times for a repair and the clicking returns each time approximately one week after the repair. Concerned that the steering wheel will lose connection with the steering column.

- #11684805September 3, 2025ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
I have two issues. First issue is the car will hit an intermediately not start once shut off and will take a few times of making sure the car is completely shut off opening your doors letting it power down before being able to restart. The next issue is the forward collision notification will randomly beep at every car that goes by specifically white cars. And also the adaptive cruise control brakes a little bit harder than expected.

- #11684488September 2, 2025TIRES:SIDEWALL
There are two occurances 1-8/2/2025 While traveling down highway 69 over I40, at 75 MPH, the right rear tire blew. It was not a slow release, but rather a boom and then all kinds of noise. The car was hard to control but there was no accident. Had it been a front tire....The sidewall blew out. If I had run over something, my wife or I should have seen it and they tear would be in the other direction. I replaced two tires at that point. 2-8/25/2025 While in Florida, 1000 miles from home, I noticed I had a low left rear (driver) tire. I got some air to last overnight and parked the car. The next morning I drove to a tire shop. They pull the wheel off and let the air out of the tire. When they used the machine to break the bead lose, the whole flat square metal piece pushed through the sidewall of the tire. I have pictures of both tires. The tire are actually a Hankook DynaPro HP2 but was not listed. They are a 255/60R18 108H.

- #11684467September 2, 2025SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
While driving the car flashes a BRAKE warning on the dash and then automatically begins emergency style braking attempting to bring the car to a STOP, but this happens while driving at highway speeds which is dangerous for rear approaching traffic. This has happened before and the dealership could not reproduce the action. This is the third time it has happened.
