- #11592707June 5, 2024UNKNOWN OR OTHER, BACK OVER PREVENTION: REARVIEW SYSTEM BRAKING
The 2019 Honda Pilot is receiving a Camera System Failure regarding the rear camera. The info screen shows a black screen where once the rear camera image was. I am putting myself, pedestrians, and other motorists at risk by not being able to have a clear view when driving the car in reverse. The Honda dealership confirmed the problem, telling me I needed to replace the camera and that this issue was NOT part of the current recall for this car regarding the rear camera. It has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others regarding my specific vehicle. There was no warning or anything prior to the camera system failing. It worked fine one day, then did not work again the next.

VSA modulator failed at approximately 69,000 miles. Safety features were inoperable putting my family at risk. Dash said to contact a dealership and to not drive the vehicle. The dealer informed us that the car was safe to drive as long as it wasn't making any funny noises. I paid the dealer to replace the VSA modulator per their diagnosis but then upon the car being returned to my possession, I was informed all the alarms are present on the car again. The dealer is instructing that I now need to replace the forward camera / radar sensor.

My Honda Pilot 2025 vehicle's windshield cracked while driving on the interstate. The crack is on the driver side of the windshield, about 6 inches from the top.The crack begins as a single straight line before branching out into another curving line in the letter "L" shape. A passing vehicle kicked up rock or debris, which formed the crack. There was no collision or major impact on the vehicle. The vehicle was inspected by the manufacturer, but they were unable to assist me in any way because they did not have any windshields available or would be created in the near future for this vehicle. Recognizing the signs of poor-quality windshield, I believe the windshield quality was compromised to its structural integrity. I see it as very major issue in terms of the safety of the driver and passengers.

My vehicle started experiencing issues with hesitation when driving it on the freeway as if it was placed into Neutral when accelerating. As instructed by my Service Bulletin Number 24-010 letter, I needed to take my vehicle to the dealership. I took my vehicle to the Hendrick Honda dealership located at 14201 Richmond Hwy Woodbridge, VA 2219. They are trying to tell me that the recall is an extended warranty and they won't do anything unless the fuel pump goes out or they do a diagnostic that gives them a code that says there is an issue with the fuel pump module. The letter clearly states this is a recall and NOT an extended warranty issue. This incident occurred on [XXX] 2024. I want to make this response known to you guys because if I am being told this others are too. This recall is a safety issue, which can cause our vehicle to lose complete power! If I am experiencing issues as stated with this vehicle this is a concern. I won't be taking my vehicle back to that location, but I want to make sure that this issue is clarified and that their response is being addressed. Thank you for your time. My vehicle started making unusual noise when moving, noise appears like something is wrong with the tires, it sounds like there is a bubble in tire but there is none and this noise is audible inside while driving. We first noticed it when we took a trip to Kansas city few weeks ago and at that time my vehicle odometer was about 31600 miles only, Also to add to that when brakes are applied vehicle is not slowing down consistently, it will be like breaks are applied and release and applied and released. We believe that there is manufacturing defects with the parts as we have not abused our vehicle in any way and if we are right similar issues should surface with others vehicles as well.

The automatic start/stop feature has caused several stalls at intersections. It has taken repeated efforts to restart the vehicle, once resulting in a near miss situation. What is especially worrying is that my [XXX] driver was behind the wheel during one instance. In the past 48 hours, it has happened three times. We continue to experience stalling while driving our Honda Pilot exactly as described in the Recall. We took our vehicle to Honda, but because they were unable to duplicate our problem and this problem does not generate an error code, they sent us home without any repair. Honda has said they have limited parts to make the replacement, so they are holding parts at their HQ and not allocating any to dealers. So, we, like most other Honda Pilot owners, continue to have to drive vehicles that may be unsafe. When driving in traffic, our vehicle has lost power for several seconds, which can be dangerous if we are in a passing mode or needing power to maneuver safely. We ask the Traffic Safety Administration to engage with Honda to accelerate their processes to effect required repairs before we or others are injured. Thank you.
