I copied the following from another complaint, as it describes the problem perfectly: My windshield wipers are ineffective. The liquid cleaner does not spray until the wipers are pointing out, thus causing the liquid spray to roll off the car and NOT clean the spots in the driver's field of vision. The miniscule amount of liquid left on the wipers simply smears the debris on the windshield resulting in a driving hazard

Sticky steering/stiffness in steering. Steering sticks in place and then when forced the car jerks quickly to either side. This has put my family and others at risk as it is hard to control the steering and causes sudden movements from side to side. No warning lamps or messages appear on the dash. The Honda dealer inspected the vehicle and determined the vehicle has an internal failure to steering rack and will require replacement. Replacement cost is $4,204.17. The vehicle is one year out of warranty. The large Honda steering recall is for model years 2022 and newer. Honda would not cover this repair under the current recall and will only do so if the recall is extended. I called American Honda to see if they would offer any goodwill and after their internal review they decided against any goodwill unless the recall is expanded as the vehicle is out of warranty. This is our first and last Honda. We will share our experience with our friends and neighbors - Honda seems to not understand what customer service means but they do know how to lose current and future customers.

Sticky steering wheel issue like the recent recall on newer Hondas. This 2020 has about 50k and has recently been flashing the EPS / Steering Wheel light when it occurs. After slowing down the vehicle "behaves" normal

My car’s warning lights simultaneously come on. After a couple of weeks, they will go off and then once again come on. This has been happening for over a year now. Today I tried to drive and the car shook but would not accelerate. Once I turned it off and back on, the lights were still on but it did go forward. I have noticed many recalls for the Honda CRV but my VIN is not listed in the recall. It seems to me based on the other recalls, mine should be recalled as well. I have only 54,000 miles on my CRV.

High pressure fuel pump failed , could smell gas in air vents. Honda claims it’s separate from its other recall for a fuel pump. Car had been working fine, sudden issue, all lights came on , car started to stutter on acceleration. Had to be towed. No issues prior.

The contact owns a 2024 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while attempting to park while the vehicle was in drive (D), she collided with bushes, and while she depressed the accelerator pedal, the gears inadvertently changed from drive (D) to reverse (R), causing the vehicle to reverse at a high speed. The brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle did not slow down as intended. The vehicle continued to accelerate in reverse, crossed a roadway, went down a slight incline, and the rear of the vehicle collided with a tree, stopping the vehicle. The contact did not sustain any injuries. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to a body shop, where the physical damage would be assessed and repaired. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

Title: Engine Defect – Excessive Oil Consumption and VTC Actuator Failure My 2016 Honda CR-V (purchased from Mohawk Honda, serviced at Rensselaer Honda) developed a serious engine defect after only about 25,000 miles. The vehicle began consuming excessive oil, and later the VTC actuator failed, causing severe loss of power during acceleration and uphill driving, creating unsafe conditions. Dealership confirmed: •Excessive oil consumption from stuck piston rings. •White smoke due to oil burning. •VTC actuator and timing damage. •EPR cleaning service failed to fix the issue. Despite evidence of a manufacturing defect, Honda denied goodwill assistance. The dealership also gave unsafe instructions (drive 1,000 miles with low oil), which worsened the damage. This defect causes loss of power while driving, which is a serious safety hazard. I request NHTSA investigate Honda’s handling of piston ring and VTC defects. The sunroof completely shattered with no impact of an object while driving on the freeway. This but myself and my children at risk for harm had i had the sunroof visor open. Glass would have hit myself while driving and my baby while she was in the back seat. I am currently in the process of this being inspected. There were no warning signs or lights that came on.

When the car is hot, (warmed up and the temp the ambient temp is over 80 degrees F) the electrical power steering "sticks" while highway driving and makes it difficult to steer the vehicle. We took it to a local Honda dealer who has indicated that they find nothing wrong with the steering but there is definitely something not right. We have noticed that other 2018 Honda CR-Vs have had power steering recalls, but ours is not indicated on the list. We are wondering if this is simply not something that has been discovered for our vehicle VIN yet. Hoping for some kind of resolution that assists in getting problem properly addressed issue has been occurring for about 2 months now. Issue is ongoing.

VTC rattles on startup. Please email me at [XXX] so we can start another lawsuit against Honda. This is a known problem that everyone from honda to your backyard mechanic are aware of. I used to love Honda. I even paid extra to get this specific Honda CRV. Kind of feel like a fool now. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

- #11681375August 18, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
I was driving at 10am today on a local road, about 35mph, with no car in front of me, nor behind me. I was the only car in the area. Suddenly both the automatic emergency braking (AEB) system and the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) were activated. I was concerned when it happened, not knowing if the car would come to a stop. I called my local Honda Dealer Service Department, asking if they could check it out. He said they could take it for a test drive to see if it would happen again. Since this was the only time it happened we agreed to wait to see if it happens again before bringing it in. Once home I searched the NHTSA database and discovered similar instances, and an open Investigation, EA24002. I wanted to be sure to add my incident to the others to help in finding a resolution.

Ever since we purchased the vehicle in 2021, it it has made a loud screeching noise when backing up in humid weather or after rain. Whenever we brought it to the dealer's attention, we were told Honda National is aware of the issue and working on a solution. After 3 years of hearing the same thing, we wrote a letter to Honda National and filed a complaint with the NYS Attorney Generals Office. The Attorney General sent our complaint on to Honda for response. See attached documents for the history.

As I were driving down the interstate at 50 mph, I'd heard a loud POP, the sunroof exploded into a million tiny pieces of glass. When we got home, I started doing some Internet searching and found that shattering sunroofs was a longstanding problem with Honda vehicles especially, basically all vehicles with sunroofs. From some posts I was reading, I saw that many dealers were refusing to accept these as a warranty claim and some insurance companies were calling these experiences an "act of God" and refusing to pay claims. I saw at least one class action lawsuit against Honda for shattering sunroofs. I went to my dealer (where I had purchased the vehicle) all prepared to have a discussion with them about liability, but I was pleasantly surprised and angry when they said the broken glass would not be replaced under warranty. This was a brand new 2025 Honda CRV purchased with 7 miles at the time of purchased. I had to go through my insurance agency for repairs because this was not covered under Honda Dealership Warranty which I'd had purchased. Total Repairs for Parts and Labor was around 611.74. This is a major safety issue for all drivers.

- #11681041August 16, 2025SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
On 8/14, As I was pulling away from a gas pump and into a parking space (going 5 mph or less), the automatic braking system alarms went off, and the brakes applied, causing the car to seize up completely. My foot was already on the brake and I was at least 5 feet away from the barrier at the end of the parking spot. In addition to this experience, the emergency braking alarms tend to go off in unexpected/unneeded situations, such as when I'm coasting to a red light with my foot already on the brake. And it does NOT go off in other situations where I would expect it, such as when a car stops short in front of me. These situations happen approximately once every two months or so. The automatic/emergency braking is unreliable, unpredictable and when it engages unnecessarily, could be dangerous.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal fuel odor inside the vehicle. The contact drove the vehicle to the shoulder of the road and performed an inspection of the vehicle. Upon inspecting the vehicle, the hood was opened, and the contact noticed fuel spilling out of a detached fuel feed hose. The contact stated that it was a frightening feeling, and that the failure could have caused the vehicle to catch on fire. The contact patched and replaced the hose. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the fuel feed hose needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 21,000.

We kept Honda CRV EXL 2017 on time repair by the Honda dealership ,never missed one deadline of repair as recommended by the Honda repair shop. Now they are saying that head gasket is blown and engine has jammed. How can head gasket go bad randomly when maintenance was done regularly by the Honda dealer, who is fault it is ? Who should be paying for its repair?
