- rack and pinion steering has developed 'sticky steering' problem - steering resistance has created steering difficulty and dangerous driving situation - problem has been confirmed by a dealer and estimate for repair over $5,000 - component has not been inspected by manufacturer, wish they would. - no warning lights prior to failure. Steering my Honda CRV 2017 has become difficult and the 'sticky steering' symptoms have also been experienced by other CRV owners as expressed on line. This vehicle has become dangerous to drive

My vehicle braked hard on its own as I approached a metal pot hole cover in the street. It also flashes a BRAKE warning when I cross over shadows, such as from an overpass.

To Whom It May Concern: I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a serious and recurring safety defect in my 2018 Honda CR-V EX, VIN# [XXX] . I have experienced at least four incidents within the last two months involving both sudden, unintended braking and intermittent steering lock-ups. These are not isolated events and pose a significant risk to the safety of myself and other motorists. The sudden braking issue, often referred to as "phantom braking," occurs when the vehicle's Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) activates without any obstacle or danger present. The car abruptly comes to a full stop, without warning, on a clear road. This is extremely dangerous and has nearly caused multiple rear-end collisions. In addition to the braking problem, the steering has also become intermittently stuck. This happens without warning and makes it difficult to turn the wheel, which could lead to a loss of control, especially at higher speeds or on curves. I have already reported these issues to two authorized Honda dealerships: Curry Honda in Atlanta, Georgia Honda AutoNation in Columbus, Georgia On each occasion, the dealerships have been unable to replicate the problem and have told me they cannot find anything wrong. Despite their inability to diagnose the issue, the problems are very real and continue to happen. These defects are not just an inconvenience; they are serious safety hazards that could lead to a crash. I am concerned that if this problem is happening to my vehicle, it may be affecting other 2018 Honda CR-V owners as well. I urge the NHTSA to investigate this matter thoroughly to prevent potential accidents and injuries. Please contact me if you require any additional information. Thank you for your attention to this critical matter. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Steering keeps sticking while cruising down the highway, which is a problem but supposedly not on my vin number. Manufacturer claims it’s a problem just not on mine. This happens constantly not on specific date below.

The front windshield on my vehicle was cracked on four different occassions. Three times when a small stone/gravel hit the winshield while driving. And once while parked outside. My safety was at risk because while driving i was startled when the object hit the windshield and i immediately focused my eyes on the damage when my attention should have been keeping my eyes on the road at all times. Each time i filed a claim with my insurance company. In my opinion i believe the glass does not meet or nearly meet industry standards. Further, I'm retired and do not drive my vehicle every day or long distances. Also, the cracked windshields were replaced with Honda windshields. Finally, i fail to believe I am that unlucky to have had my windshield replaced four times within six years.

Dealer says fuel injectors failed and needs replacing, research shows this is a common issue for the. 2017 crv Honda edition. Mpg never dropped , remained. 33.1. When codes cleared, car functions like normal.

This issue is the vertical door trim panels directly adjacent to the windows on all four door of the vehicle. Since purchasing this vehicle in 2024 we have had to have this/these door trim panels on the drivers side replaced three times due to the sun melting the panels. Honda service is well aware of the problem, the problem is also on the internet. I have complained and filed a formal complaint with Honda asking that the vehicle be replaced, this is still pending by Honda. I believe there to be several issues of concern with this. These trims panels are very thin, if the panels degraded condition is not addressed will it come free from the vehicle and possibly fly into an open back window into the face/throat of a passenger at 55 mph or greater? Will the panel come free and be propelled into another vehicle traveling behind me? Will another driver lose control over this issue? I believe there to be enough sharp edges/surfaces on this panel to cause serious bodily harm at 55mph or greater. Honda, the internet (media) are all well aware of this issue, yet Honda just keeps replacing the sun melted panels with another panel that eventually melt. I have had to take the time to drop off the vehicle, pick up my wife (owner) then take her back to pick up the vehicle. When the standard warranty expires what then? These panels are obviously defective in design, why has Honda not redesigned the part to withstand sunlight/heat so that this stops happening? Considering the amount of these vehicles on the road today I cannot understand why this is not properly addressed. I have an open case with Honda over this issue, I requested that the vehicle be replaced (brand new vehicle with a never ending defect/safety issue). My case number with Honda is 15594160. Please help with this (corrective engineering on replacement part) I am receiving the obligatory corporate response from Honda and I think this issue warrants more authority/stance then I have. The backup camera on my 2024 honda CRV switches to black and white in hot weather. Depending on how hot, it may either stay black and white or rapidly switch back and forth. Not only is this a distraction while backing up but the washed out black and white image makes it much harder to differentiate between the roadway and objects in it. The issue has been confirmed by my local dealership and they told me replacing parts does not fix the issue. There is no known fix at this time. I switch to relying entirely on my mirrors when this happens but this does reduce overall visibility, especially for small objects and children.

Re; Honda CR-V Ex-LVIN: [XXX] Purchased [XXX],From Auto Nation Honda, Dulles, VA I have noticed an issue with the windshield wipers and the timing of the water disbursement, where more than half of the windshield, on the right side, does not get water. When operating, the blades start moving from right to left. The right blade passes by about 55% of the glass before the water begins to disperse. The left blade moves to the edge of the glass, and the water is disbursed for the last 2 or 3 inches of the glass and providing no help for the rest of the windshield. This is a Major Safety Issue, especially during the winter months with snow, salt or sand on the road and other cars spraying all that on my windshield while more than half of the windshield is not receiving water to help clean it. I understand this system is fairly new on some models, and I am sure other buyers may have experienced the same issue. I was driving to work and all of the lights on my dash came on and the vehicle would not go over 15 mph. I had semis passing me trying to get my car back home. I had it towed to the nearest Honda dealership where all of my Hondas are repaired, John Hinderer in Heath, OH. They received the vehicle and called me to tell me that it was the high pressure fuel pump that was not working. I inquired if it would be covered under warranty and told me due to the age of the vehicle it was not under warranty, any longer even the the miles were very low. The vehicle is a 2016 but only has 32,170 miles on it. So, I asked how that could happen with a vehicle with so little miles, he did have an answer. He quoted me $1,800.00 to fix it, telling me that the part alone was $1,200.00. After I got off the phone with him I researched the part and found it on Honda's corporate website for $559.43. I sent him a text message showing the price that I found it for and sent a message to the dealership on line. I have yet to hear from them, but they still have my vehicle. I did a little more research this morning and found that certain 2016 CRVs have a recall for the Fuel Pump Module. It is NHTSA Recall Number 23v-858, but my VIN # is not listed with a recall. I believe that my Vehicle should be included in this recall. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

We have been trying to get our recall serviced for over 18 months. The dealer continues to tell us the parts need to be special ordered and they will call us back. However they never call us back. We have called Honda directly and have not received any help from them either.

Driving along a city road, and the CMBS (Collision Mitigation Braking System) engaged. The brakes were slammed on, out of nowhere for no good reason. The closest car in front was several car lengths away, but there was a car closely following behind. That car (and the car behind it) had to brake hard to avoid collision. No injuries occurred in our vehicle. We were, however, pretty fucking scared and pissed.

Was driving my 2012 Honda CRV home from the store when the AWD light came on. By the time I got it home another light came on EPS. When I got out I noticed the drivers side rear tire looked tilted. Upon further inspection I could see that the control arm had fallen down along with the whole trailing arm from rust. After investigating I learned that there was a recall for this exact thing but only for 2007-2011 models. I called Honda and they told me to get it to a Honda dealership for diagnosis report so I haf it towed there. They said that if ut were the same issue as the recall that they could make an exception after a case manager reviewed everything. The Honda dealership documented that the rust on the underrails of the frame were critical for the overall integrity and safety of the car and that the control arms were rusted and broken through. When I sent everything to Honda, they said that since my vin was not part of the recall there was nothing they would do for me. There are many more complaints regarding this exact issue for the 2012 models and something needs done before lives are lost. My daughter and I were leaving for a trip the next morning and had I not decided to take my car to the store the night before we would have been on the interstate when the trailing arm and control arm broke and fell which would have been catastrophic while driving at interstate speed, from what I understand. I have only had my 2012 Honda CRV for 3 months and it only has 120k miles on it. These models need a recall ASAP as they are extremely dangerous!

At around 88,400 miles my Enging light came on saying I had an "Emissions Problem." Shortly after the Emissions problem was being signaled, several other lights came on including, ABS problem, Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, Electronic Break problem and several others. I took my car to a Honda dealership's service shop to have a dianostics test run. According the the report the "check found code P0172 fuel systtem too rich." "Performed A/F test, CYL,1,2,3 Failed too rich." And they recommended replacing the injectors and I opted to have it done by them. When asked if that seemed ealrier for fuel injectors to go, the service rep said yes that they typically last the life of the egine.
