My car has had trouble starting when sitting for long periods of time or in moderate heat. I've also noticed the gas per mile has decreased. The 2017 year of my car has a recall for the fuel pump. Mine is just one year earlier but my mechanic says it could also be the fuel pump. I have less than 80K miles on the car and I've seen that on the 2017-2022 years with the recall, this problem happens around the 75K-80K mile mark on the car. I think my 2016 should also be recalled for the fuel pump.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. I am writing to express a serious safety concern regarding my Honda CR-V. I recently learned that Honda has recalled millions of vehicles due to a sticky steering issue, and while my specific vehicle is not listed in the current recall, I am experiencing similar symptoms. Most notably, I recently encountered a frightening incident in which the steering in my vehicle felt unusually resistant or "sticky." As I attempted to correct my course on the highway, the lack of smooth steering response caused me to oversteer into the shoulder, putting myself and others at risk. Thankfully, I was able to regain control, but this could have resulted in a serious accident. In addition to the stiffness, I have also noticed a clicking noise when turning the wheel, which seems to accompany or precede the sticky sensation. Given the known recall for this issue in other Honda vehicles, I strongly urge you to investigate whether this problem might extend beyond the current recall list. My concern is that other affected vehicles, including mine, may have been missed. I would appreciate it if a representative could assist me with this. This is clearly a serious safety concern, and I believe it deserves your immediate attention. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to your response.

The driver side mirror vibrates, especially at highway speeds. It creates a distorted view. The dealership has replaced the glass. It did not remedy the issue. I took it in a second time and they replaced the entire mirror assembly. Still did not fix it. I took it in the third time and they said it is just a characteristic of this generation of CRV’s. It seems that Honda does not have a way to remedy the vibrating mirror problem. I find it very distracting while driving and it could potentially be a safety issue down the road with the distorted rear view.

Level for oil change was at 30%, took it in and it only had 2.5 quarts of oil. No indication I was low, no oil leak, and it affected the valves. Honda of Lisle said this is common issue with 4 cylinder models, yet there is no recall. Now I have to check my oil every week and add as needed, and will have an large bill to replace the engine. The vehicle has only 61,000 miles.

All my idiot lights appeared on my dashboard. My mechanic plugged in and nothing came up so I took it to White Plains Honda on Aug.5. They called me on Aug.14 and said my brake booster was bad. They said that they worked on trying to find the problem 12 hours. So with the diagnosis and part and labor, my cost is $5447+ tax. So I called Honda North America, got a case number. On Aug 26 Honda NA said that they can’t help me. My car is at Honda CRV Sport Hybrid 2023 with 47,440 miles on it. I’m over the 3 year or 36,000 miles and I do not have an extended warranty. Also on Aug 22, my service advisor said he could get the price down to $5,000. + tax. So I am lost on what to do

Subject: Vehicle Theft Due to Security Vulnerability – 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid Vehicle Information: • Make: Honda • Model: CR-V Hybrid AWD • Year: 2023 Description of the Problem: I am reporting a serious security vulnerability in my 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid, which was stolen [XXX] from a residential parking lot in Bayside Queens, NY. The theft occurred despite the vehicle being locked and parked in my parking area. The theft method likely involved bypassing the CAN bus system, a known vulnerability in modern vehicles. Honda later issued a product improvement notice regarding enhanced anti-theft software, which I received(8/26/25) after the incident. This suggests that the manufacturer was aware of the security flaw but did not proactively notify owners or offer preventive upgrades before thefts occurred. Will Impact: • Financial loss due to theft and insurance deductibles • Emotional distress and ongoing safety concerns • Time-consuming police and insurance procedures • Lack of timely manufacturer support or warning • Police report (NYPD case number: [XXX]) I urge NHTSA to investigate the security vulnerabilities in Honda CR-V Hybrid models, particularly regarding CAN bus access and lack of proactive anti-theft measures. I also request that Honda be required to issue formal recalls or mandatory software updates to prevent further thefts asap. - #11683650August 28, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
Driving at 60mph. No car in front, behind or to the side. Out of the blue slammed on brake fully. My foot was on the gas the whole time. Slowed rapidly to 20mph before I could continue on. If someone had been behind me they would have hit me. I'm now frightened of my own car. Took it to the dealer service department and they said that it's very sensitive and that even an empty plastic grocery bag blowing around could set it off.

- #11683433August 27, 2025SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
This braking issue happened on 4 occasions. While in stop and go traffic I would be braking, nursing the brakes the car would take over and slam me to a complete stop. It would not go again until I hit the gas. On two of those occasions the car behind me had to move into the nxt lane or over to the shoulder. The last time the seatbelt caught me so hard I had shoulder and neck pain for about 3 weeks (I work in rehab so my co workers worked on my neck and shoulders)I did take it to Honda after the first two incidences and they said there was nothing wrong, that’s just how the sensors are. I asked if the sensors could be turned off and they replied No. After the last incident where my shoulder and neck got hurt and the poor guy behind me almost hit the wall on the shoulder, I went the next day and traded it in. I lost my 5K that I put down and the car depreciated by several thousand in 4mos but it was not worth driving it and ending up in a major accident with major injuries to myself or another driver.

- #11683383August 27, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The contact owns a 2026 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving 45 MPH with the Forward Collision Avoidance: Adaptive Cruise Control feature activated, the vehicle independently decelerated unintendedly. The vehicle resumed normal driving operation immediately after the failure. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where the contact alerted a service technician that the Forward Collision Avoidance: Adaptive Cruise Control failure was an issue with the Apple CarPlay feature. The service technician acknowledged that the Apple CarPlay feature was a known issue and linked the adaptive cruise failure with that same defect. The service technician reset the software to the original factory settings to correct the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and acknowledged that the Apple CarPlay failure was a known issue. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 200.
