SummarySome 2023 Escape vehicles equipped with 1.5L engines may exhibit an Engine Coolant Over-Temperature Warning message displayed in the instrumental panel cluster (IPC) and an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P1285 and/or P1299 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) during hard acceleration or under high load conditions. Ford is aware of the concern and this condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected in Q1 of 2024. Replacement of the cylinder head temperature (CHT) sensor may not resolve this condition. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available.

SummarySome 2021-2023 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 4 may exhibit the navigation feature in the center display screen only displaying imperial (feet and miles) units and not being able to change to metric (meters and kilometers) units. This may be due to the software level of the SYNC module (APIM). To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to update the APIM to the latest software level via a coordinated flash. NOTE: The APIM software update that addresses the symptom listed in this article may have been sent via Ford Power-Up software updates delivered over-the-air (OTA) to connected vehicles that have automatic updates enabled through the center display screen. Enter the vehicle identification number (VIN) in Professional Technician System (PTS) and check the OTA Dashboard under the Connected Vehicle tab for OTA update history. If an update to the APIM has successfully completed recently and the customer is reporting the symptoms are no longer present, this article may not apply.

This issue does not affect the proper operation of the air bags, retractor and pretensioner. Refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-20A Seatbelt Systems > Removal and Installation. For claiming, use causal part 78611B08 and applicable labor times in Section 12 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

SummarySome 2020-2023 Escape/Corsair vehicles may exhibit a condition where the vehicle drifts left and right within the vehicle's lane while the lane keeping assist is active. The lane keeping aid assists the driver by providing steering torque to help the driver keep the vehicle in the lane when it detects unintentional drifting toward the outside of the lane. Additionally, adaptive cruise control with lane centering provides constant steering torque to keep the vehicle centered in the lane while cruise control is engaged. These are operating characteristics of the lane keeping systems. Refer to the Owner's Manual for complete description of the operation of these systems. Do not attempt diagnosis or repairs or submit a claim for this condition. Inform the customer that the lane keeping system is only an aid, and their hands should stay on the steering wheel at all times while driving.

SummarySome 2023 Escape, Corsair, Bronco Sport and Maverick vehicles built on 01-May-2023 and through 22-Sep-2023 may exhibit a squeal and/or grinding noise and/or vibration from the front brakes while braking. This may be due to excessive wheel hub lateral runout. To correct this condition, remove the front brake disc(s) of the affected wheel(s). Refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section, 206-03. Clean the raised ring-like surface of the front wheel hub near the wheel studs. Using a dial indicator, slowly rotate the wheel hub and measure the runout on the ring-like surface. If the total runout exceeds 0.001 inch (0.03mm), replace the wheel hub. Refer to the WSM, Section 204-01. Document the measured run out in the warranty claim. For claiming use the causal part number 1104 and applicable labor operations in Section 01 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS)

SummarySome 2020-2023 Escape/Corsair vehicles may exhibit a door ajar warning indicator or higher than expected efforts to fully close doors. Verify the hood/liftgate are not open. Confirm all doors are fully closed and latches are fully engaged. Doors will not fully close when lightly letting go of the door or letting it swing closed from a short distance under its own weight. Push/pull effort must be applied to doors while closing to fully engage latch and turn off the ajar signal warning. If doors are still not fully latching closed, manually adjust door striker position to allow for proper alignment and engagement to the door latch. The door hang position may also need to be slightly adjusted to achieve the same effect. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-03.
