ENGINE
Check engine light came on 5/22/25 sitting idle when I went on lunch at 1:00 pm. I left work and came home at 5:00 pm and made it home safely not sure what the failure is yet I will call the dealer in the morning. Car only has 28,000 miles on it and should not already be having engine issues. Also has dramatic drop in gas mileage.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
The contact owned a 2025 Chevrolet Trax. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH with cruise control mode disengaged, and approaching the red traffic light, the brake pedal was depressed. The contact stated that the vehicle responded temporarily, and then the vehicle accelerated unintendedly. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that he shifted to park(P) in the hope that the vehicle would stop, but the vehicle failed to stop and the engine revved louder, causing the vehicle to crash into two occupied vehicles in the intersection of a highway. The air bags deployed. It was unknown whether there was a warning light illuminated after the crash. The contact sustained injuries and the emergency units transported the contact to the hospital, where he underwent a CT scan. The contact was informed that he had sustained two broken ribs. The contact was hospitalized for two weeks, and the contact was admitted to a rehabilitation center for a week and a half. One of the other drivers sustained three broken ribs, but it was unknown whether the driver received medical assistance. No further information was available. The vehicle was towed and totaled. The two other vehicles were totaled. A police report was filed. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000.

ENGINE
My engine suffered catastrophic engine failure with less than 14,000 miles. I was travelling at highway speeds on a busy highway in rush hour. I heard what sounded like an explosion, lost all power, and had to steer across two lanes where I just made it onto the shoulder of the highway. The car was towed to the dealer who confirmed the catastrophic engine failure. There was absolutely no warning, no warning lights, no messages at all, I was driving and heard what sounded like an explosion and lost all power.

The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the instrument cluster display screen intermittently malfunctioned, displaying either a black or snowy screen. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked on the right side of the 2 vehicle garage when it suddenly caught fire after approximately 1 hour of being parked. A popping sound alerted the contact and her spouse to the fire. The garage was unfinished with a gravel floor and no outlets when it caught fire, and there was property damage. No warning lights illuminated. The fire department was called to the scene and was able to extinguish the fire. The fire department had put fire department was unable to determine the cause of the fire. The vehicle was towed and totaled due to the vehicle being consumed by the fire. There were no injuries or medical attention needed. The dealer was contacted and informed of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The manufacturer had sent personnel to take pictures of the fire and have the vehicle inspected. The manufacturer opened a case for the failure however, the case was closed due to the manufacturer not finding a defect for the failure. The failure mileage was 41,000.

Turbo Charger/Super charger is not following sufficient air. The vehicle does not excelerate, and slowed down in the middle of traffic. I had to turn the car off for 15 minuetes. Before i could drive home. Check engine light continues to disappear and reappear for the last 60 days. Diagnostic code P0299. GMC will not cover the cost under special coverage, known issues with 2017-2018 which GMC has special coverage.

I am unable to control my vehicle. Something in front end of vehicle pushes and pulls the vehicle from left to right without being able to regain control. Loud popping and clunking while turning..Braking has also been a majoir issue along with suspension/steering issues. I would greatly appreciate these things to be fixed immediately beings there has been a recall years ago and I was never notified!

The interior of this car includes many chrome accents. Chrome on the steering wheel, center console around the gear shift, and chrome around the touch screen. When driving, the sun reflects off of the chrome like a laser/mirror, impacting the visibility and safety of the driver. I am looking into ways to "black out" the chrome, but it truly is a safety hazard! Chevrolet should provide a "chrome delete" kit and keep chrome on the EXTERIOR, not on the INTERIOR.

In addition, the contact stated while driving to the dealer, the contact noticed smoke coming the exhaust pipe and there was misfire coming from the engine. The vehicle was towed to a second dealer; however, the vehicle had not been diagnosed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.

I am reporting a serious safety concern with my 2024 Chevrolet Trax, purchased on [XXX]. Within three weeks, I experienced a malfunction where the infotainment screen began glitching, and the audio volume surged to maximum without warning. I was unable to control the volume or turn off the system, forcing me to pull over and restart the vehicle to stop the distraction. This issue has recurred multiple times, creating a significant distraction and making me feel unsafe while driving. The loud, uncontrollable audio and erratic screen behavior divert my attention from the road, increasing the risk of an accident. I reported the problem to the dealership in June 2024. They acknowledged the issue but stated that no fix was available as GM had not developed the necessary software update. I was advised to wait for an update. Throughout the winter of 2025, the problem worsened. Despite repeated inquiries, the dealership informed me that no solution was available. In April 2025, I returned the vehicle to the dealership, but they still could not resolve the issue. The service manager recommended I report the problem to the NHTSA and contact GM customer service. I did so on April 11, 2025, and a case was opened. However, as of today, there is still no resolution. This ongoing problem is more than an inconvenience; it poses a safety risk by creating a distracting and uncontrollable environment while driving. On Oct 08, 2024 Milan Tire and Brake replace wiper motor part. Since then the wiper motor part only works for about 2 months . They replace it going on 3 times . Just went out yesterday again. On January 29, 2025 Milan tire and brake and Brake replace wiper transmission .

The contact owned a 2024 Chevrolet Trax. The contact stated that while his girlfriend was driving through an intersection at 20 MPH, another vehicle ran a red light and crashed into the vehicle, causing a T-bone impact. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The other driver was treated for an arm injury(arm unknown) by paramedics on the scene. The next morning, the contact's girlfriend went to a doctor, where she was treated for both back and neck pain. A police report was filed, and no property damage was reported. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was deemed a total loss. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle was destroyed. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST, STEERING, AIR BAGS
Was making right hand turn which causes vehicle to straddle shoulder for a brief period of time because of how lines are painted. Auto steering resisted the manual steering to get into the lane properly and pulled vehicle onto shoulder further which lead vehicle to be pulled into the ditch.
