2024 Jeep Wrangler Shifter Inoperative TSB 21-026-25

Owners of certain 2024 Jeep Wrangler vehicles may encounter issues with their transmission shifter becoming inoperative. Stellantis has released Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 21-026-25 REV. A to address this manufacturing concern. This bulletin provides guidance for technicians on how to diagnose and resolve the problem, which can prevent the vehicle from shifting out of Park or other selected gears.

This TSB, dated June 5, 2025, is a revision of an earlier bulletin, TSB 21-026-25, issued on March 20, 2025. It has also been released as Rapid Service Update (RSU) 25-041. All repairs performed under this TSB are reimbursable within the provisions of the vehicle's warranty.

Symptoms of an Inoperative Shifter

Owners may notice one or more of the following symptoms related to the 2024 Jeep Wrangler shifter inoperative condition:

• The vehicle can't be shifted out of Park or current selected gear.
• A message displayed on the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) states: "Service Shifter, Stop Safely, Shut Off Engine To Engage Park".

To determine if a vehicle is affected by this issue, technicians should check the vehicle's VIN in the VIP system or the RSU VIN list. If the VIN is listed, the repair procedure should be followed. If a vehicle is not on the VIN list but exhibits the described symptoms, the repair procedure should still be performed.

Repair Procedure Summary

The repair outlined in TSB 21-026-25 REV. A involves a two-step process for the 2024 Jeep Wrangler shifter inoperative problem:

1. Shifter Inspection: The technician will attempt to shift the transmission out of Park or its current selected gear. If the automatic shifter is able to shift, the bulletin is considered completed, and Labor Operation 21-01-03-94 (0.2 hours) for inspection is used to close the active RSU.
2. Shifter Replacement (if necessary): If the shifter cannot be moved out of Park or the selected gear, the transmission shifter will need to be replaced. Important Notes for Owners

Owners should be aware that if the driver seat belt is unbuckled and the driver door is opened, the auto park feature will engage. This is a normal safety function of the vehicle.
