This is a 5-speed manual transmission. When the car is stalled, upon restarting, the vehicle's power is significantly reduced. It becomes very dangerous to start from a stop, which is particularly concerning, as I bought this car for my 16-year old daughter.

2023 Nissan Versa S has manual transmission. Car will intermittently lose acceleration. When this problem starts, car is unable to go over 30mph in any gear and even with the accelerator pedal pushed to the floor. This has occurred 5 times so far. Sudden loss of speed creates a life threatening situation when driving on a highway and speeds of 65 mph are expected. The car will suddenly drop to 30mph or lower without any warning and will not accelerate. Problem is not fixed by restarting the engine. Car was taken to Premier Nissan of Fremont, California on 10/20/23. They reported: 2560 did not verify customer concern. Road tested with additional technician, drove vehicle in every gear from 1-5 5mph to 65 mph. Also down shifted from there and no hesitation or loss of power was felt. Vehicle moves fine in all gears. All ok at this time. Car was returned to me on 10/24/23. GPS locator on car indicates that car was always parked at dealership for the 4 days and not driven. I connected a OBD code reader to the car's port and it reports Camshaft Position Error but Premier Nissan of Fremont, California refused to take that input saying they did not want to influence their technician. After the "no-problem" diagnosis they stated that they do not see any history of issues on their NISSAN supplied OBD reader. Hence the car has no problem. I am fearful of driving it on the freeway and loosing acceleration which will result in me getting rear ended and killed!!!

This vehicle is a manual transmission model. If the engine is stalled on takeoff and has to be restarted it enters a low power condition where acceleration is severely reduced. The power loss is bad enough to make it impossible to keep up with traffic. Even maintaining speed while climbing hills is difficult. This is dangerous because moving much more slowly than surrounding traffic makes this car a collision risk. The low power condition continues until the vehicle is turned off and the key is removed. The MIL light has come on and the DTC is P2615. We have scheduled to take the vehicle for service tomorrow, but it hasn't been seen by a technician yet.

When I bought the car, I knew it was not going to be a fast car. After driving for a couple months, I would be going to turn left at an intersection, and it would be sluggish getting across. Eventually you could feel it kick into gear and take off. It now seems to be getting worse. A local mechanic said it had a code P17F4. They would not do touch it there. I took it to Greeley Nissan now and am awaiting a diagnosis.

On two separate occasions while driving at night two weeks apart, the car dash lights went out, power dropped real quickly, steering became hard. Barely got off overpass and road to safety. Turned the car off. Waited approximately 5 minutes and car restarted and was fine for two weeks. On second time had the car towed to Fred Haas Nissan. They could not reproduce problem and found no codes. Will have to chance driving until happens again. Very dangerous as I would have been hit if not for no traffic. In December 2022 had minor bumper collision. The collision sign had already been on for about three months. Now the sensor is damaged. However, no problems a year later until now. This is a new problem and hope to get it resolved. Very dangerous.

After I stalled the engine in a fast food drive through I restarted the car. When I went to take off the engine had no power and took a very long time to get up to speed throughout the gear selection. I was almost rear ended because of this. The car did not throw any check engine lights or dash codes. I got home and turned off the car. It sat for about 10 minutes then I test drove it around the block and it was fine.

This vehicle came with a 5-speed manual transmission. I am still learning how to drive a stick shift well, and on my way home from the dealer there were several instances of me stalling the engine due to letting the clutch out too fast. In several of these cases, when I restarted the engine, it acted almost as if it were in limp mode, or if the clutch was slipping badly.

I've owned this car less than a month and this has happened to me twice. I start to drive the car and experience a severe loss of power. The accelerator is pushed to the floor and the car barely moves. This happened when I was attempting to pass another vehicle. Could have had disastrous consequences. No indication on the dashboard that anything is wrong. If this happened while trying to merge onto a highway the results could be catastrophic.

2023 Versa occasionally loses power. Though the gas pedal is pressed to the floor, and despite downshifting, the car continues to lose power. This has happened about four times since car was purchased new in June 2023. Turning cart off and restarting may or may not interrupt the power loss. ~What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? We are not sure what is malfunctioning, and yes, it may be inspected upon request. ~How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Loss of power means others may hit our vehicle, not knowing we are losing power. We may not be able to move out of a dangerous traffic situation. ~Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Dealer appointment has been scheduled for almost three weeks after requested (long wait for potentially dangerous problem). ~Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. ~ Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Warning light came on one time, but went off before it could be read. On 13 Sep 2023 - WARNING MESSAGE read-out: P2615

2021 Nissan Versa S on Aug 26th 2023 driving back from NY heading toward Ma. when a Malfunction sign came up on the dashboard of the car. we pulled over trying to figure out what was happening and took a picture of the warning sign also the Break Assist showing something just happened. turned the car off and the driver turned the car back on. Continue driving. 20 miles down the road the Car brakes locked up the car skid a bit jerking driver and passenger forward. The driver stopped the car. A warning sign was on the dashboard showing a yellow square in front of a car and above two cars colliding. Monday I called the Nissan dealership and explained it and how that is very dangerous and a safety issue. lady said yes it is and we need to get you right in and said she was going to connect me with the Service Manger. after learning what happened he said yes that could be an issue and we need you to bring it in. Then said you did purchase the vehicle here said no in Vt then changed his tune now said we cant get you in right away don't have any opening. made an appointment for Sept 7th 11:00 am. I called Nissan Corporation and reported the issue and the way I was treated and how this vehicle is a safety risk to us and the public. was connected to Nissan Consumer Affair. Explained it to the lady she was going up the chain and get this taken care of. We emailed. I have the emails. called another Nissan dealer where we purchased it. Took me in the next morning. Ran a test then explained the test showing there's been a number of malfunctions happening. Said vehicle isn't having the issue at this moment so it passed. Said it was ok to drive. happened again appointment day came the 7th. Service Manger called me saying he can't get me in needs to reschedule. That afternoon happened again causing a crash. with a Utility pole. Showing emails and pictures to police. The police report reads Mechanical issue. I've tried uploading won't let me. but can email if need be.

My 2023 Nissan Versa S5MT has a reoccurring issue where under a stall condition the car will occasionally loose all power on a restart. This happened once in traffic. I got to a red light and fumbled the clutch pedal and stalled in stopped traffic. I went to get in front of a semi that was moving faster then me and if I didn't realize what happened I may have cut him off and gotten T-boned. In a 2500lb car like the Versa, that could have killed me. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership and they failed to replicate the issue. There were no symptoms or warnings prior to the failure. Many others have claimed this issue exists with their 2023 Nissan Versas and also claimed the dealership could not fix theirs.

Car is 4 months old 12,000 miles. 3 intermittent episodes upon startup car has only 20% power even with gas pedal to the floor like it’s in limp home mode. All episodes so far on cold start up 60-80 degree weather. No CEL lights, no misfire, no odd smells. YouTube poster has same problem and ran obd scan tool showing crank position sensor malfunction. Others suspect problem is software issue associated with Nissan removing the push button start from Versa S trim level only cars in 2022/2023 model years and possibly in manual transmission cars only. Car is extremely unsafe to drive in this condition and the female owner is reluctant to drive it 50 miles to work and be stranded. Nissan dealer examined the car and found no issues on first attempt. Car going to the repair shop for a second time.

My car stalled while backing up in heavy gravel. I started out and did not notice that my car was not accelerating. I pulled out into a 65 mph road and began shifting and realized my car was not accelerating. It was a road where pulling over was dangerous. I found an area and turn the car off. I restarted (fixed it when 1st occurrence happened). Got back on the road and again my car was not accelerating above 25-30 mph. Pulled out off the road shut the car off and waited 2-3 minutes and again restarted and the car resumed working properly. This was extremely dangerous due to the road not having safe pull outs. This is the second time this has occurred in my new car.

I had stalled my car and after I restarted it my car had a significant loss of power. I shifted and car would not accelerate at all top speed was 25-30 mph. I had my gas pedal depressed and no change in speed/ I limped to a dealership turned car off and restarted and car was back to normal. This vehicle was 2 days from purchase and less than 500 miles on it. I reported to dealer and was never called back for instructions on how to proceed

The car lost power and would not go over 40 MPH. This made for a dangerous situation on the road. P2615-00 A Crankshaft Position Sensor code was thrown, but when I took it to the dealer they could not replicate the problem. I have video documentation of the problem I can provide. Since I posted my video, several other people have come forward with the same issue. It seems as if when the manual transmission version of this car is stalled or fails to start, it will throw this code and severely reduce the power. It seems to be a simple software issue, but so far all the Nissan dealers who have looked at these cars have not been able to provide a fix. This problem apparently affects all 2022-2023 Versas with the manual transmission. The problem is likely they did not properly code for the removal of the push to start button.
