I had just finished pumping gas and heard a pop, and the sound of glass hitting the pavement. I walked to the back of my car and the back window glass had shattered. I saw no apparent reason for it to shatter. The car was stopped, the engine was off, and the side window was open because my dog was on the backseat. There was only a couple of duffle bags and a backpack by the liftgate. I did check online and there seems to be an issue and reports of the Nissan Rogue's liftgate glass shattering for no reason. It said I should report it. I will also call the dealer on Monday morning.

The hatchback window exp!oded into the vehicle. The vehicle had been setting under a carport all night and my wife got in the car and when she closed the door the hatch window shattered. She took it to the dealer and was told it was an insurance problem. She stopped by our agent but they were already closed. Meanwhile I had been researching this problem and found out this seemed to be a problem with 2021-2025 Nissan Rouges. My wife took the car back to the dealership and told them it was their problem. The dealership has the car now to replace the window.

Purchased 2023 Nissan Rogue March 2026 drove for 3 months never was informed of a recall. On XXX would not start but it did after removing key from FOB then saw a little gray smoke shut the car down and XXX contacted Lugoff Nissan SC was told of recall and that engine was fully covered. Tuesday called again to inquire about progress none was done. Informed me they would not replace engine unless I paid $2,000 to replace catalytic converters but did not do a clog test so not even sure they are damaged but even if they were it is covered under damages caused by a faulty engine oil system cause the oil is cleanse by the converters and which is a Federal requirement but was told they could put old ones back on and I could smoke which was rude and is illegal to run converters that do not function properly and control smog and pollution per the Federal Government. Then agreed to put engine in Wednesday nobody even heard my request that I needed a loaner then worst part was today I was told car had a bad head gasket which I inquired researched talked to two licensed mechanics with over 40 years experience a bad engine causes all that they are refusing to fix oil runs through a system which is filtered by the converters and can damage if not functioning properly and a head gasket is part of the system; it effects the heads by overheating the oil which overheats engine. They said it would be a few days next week before they could check the warranty no it’s been few days it is 10yrs/120,000 extended warranty per the gov required because over 484,000 2023 Nissan engines were defective dangerous mfg in Japan so either or recall or warranty my car is covered I want engine replaced all necessary repairs properly done free of charge a recall engine malfunctioned caused damages; not any my fault and I don’t want to wait a week I can’t even get my [XXX] husband to his cardiology appt. I need answers please asap tomorrow and a loaner while waiting. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C

I own a 2022 Nissan Rogue with approx 71,139 miles on. While driving on the freeway at 65mph, the vehicle suddenly lost power and became disabled. Prior to the failure, the vehicle did not dispaly an overheating warning, coolant warning, or other indication the engine was overheating or experiencing coolant loss. The vehicle was being driven normally and was on the way to routine maintenance and fuel stop when the failure occurred. An independent repair facility diagnosed coolant intrusion into the combustion chamber and determined the engine had overheated and required replacement. The vehicle's sudden loss of propulsion occurred without warning creating a safety hazard for myself and my daughter as I was forced to coast to a stop in the Gore Area of the freeway just as you entered the [XXX] from [XXX] due to the inability to maintain speed on the freeway. This was the safest area for us to park but it was terrifying as cars zoomed past us from both sides. I am concerned that the engine failed without adequate warning to the driver and that similar complaints have been noted by several others describing the same issue with the same year, make and model as my car. Multiple reports have said it occurred while on the freeway, making this a greater concern for safety. I took my car to Nissan who stated they see the coolant intrusion, but that it was not covered under recall. I asked what caused the internal leak, to which they replied that would require them to take apart the engine to examine further at my cost. I advised the issue with the car not indicating it was even out of coolant to cause it to overheat was concerning because even if I replace the engine, if the electrical failure isn't addressed I could run into the same issue and this time actually get into an accident that could cause death or serious injury. My car is still at Nissan Mission Hills Dealership and available for inspection upon request. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2023 NISSAN Rogue. The contact stated that while driving the vehicle at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle failed to accelerate and slowed down. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed to have a part that made oil burn and caused metal shavings in the oil. The vehicle was released, but the vehicle continued with the same issue. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer where it was diagnosed to have too much oil in it, causing the vehicle to move like that, although there was no visible indication of the oil being the problem. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 72,000.

The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving in the rain at various speeds, multiple unknown warning lights illuminated. Each time, the vehicle was pulled to the side of the road and restarted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but the failure could not be replicated. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 68 MPH, an unknown red warning message appeared indicating the oil was hot. The vehicle was steered to the side of the road, and the hood was opened. Heat was observed coming from the engine compartment. The contact let the vehicle cool down for approximately 30 minutes. On another occasion, while driving at approximately 66 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to his residence and then taken to a dealer, where he was informed that there were two unknown recalls associated with the vehicle. An unknown hose was replaced, and an unknown part needed to be reprogrammed. The vehicle was then taken to the residence. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 68 MPH, the vehicle lost power and an unknown red warning light illuminated. The vehicle was steered to the side of the road and turned off. The contact started the vehicle approximately 20 minutes later and drove it to the residence. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred on several occasions there after while driving at approximately 68 MPH, unknown warning light illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to his residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100 miles.

Reverse & Forward collision warning light flashing on the dash at different periods of time, temperature and speed of vehicle. Unknown if warning light is flashing if collision airbags will deploy if in accident. Reported to Four Star Nissan in Denton, TX, service tech advised no issue, could be because I drive on "rural" roads, when though my driving is all highway miles, showed the service techs the display, showed them pictures and videos of the warning light coming and going, and they said there is no error. It does not have a constant display, it comes and goes at different times, speeds, temperatures. First appeared approx. 1 week after I purchased the vehicle on 12/23/2025, light started displaying on 01/04/26 and has continued since.

I own a 2022 Nissan Rogue that has experienced multiple critical safety defects. The vehicle has repeatedly lost engine power without warning, exhibited delayed acceleration, and failed to engage gears—creating dangerous driving conditions that have put me at risk. Service History and Warranty Disputes: February 20, 2026: I brought the vehicle to the dealership after experiencing loss of engine power. Diagnostics revealed that the EGR Pressure Sensor had internally shorted, causing a loss of communication diagnostic trouble code. The service department replaced the exhaust gas pressure sensor assembly. Despite the defect being a manufacturing fault and my purchase of a wraparound warranty, I was charged out of pocket for this repair. When I questioned the warranty coverage, I was transferred to consumer affairs and informed that only the dealership determines what is covered—an unsatisfactory response to a valid warranty claim. May 20, 2026: I returned to the dealership after the vehicle lost engine power again and lurched violently forward with jerking motions. The service department replaced the engine mounts. However, after only one day of driving, the same dangerous symptoms returned. May 29, 2026: I brought the vehicle back to the dealership for recurring loss of engine power, delayed acceleration, and violent lurching. The service department replaced the EGR system, which subsequently caused the spark plugs to warp. I was charged $400 for this additional repair, despite these being recurring manufacturing defects that should be covered under warranty. Conclusion: This vehicle demonstrates a pattern of dangerous, unresolved mechanical failures. The repeated issues—combined with warranty coverage disputes and repeated out-of-pocket charges for factory defects—indicate serious safety and reliability concerns with this 2022 Rogue.

Dear Nissan Consumer Affairs, I am writing to formally report a serious safety issue involving my Nissan vehicle and to request full reimbursement for the repair costs I incurred as a result. On [XXX], I discovered that the rear window of my vehicle had unexpectedly shattered without any collision, impact, vandalism, or other outside force. The glass remained in place initially despite being shattered. However, when I closed the vehicle door under normal conditions, the entire rear window collapsed and fell inward. The force of simply closing the door should not cause a properly functioning rear window to fail. At no time was the vehicle involved in an accident, struck by debris, or subjected to any unusual conditions that would explain the damage. The spontaneous shattering and subsequent collapse of the glass strongly suggest a defect in the window, its installation, or another manufacturing-related issue. This incident created a significant safety hazard and could have resulted in injury to passengers. Vehicle glass is expected to withstand ordinary use, including the routine opening and closing of vehicle doors. Because this failure occurred through no fault of my own, I do not believe I should be responsible for the cost of repairs. Vehicle Information: Year: 2025 Model: Nissan Rogue VIN: [XXX] Mileage: 14,769 I respectfully request that Nissan investigate this matter and provide full reimbursement for all repair and replacement costs that will be associated with this failure. I have photographs of the shattered glass, repair documentation, and receipts available for review. I would appreciate a written response within 14 business days outlining Nissan’s position and the next steps toward resolving this matter. Thank you for your prompt attention to this serious safety concern. Sincerely, [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

- #11740843May 29, 2026SERVICE BRAKES
A braking issue occurred in my vehicle with sudden rapid acceleration when reversing. When depressing the brake, I reverse at a normal speed, then I experience a sudden jerk and surge in acceleration while reversing. I made contact with a pole before I was able to stop my vehicle by pressing firmly on the brake, in which it jerked to a stop. On the following morning a multi-point inspection was completed at my local dealership, and no issues were found besides replacement of the battery and brake fluid. When the incident occurred, the parking lot in which I was reversing was empty. The safety measures such as the rear beeping alert did sound when reversing too close to a pole in which they then blared once contact was made. I did not sustain significant damage to my vehicle though I do want NHTSA to be aware of the issue, in case a potential recall may need to be issued for Rogues or other Nissan models.

Component Affected: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING Description of the Defect & Incident: My 2024 Nissan Rogue equipped with the 1.5L VC-Turbo engine is exhibiting severe progressive mechanical failure, matching the symptoms described in NHTSA Campaign Numbers 26V080000 (Engine Bearing Seizure) and 26V081000 (Throttle Body Gear Failure). The vehicle is currently experiencing excessive engine shaking, a violently rough idle, abnormal mechanical noise from the engine bay, and a dangerous drop in motive power/acceleration. History of the Issue & Dealer Denial: I originally identified and proactively reported an abnormal engine noise to an authorized Nissan dealership in May 2024. The service department issued a "could not duplicate" finding and turned me away. In June 2024, I provided a digital audio/video recording of the symptom at that time. Following the closure of the initial Nissan dealership, I transferred the care and servicing of my 2024 Nissan Rogue to Future Nissan of Roseville. I explicitly reported the recurring, abnormal, loud engine noise and excessive engine shaking with no remedy offered. Following the official February 2026 recall announcements, the symptoms have severely worsened, progressing to violent engine shaking. I returned to the dealership for the recall remedy. The dealership service department is actively denying recall coverage, claiming the current failure is an unrelated "secondary issue" rather than a consequence of the recalled components. Because Nissan's own NHTSA filings explicitly state that these defects are progressive and give advanced warning through "unusual noises or vibration/rough running" before complete engine failure, the dealership's refusal to honor the recall is a violation of federal safety standards. The alleged secondary damage is direct consequential damage from a primary safety defect that I documented within the initial warranty period. Nissan must take responsibility for this failure.

- #11740511May 28, 2026POWER TRAIN, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, ENGINE
While driving my 2023 Nissan Rogue on Interstate xxx from [XXX] to [XXX] with my xxx daughter in the vehicle, the vehicle suddenly displayed multiple warnings including collision assist/sensor malfunction warnings, start/stop system failure warnings, and “check owner’s manual” messages. Immediately afterward, the vehicle experienced a sudden loss of power and refusal to accelerate. At the time of failure, I was traveling approximately 78 mph in the fast lane of the interstate. The vehicle rapidly lost speed and dropped into what appeared to be limp mode, eventually slowing into the upper 50 mph range despite pressing the accelerator. I had to fight across multiple lanes of freeway traffic while unable to maintain highway speed. This created an extremely dangerous situation due to surrounding high-speed traffic and limited safe shoulder access in a remote desert area. The vehicle became unsafe to continue driving and required a tow of over 70 miles to the nearest Nissan dealership. The tow expense alone exceeded $600. Prior to this incident, the vehicle had already experienced a separate unexplained no-power/no-start event. At that time, the battery, starter, and alternator reportedly tested normal. The vehicle remains within the manufacturer’s 5 year/60,000 mile powertrain warranty and currently has active recalls associated with the vehicle. A Nissan case has been opened and the vehicle is pending dealer diagnosis and inspection. After posting publicly about this incident in Nissan owner groups, I identified numerous other owners reporting nearly identical symptoms involving warning light cascades, sudden loss of acceleration, limp mode events, and highway safety concerns. This incident created a serious safety hazard involving sudden highway deceleration and loss of motive power during interstate travel. I purchased a 2023 Nissan Rogue from Bella Nissan in Union City in September 2025. The dealership failed to disclose to me that there was an open recall on my vehicle. Several weeks later, the car shut down on me while I was driving back to work from lunch, which was extremely dangerous as well as frightening. I missed half a day’s pay because I could not return to work. I had to return the car to the dealership where they blew off my concerns and initially did not want to give me a loaner car but I was adamant that they assess my car, fix it and give me a loaner car in the process. A pattern would emerge where they would tell me the engine damage had been fixed, and I would return the loaner only to have to bring the car right back the same day or several days later due to the car engine shutting down, every time while I was driving the car. The last time I had to return the car, I was able to look at the paperwork that was written regarding my car and it said the reason for me bringing back the car was a check engine check light that was on. When I spoke to my service technician to tell him that the writeup was inaccurate, he ignored me. I spoke with the general manager, Muhammad, and requested the dealership put me in another car and he told me he was unable to do that.He promised me that the dealership would fix the engine open recall and then I would not have any more issues. That was not the case because I have returned to the dealership multiple times to get the engine recall fixed; today 5-27-26 being the most recent time. Today my car was making loud noises and there was smoke – none of this has ever happened before and I don’t want the car to catch fire. I was not able to upload my videos of the car shutting down. I shouldn’t have had so many issues with a newly purchased car. I have video but was unable to upload it. I simply ask that Bella Nissan take back this damaged vehicle and put me in another comparable vehicle, which was my initial request.

Constant forward driving aids disabled due to blocked camera. Has been to the dealer on 6/11/25 7/16/25, 8/7/25 and was scheduled to go back tomorrow for the same issue as well as recall repair and oil change. That was cancelled due to the rear window blowing out this morning and having to have it repaired before driving in all the rain we are having. The "Forward Driving Aids disabled due to blocked camera" appears ALOT and i do get out and check the camera and there is nothing.
